ZERO STARS- SCAM COMPANY
ZERO STARS – COMPLETE SCAMWhen you arrive, they suddenly tell you that your insurance coverage must be $100,000 or more, even though none of their vehicles are worth anywhere near that amount. Then they try to force you to purchase their insurance with extremely high deposits. I was forced to pay for daily coverage even though I have **GEICO insurance and have never had this issue with any other rental company. The truck I originally booked was not available when I arrived. Instead, they gave me a smaller vehicle that clearly needed an alignment. The steering wheel was shaking and the vehicle kept pulling hard to the right. When I called them about it, they tried to tell me the car was “fine.” I returned it anyway because it felt unsafe.Magically, within 20 minutes of returning the defective vehicle, the exact vehicle I originally reserved suddenly became available. When I returned the rental, there was no staff present except someone cleaning the vehicles. He inspected the car and said everything looked fine. He called his manager, who arrived about 30 minutes later to close me out. She asked if I needed to be closed out, gave me my receipt, and I left. Two days later (March 4), they charged my card $700.I immediately called the company. They repeatedly put me on hold and even hung up. Eventually someone told me the charge was for “smoking in the vehicle.”This is completely false.I do not smoke at all, and while my fiancé smokes cigarettes, she never smoked in the car. The only time she smoked was outside the building while we were waiting to pick up the rental. It seems like they used the fact that she smoked outside to make this accusation. The employee even claimed it was marijuana, which is completely untrue. We rent vehicles often while traveling and are very careful about rental rules. We even took the car to a car wash before returning it, so the vehicle was actually cleaner than when we received it.Their story also kept changing.First they said marijuana was found under the back seats, which is impossible because it was just me and my fiancé on a birthday trip, and nobody was even sitting in the back. Then they changed the story again and said cigarettes. An employee said he would speak to the manager and call me back, but he never did. Now every time I call, they leave me on hold for long periods of time. This small rental company appears to make money by making false accusations and charging customers outrageous fees after the vehicle is returned.I strongly recommend avoiding this business.DO NOT RENT FROM THEM OR ANY BUSINESSES AFFILIATED WITH THEM.

York Car Rental Su@ks
I have rented several cars from different companies over the years with little to no problems. This was my first time using York Car rentals. I should have read reviews on all different platforms but I did not (my fault). I was focusing on a good deal. I thought I got one until a day ago. I received a text from York stating my car reservation was canceled due to no car being available 2 days later. I thought it was a joke and called thier Customer Support line and was told the same. Was not offered any options and was instructed to reach out to Priceline for a refund. I asked to speak to local car rental place in Houston Tex or representative’s support. Was told that was not possible and nothing more could be done. Horrible way to run a business and treat a customer. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH YORK AGAIN. Btw - I did call Priceline, got a full refund and a better car deal with another company. Thank you Priceline and Dollar rental. York rental you still suck and will continue to get negative feedback/reviews of you continue to treat your customers the way you treated me.

Avoid at All Costs!!!!
This rental company is operating unethically and should not be trusted. They withheld our deposit using a false claim and then stopped responding to emails once we demanded documentation. They also changed their position on accepting our insurance AFTER the rental, which is unacceptable and deceptive. To make matters worse, we were stranded over two hours waiting for their shuttle late at night with an infant. No updates. No apology. No regard for safety. When we finally reached staff, they were rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. This company shows a clear pattern of ignoring customers once they have your money. We are actively disputing this charge, filing formal complaints, and pursuing all available remedies. This review will be updated only if the issue is resolved and our deposit is returned.Save yourself the stress and financial loss — rent elsewhere.

This place is a SCAM!!!
This place is a SCAM!!!! I booked through Priceline and have booked several rentals . York or whatever they call themselves wanted to charge me an extra 1000.00 deposit plus a 468.00 mandatory insurance since I didn't own a 2019 or newer vehicle . I own 3 vehicles and all have full coverage . I even called my insurance agent while at the counter to confirm I am covered and send my declarations page . Well that wasn't good enough I had to Uber back to the airport and rent a car through Hertz . Priceline did refund me for the rental . I didn't have a good feeling about them from the moment I arrived . They are shady and I believe they were going to rip me off . BEWARE !!!!!

This place is a total scam
This place is a total scam. So first of all it’s quite a ways away from MCO and when you arrive it appears you’re in a storage unit. I booked this trip for 5 days through Priceline and the total for their car rental was 30$. When I arrived at the counter I was told there’s a 20$ a day fee for tolls (this is their cheapest option) even though I would only need 12$ for tolls total. I was fine paying that and then proceeded to be informed that the deductible/hold for renting this vehicle was 2500$ which I was a bit surprised by but willing to just submit that to not be inconvienced any further. Then we get to portion on insurance when their employee informs me that I’m not the “primary” policy holder at which point I inform her that I am a joint policy holder with my husband. She agrees to move forward then informs me that due to the fact that my deductible is 500$ and they require a 250$ deductible that I would not be able to use my personal insurance. (I have full coverage on my vehicle and have used it with at least 6 other rental car companies in Florida in the past year with no issue). Then she states it’s 55$/day for the insurance which brings my new total for the 5 day car rental to 360$. At this point I tell her this is clearly a scam and she states we would be happy to transport you back to the airport if you’d like (this is clearly not the first or last time she’s stated this to guests). I proceed to the waiting area and over hear the next guest with the exact same issue who also decided to take their business elsewhere. I hope you don’t waist you time as I did.

⭐ 0/5
⭐ 0/5 – If I could give negative stars, I wouldYork Car Rental has been one of the most frustrating, dishonest rental experiences I’ve ever had.I was charged nearly $700 upfront for tolls under the clear and explicit explanation that it was refundable and that only the tolls actually used would be deducted, with the remainder returned. That representation is the only reason I agreed to the charge. Now—conveniently after the fact—they are backtracking and changing the story. This is either gross incompetence or outright deception. You cannot tell customers one thing to secure their money and then reverse course once the transaction is complete. That’s not a misunderstanding—that’s bait-and-switch behavior. To make matters worse, they require customers to sign documents without providing any documentation of what is being signed or what has already been signed. I was not given copies, nor was I provided a receipt afterward. Being asked to sign blindly, with no transparency and no paper trail, is completely unacceptable. To be clear: • $700 for tolls is already outrageous • Promising a refund and then refusing to honor it is unacceptable • Backtracking after the rental is complete destroys all trust • Requiring signatures without documentation or receipts is a massive red flagCustomer service has been dismissive and unhelpful, offering excuses instead of accountability. No ownership. No integrity. Just “policy” suddenly appearing where clarity once existed.I strongly advise anyone considering York Car Rental to read every word, record every conversation, and think twice before handing them your credit card. If this is how they handle tolls and signatures, I can’t imagine how they handle bigger issues. There are far too many reputable rental companies out there to deal with one that operates like this.Avoid.

Scammers!
As others have said, total scam. Would not let us use our insurance, tried to charge us $700 for theirs. They are not located anywhere near the Orlando airport despite Priceline indicating they are. The strategy is simple:1 drop you off in a bad neighborhood in a strange city. 2. Massively upcharge. 3. Bully and intimidate (the woman behind the counter yelled obscenities at me in front of my children). Luckily there's Uber! Refused the car and got a rideshare to the hotel. There were five families on our shuttle with us, all five took an Uber and refused the car.

Horrible experience, Avoid at All Costs
Horrible experience, their agents at the airport said they cancelled my car as the flight was 40 minutes late to land. I prepaid over a 1000 months ago and they lied about there being a shuttle to take me from the terminal. They never gave me another car and said you can either pay for another or leave.Complete scammers. Avoid.

Renter "BEWARE" THEY SUCK!
+5York Car Rental receives predominantly negative reviews, with customers frequently complaining about poor communication, hidden fees, hidden fees, shuttle issues, and poor vehicle condition. Many reviewers describe their experiences as a "scam" and advise against renting from the company. While the company states it provides competitive rates, user reviews suggest a significantly negative customer experience is common.

They kicked out ALL of their customers, incl me!
Location: Denver, CODate: 9/11/25Waited 20 minutes for a York shuttle at the airport because they only had one shuttle operating. Upon arriving, they refused my business payment and insurance (I'm the sole owner). I was willing to let this slide and continue with the reservation. However, the other four customers in the room began having troubles of their own with their reservation and we're vocalizing their complaints. At that point, the owner, who happened to be the man I was working with, kicked EVERYONE out! Including me, even though I hadn't complained. It was at noon on a full-sun day and temperatures were in the 90s. There was not another business within a 1/4 mile and some of his customers were elderly, walking with canes. We all had luggage, places to be, and he didn't assist to find us transportation, offer us water, or provide any help of any kind. We were kicked to the curb and stranded.AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Pay more for reputable rental services!

Do not rent from this company
Do not rent from this company. I rented from Orlando Int. Airport This was the absolute worst rental company I've ever dealt with. Read the other reviews, they're all the same. This company is TRASH! They fraudulently charged my credit card a month after I rented the car. Customer service is non-existent. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this company.

Hidden Fees Lies and Deception
I paid for my rental through Priceline expecting they would provide a good service. When I arrive to rent the car they told me that I had to pay an extra $25 a day to activate a toll transponder in my car to take Florida toll roads. I told him we would only be here 4 days and today (Sunday)and Tuesday when we fly back we would only be driving to our Hotel from the car place and from the hotel to drop off on the way to the flight. He said we would go through one toll road and each toll not activating tbe transponder would be $25 and there is no cash option. I showed him on my phone where I could buy a temporary pass (you assign a license plate to) for toll roads and he said told me there license plates are locked to there transponders (another lie) he also said there were no cash options to pay the toll on the way to my hotel and on the way I literally saw a CASH ONLY LANE (ANOTHER LIE) They set there deposit to use personal insurance at $2500 (I guess thing that would scare me away but I have the literal best insurance policy State Farm sells) and when I agreed to pay that they showed me there liability requirements wee 300,000 per incident. Nobody's persona car insurance liabilities are set that high. So they got to collect an extra $274 from me (plus a $1000 deposit he graciously reduced to $500) because we were there from a long flight and ready to get to our hotel. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE

Absolute Scam - DO NOT RENT
I booked a car with York through Priceline and nowhere in the reservation did it state their outrageous “requirements.” After arriving in Florida, I called for their shuttle pickup, 30 minutes passed with no one showing up. I called back four more times and they literally picked up and hung up each time. I finally reached an alternative number and was told they’d send a car. An hour after my original call, they finally arrived. That should have been my warning to walk away. When we got to the location (in a sketchy area), they unveiled their bait-and-switch scam:1. Unrealistic insurance requirements designed to make you fail so you have to buy their overpriced insurance ($50–$80/day). They demand liability limits of 100/300/100, collision & comprehensive coverage, the vehicle on your policy must be 2018 or newer, and your declaration page dated within 60 days — or else pay a huge deposit ($2,500) AND still be pressured to buy their coverage.2. Absurd toll packages - $20.99/day just to “activate” their toll transponder (tolls not included), $35.99/day for unlimited tolls, or $25 per toll “violation fee” if you don’t buy a package. This is pure price-gouging when a SunPass Mini costs about $5.Staff was rude, unhelpful, and clearly trained to trap customers into paying far more than what was advertised. Another family walked out at the same time we did after realizing the scam.Bottom line: This is a classic bait-and-switch operation. Hidden fees, shady insurance traps, and predatory toll charges. I will never do business with this company again and strongly recommend you avoid them entirely.
