They have a great warranty of their work and honor it for the lifetime of the home.
Apparently something has changed with this company, or they delete all bad reviews. Do your homework. Research your options. Understand exactly what you are receiving for the thousands of dollars you hand them - up front! While there appears to be very little expense for materials, they still want 50% up front, before work begins. That should have been red flag #1.They absolutely charge much more than others, but don't provide a higher quality of work. And, when they ask you to sign a blank line on their phone, they tell you it is your approval of credit card payment, when actually it is applying your signature to their proposal, which is 10 pages of fine print. I thought I was careful as I advised the sales rep that I would make a down payment in order to get the job scheduled, but I would not sign the document package until I had an opportunity to review every page. The proposal required several changes, so I never signed the first proposal package, or so I thought. When the revised document package was emailed to me at 6:39 am, the day work was to begin, there were documents dated the day I made down payment included, which allegedly had been signed by me. I never signed a proposal from PermaPier. I approved an almost $4,000 down payment, charged to my Amex, which required my signature. The sales rep ran my card on through his cell phone and asked me to sign on a blank line. I asked if he could back up so I could see what I was signing, he assured me it was just acknowledgement of the down payment on my credit card. If this review ever sees the light of day, I will provide more details, once our engineer inspects the so called repair work. To us, it appears that the 14 piers they sold us, resulted in no visible correction to the foundation. Be Careful!
Perma Pier and CEO Shawn Lawson have gone way above and beyond to fix my foundation issues. I am very grateful and shocked at the concern they have shown and the extent to resolve. Thank you Shawn and to your team for fixing my home. This has been a company that stands behind what they say which doesn't happen very much.
While I had a good experience until the after work was complete. One of the pier locations collapsed inward after a few days and appeared to show the foundation and exposed a sprinkler head. Contacted Permanent Pier and was transferred to warranty who said the first available day it could be checked out was Friday or in my case 6 days after the foundation repair. I think this is unacceptable since the initial repair was just a few days complete. Be sure to really check their work before the crew leaves.
We used the Arlington branch of Perma-Pier in July to fix our Pier and Beam foundation. The actual workers do a pretty good job but the back office likes to hide behind an excuse of "it's not in the contract". Their sales/back office will be very attentive prior to the sale but once the contract is signed, the communication STOPS. If you are an expert at foundations and can monitor their work, then feel free to use them. Since we are not experts nor have we ever had any foundation work done before, we assumed that Perma-Pier, as the experts, would provide clear guidance and communication throughout the process. This was not the case. Perma-Pier was quick to send someone out to evaluate all parts of our house and give us a "bid". The work they "bid" was to fix portion of our house under the living room and laundry room. The ONLY reason I am giving them 2 stars is because the workers they used to fix that part of the house did seem to do a good job. The issue is the other parts of our house. After the foundation work is completed, a "third-party" will perform a structural engineering report. You can request this report from Perma-Pier. When I read this report, not only did the engineer reported work needed to be done to other parts of the house but the email thread that was forwarded to me from Perma-Pier had an internal message from a Perma-Pier employee (Nikki) asking management (Erik) "Crosstown is “recommending” additional work, is this something we need to do anything about." The crazy thing is, I had to request Perma-Pier to send someone out again to evaluate the other parts of our house. They sent someone and sure enough, they said work needed to be done. When I asked why they didn't bid this out originally, they said my wife told them "not to worry about the other parts of the house". First of all, that is ridiculous since my wife did not say this, secondly, any company that plays a he said/she said game loses all credibility in my book. If Perma-Pier just spent the little bit of time to bid out all parts of the house initially and allowed us to refuse the work, then I would not have anything to complain about. The fact that they were too lazy to bid out the full part of the house and still have NOT sent me a written bid, only a verbal bid, shows the poor business practice of the DFW branch. Beware before you use them! The actual workers seem like they do decent work; however, the back office/management needs an overhaul.PS I used another group to fix the other parts of my house.
My siblings and I are selling our father's 1970's cement slab foundation home in Leon Valley. The prospective buyers (VA buyers) hired an inspector who pointed out several "issues" he felt might be signs of a foundation problem. We know there have never been problems with it, and asked Clint Shanks to come out and inspect it for us. He was prompt, friendly, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about this area, soil conditions, and all the ins and outs that entails. He went over every detail from the report, and determined that the foundation was in fine shape and no repairs were needed. Our realtor recommended him, and we are so glad we called! What a weight lifted! We plan to use Perma Pier again when we move to the Austin area soon, to inspect any home we decide to buy. Great company!
I initially was excited to have Perma Pier perform our foundation repair because of their reputation. When it came time to get the work done they worked with me to get an outside crew to come in and do the work earlier than scheduled. The crew showed up late and didn't get the work done when they had promised. They come out a few days later to finish and they didn't have the equipment they needed and they have to come back the next day to get the work finished. Operations keep telling me that they would show up at 8 am but they never showed up earlier than 10 and some days it was at 11. I'm still in the process of getting this finished but I am underwhelmed so far by how they have ran this job.
Knowledge is power. They took time to go over my repairs before they started, and answered all my questions. The crew was professional and did a great job! You couldn't tell I had foundation work done!
Heather and Katrina did a great job in walking us through the process. They explained everything step by step and made it easy to understand. The turn around time exceeded our expectations. We would definently recommend Perma-pier.
Where is my money?! I come up to get checks owed to me but get told to leave! Not how busines should be handled.I get email response that say “This review doesn't reflect the service we provide our customers.” If can’t even pay me for employees checks then I think people should know about dishonesty of the company.
I have trusted Perma-Pier with all my foundation assessments and repairs for over 15 years. I invest in several rental homes in The Colony and this is a pit of clay. Houses shift constantly.
Perma-Pier is my Go-To company for foundation repair! They have the best most reliable service that can be trusted. I use them on my personal projects and trust that they will always take great care of my clients. Thank you guys for your EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!!
Dan S. Was extremely professional, personable and efficient. I wouldn't hesitate for a second to call Perma-Pier and have Dan come back out for anything in the future!
Honestly I knew we could expect more cracks once it was fixed but now have way more than we started with. Patio door will have to be adjusted as well as wall cracks, ceiling cracks, new tape down the wall. They were good guys, cleaned up well after the job was complete.
He was very communicative and professional. He was one of the only guys who got back with me in an appropriate amount of time, and he bore helpful information about our potential service needed.-Ross Gott
I originally had 18 piers installed and had a few concerns about a couple of areas of the house. After reviewing my concerns it was agreed that I needed additional piers to address my concerns. Perm-Pier offered to adjust the initial piers as needed and to install the additional piers at a reduced price. Gerbie and his crew showed up on a Monday as scheduled, installed the eleven additional piers (five included breaking through concrete patio and driveway), adjusted previously installed piers and cleaned up by Tuesday afternoon. Gerbie's performance restored my confidence in Perma-Pier. Working with Aubrey Kincaid in the office was very assuring and satisfying. I chose Perma-Pier because they have been around for awhile and I can now add that they stand behind their work and take customer satisfaction seriously. I'm a licensed architect and my foundation is slab on grade. If your slab needs repair I recommend you talk to Perma-Pier Foundation Repair of Texas.
Heather was very patient in evaluating our concerns. She explained to us above and beyond professionally. We are very satisfied with her work and evaluation. Heather has a future in any field she pursues. Good luck to you Heather, well Done!Mr. Ron Murillo
Not only would I recommend this company to anyone, I actually do recommend this company to everyone! I've recommended Perma-Pier time and time again, and I will continue to do so. Thanks for always being honest about what is or isn't needed at every home.
Heard about for Perma-Pier through Real Estate Investor groups and had them price a job years ago and they were by far the least expensive with all same services and guarantees. I had done my own guesstimate as to what I thought it would cost for our residence and I missed it, by a few pier because did not include piers for all corners of the chimney.Their crew is here for the second day and leveling the house. So far, very pleased with the work and professionalism. I will update this once they are all done.Pleased with the work of the onsite crew and communication of Juan (forgot his last name) the superintendent. While I knew and anticipated that my landscaping/shrubs would be damaged, I was disappointed that they have little knowledge as to how to transplant shrubs. They're not landscapers and I will need to replace about 40% of what they had to move to do the work. Other than that I am very pleased. Office staff was excellent and communicated well before, during and after the work was done!
