Everything was easy to set up at the Scarborough Maine location. I was able to do everything online so that I can access the unit immediately. Matthew called and assisted me through the set up of the apps needed and let me know that support was always available online. He was polite and really appreciated his help, Thank you.

Prime Storage in Crestview

Prime Storage in Crestview, FL on Ferdon Blvd. consistently increases rates in hopes its customers won't be able to pay their monthly rent. This allows them to make a profit on the items in your unit. Their website shows low rates to get you hooked and then held hostage. This has to be unlawful!

Untrustworthy Incompetence & lack of follow up

Tried to get temporary rental before investing in real estate in new area. Bathroom leaked water and hot water heater was out. They said they would fix it. Paid intro fees. 5 weeks later, still more excuses. Said they have to find approved contractors. Then they have to get budget approved for the contractors. Corporate never responds to phone calls and when they do, always excuses. Will never do business with prime storage group. Recommend all my C-Suite and Investor peers to avoid this group!

I rented a unit from Prime storage…

I rented a unit from Prime storage located on 1155 Powers Ferry place; Marietta, GA on 10/19/2025 at a special discounted rate of $114. after 2 months of renting the unit, I was sent an email stating that there was a price adjustment of $100. When I went to check my credit card statement for the month of February is when I became aware of the charge for $214 on my credit card (which I did not authorize). i had not seen the email until 02/21/2025 after I was told by the GM(Adam) to vacate the premises after he received a complaint about a water leakage from their facility into my unit. I complained about this issue on multiple occasions to the previous GM and other staff members, but nothing was ever done. I was offered to move to another unit; however, they were not willing to pay for the move even though the issue was due to the non maintenance of their facility. Why would they think that it is fair that the tenant pays for the costs for moving to another unit when it is the facility's fault? After speaking to an assistant manager in person and showing him the damage to my rent; he stated that he was aware of the water leakage issues and that they were aware of it before the unit was rented to me, but he thought that the issue was fixed. I have also found a review/complaint on the BBB website regarding the same water leakage issue back in 2023. There are laws in Georgia (the Georgia House Bill-H.B.811 that protects customers from predatory practices from Storage facilities. What they have done to me is considered to be illegal and a breach of contract (i.e. price gouging before a calendar year is up and failure to warn tenant of facility issues) to name a few. The new GM (Adam) has decided to lie on me to say that I declined to move to another unit, when I simply requested that they pay for the cost of moving (which they declined). I used my renters insurance to file a claim (which I pay for monthly); seemingly, they believe that they are the ones who paid out my claim. I was forced to obtain their third party renters insurance before renting out a unit with them which has also violated the H.B.811 law since it is no longer required. Now, I am being financially inconvenienced to move out of the unit and to find another storage facility which will cost me at least $1,000 to find movers, a UHaul and the cost of renting another unit all because they refused to fix their water leakage on their roof. The GM (Adam) was very unprofessional in handling this matter and took no accountability for what has happened and the distress that this has caused me.

Prime Storage engages in deceptive pricing practices.Prime Storage engages in deceptive pricing practices. Luring customers with low rates and quickly doubling, tripling quadrupling rates. My rate has increased more than 4X since August 2024.Read this article that calls out Prime Storage for their practices which The State of California has received hundreds of complaints and are investigating for violations of State and Federal Consumer ProtectionLetter received last week from Prime Storage..Please note the following: The following fees have been updated and will be charged, as applicable, in accordance with the terms of the Rental Agreement:24 Hour Access. $30Dumpster Fee $125Electricity Fee. $35Lock Cut Fee. $50

If you buy storage auctions steer clear…

If you buy storage auctions steer clear of Prime. Most if not all units are Manager special/abandoned units. Have seen items from other units in their current auctions with more stuff added. They probably take the best stuff and stage the rest to get the most profit then on top of that want $200.00 for a deposit to make you take their crappy staged auction items. Just an fyi for anyone that does this for their lively hood. Don't support this untrustworthy business.

Price increases happen quickly

When we first rented this place, we had one 10x10 unit and paid $115 per month. We decided we needed a second unit and they provided us with one right next to our other for $100 per month (discount provided). Within 6 months we were given two price increases that brought our bill to a total of $353 per month. When asked why I was leaving, they asked if there was anything they could do to keep my business. It's a shady practice to bait people in and keep increasing rent each month and in the long run you would keep more business if you were upfront and honest about your business plan or you wouldn't have people rent at all. I would highly recommend checking around for another place as there are many others within distance of this place that have lower prices and offer the same exact unit.

It is a Red Flag when Site Managers…

It is a Red Flag when Site Managers claim autonomy and refuse to provide information on how to file a complaint.Prime Storage hides their CEO HQ information and refuses to provide direct contact info unless customer reveals their personal information first which places your property at risk since they have the keys to your unit and security footage . Why trust a company not a transparent and discredits the consumer and refuses to hold Staff accountable. Shady.

I do not recommend this company

I do not recommend this company unles you are prepared for rates increases every 6 months without fail. I rented here for a few years and received rate increases continuously. They take advantage of the leverage they have due to the fact that it’s difficult to move somewhere else. The cost became so high that it was less expensive for me upgrade my attic in order to store the items there. Just some honest input.

Go somewhere else

I rented a 10" x 20" unit less than 2 1/2 years ago in the more expensive 'climate-controlled' building, for what I thought would be short-term. Since then, my belongings are smelling mildewed (and I'm allergic to mildew and molds), and my rent has increased from $388/mo to $559/mo, the last increase being ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS, in less than a year. While the people onsite are wonderful, I couldn't recommend this company to ANYONE. I tried to get humidity control through the corporate people, but they just talk sweet and do nothing. It's a greedy company that cares NOTHING for its customers. Just taking your money. My advice - - find somewhere else. And if you're in a temporary apartment, get one with an extra room. I may end up having to get rid of my cherished belongings, after spending a fortune trying to "keep them safe."

Run away from this place

I just moved into town and needed a space for my boat. I found prime storage and thought the price was right. On the way to the facility an impatient tractor trailer drive destroyed the boat and trailer I was going to store there. When I went to cancel the space and showed them pictures of the wrecked boat, they said sorry your locked into special rate and will have to pay till May.Run away from this place!!

Run Away. Prime is the worst in town IMO

I found them to be dishonest with me and they did not represent ethical values. I believe the new fees and rents for the storage are predatory. They were very aggressive and hostile when pressing me to sign the contract to Prime. Many bad things were written into those contracts and I do not believe Prime is acting in "good faith." No good can come from partnership with the unethical.

Hidden Fees Double The Cost of Rent. Denied Access to Unit.

Also Under LifeStorage (the building says Life Storage): I placed my Ex's items (clothes, shoes, etc) in this storage facility (he knew) and I paid the first month's rent (62 for rent & 13 for insurance) on March 24. My Ex is currently homeless, on EBT, and looking for employment, so he, unfortunately, did not clear the unit out in time and missed the April and May due dates. I was told that $150 was due on May 24th (covers May 24 - June 23 rent). I received an email on May 26th invoiced for $315 (62 + 62 for rent, 13 + 13 for insurance plus a $115 Old Lien Fee added 5/24 and $50 Lien Processing fee added 5/24). I was not warned of these fees and they surpassed the costof the unit's rent/insurance by 110%. Shocked, I emailed back 5/27 asking about these fees to see if they could be removed and said the storage unit would be paid in full and cleared out prior to 6/24 (thenew month). I received no reply. Again, I emailed 6/8 asking for answers about these exorbitant fees. I received a new invoice on 6/9 stating $365, they added a $25 lock cutting fee (6/8 although they still did not respond to the last email) along with next month's rent and insurance (covers 6/24 - 7/23). I finally received a reply later that day on 6/8 saying they could only remove the $50 Lien Processing Fee and was told that I need to pay $290 within 3 days to have access to the storage unit, since they planned to add an additional $100 in 4 days if that was not paid in full (June 13). This has been a nightmare, I just want to pay the rent and insurance that was used which is only $150 before next month starts on 6/24, and never use this place ever again. I cannot imagine a company willing to charge a homeless person $390 for them to access their items before next month even starts to empty their belonging when only two months' rent and insurance is due equalling $150 in total. This company is gouging poor people in the middle of a pandemic with these hidden fees, ignoring questions when they arise, and makingan absurd profit off people's weaknesses.

Terrible management in Cartersville, GA

Maybe there is a reason for so many bad reviews...bad management in Cartersville, GA?Worst experience ever! I was a customer for 10 years. Either they needed my camper space for a new building or they just didn't like Iraqi war veterans or retired police like myself, so they made me vacate my spot for no reason, no discussion and not even a phone call. Probably because I left a negative review in the past for raising the rate 100%. Stay away! There are better places to rent that respect their customers and appreciate loyalty.

Stay Away Unless You Like BIG Monthly Increases!

I am very disappointed with my most recent experience with this facility today. I've been a customer for a mere 3 months (left a glowing review then) and have just been rewarded with a 54% increase. I am not the only one complaining, I've met multiple people in the halls who have experienced the same thing... some even more then my increase! I initially chose this facility and paid a little more for the convenience as I live across the street. If I knew that my rate would increase this much, I would have never chosen it. I went in to speak with the manager one week ago and now just got word that the rate increase will stand. There are a lot of facilities in this area, I would just urge you to do your homework. On the bright side, the facility is always nice, clean and the personnel are friendly. But, if money is no object... this is your place. Location is 300 Rabbit Hill Rd. Holly Springs, GA 30115. I did get a reply to call them to discuss, but the phone # given was not a good one...been calling for 2 days and it always says "server unreachable." Unfortunately I cannot given less than 1 star as it is not an option!

BEWARE OF PRIME STORAGE

BEWARE OF PRIME STORAGEPrime Storage has been a terrible experience. I had S&E Mini Storage for 28 years. They were easy to deal with, and ALWAYS responded to complaints and concerns. They also had nice friendly employees, and even a clean rest room. Now it is a disgusting pigsty.Three years ago, Prime Storage bought S&E. With S&E I always paid in advance at the current monthly rate. With Prime Storage I paid for a year in advance and they charged me the following year's proposed, forthcoming rate. If this wasn't illegal, it was certainly unethical.Although they sent a letter stating they had a grievance policy they refused to address my legitimate complaint. The person in charge even started yelling at me over the telephone.Every six months they would send me a letter stating they would need the same proof of insurance. I wouid have to spend my time contacting Travelers to get them to send the same information. I would call Prime and ask them to have the courtesy to contact me upon receipt from Travelers. They said they would but never did. Instead, I would get a letter from Prime saying I needed additional insurance from Prime. Over and over again, every six months I would to go through this. Pitiful customer service! There is NO customer service. They even have their dumpster locked up so customers cannot dispose of anything. Use another storage facility that actually cares about their clients.Tony Raymond973 Circle Drive

IF YOU CAN AFFORD A $277 RENT INCREASE AT ONE TIME, BY ALL MEANS CHOOSE PRIME!!

If I could give less than zero stars for this NIGHTMARE I would. I signed up only 4 months ago, was promised "stability" in pricing and was even told by Greg that my rate wouldn't go up in 2020 at all in consideration of the Covid crisis. I received an email yesterday morning saying MY RATE WOULD BE INCREASING FROM $188.50 TO $465.50!! I've heard of 20-40 dollar rate increases at worst, NEVER an increase of HUNDREDS at one time! I think a class action lawsuit is in order. At any rate, I have reported them to NYC 311 for this appalling and criminal TRAVESTY!
