I’m shocked eBay even has a 1.3 rating

I’m shocked eBay even has a 1.3 rating. What a greedy company run by dirty people

Slapped

Ebay slapped my face because I left a poor review on a seller (sold me a piece of junk), so goodbye Ebay...Not only that, my 1st Amendment rights were broken...What happened to free speech!?Again...Goodbye Ebay!

I bought an item from a seller

I bought an item from a seller, which went faulty 6 months later. I found that the warranty was void according to the manufacturer, because the eBay seller was selling unauthorised and not genuine products. The manufacturer said that it had informed eBay about this but eBay had not acted on it. That left me with a warranty that was unusable, no support and nowhere to go. Escalated to eBay and what was told that I should receive a refund but after 23 days I gave up and closed my account.Absolutely appalling company.

Do not let Ebay pay your Postage !!!!

Do not let Ebay pay your Postage !!!!I did on an item I sold which got lost in the post.I am told by the courier company that because ebay paid for the postage they need to put in a refund claim. But Ebay have no method to do this.So my only option is to issue a full refund and write the loss down to experience.

Ebay always favors the sellers over the buyers. I was told I had to wait until Thursday to get a refund for an item not received. Today, Thursday I was informed ebay is giving the seller until March 4th to respond which is 6 days away. That's ridiculous and so unfair to buyers.

If I could do zero stars

If I could do zero stars, I would. I have tried ordering from eBay three times in my life and never have I received my product. The first time was about 10 years ago. I was a poor college student trying to get a necklace for my mom as a birthday gift. It was marked as delivered but never showed up. Not even a photo confirmation. How disappointed was I. It would have been my first gift with my own money. The second time was about 4 years later. Me and my mom tried to order a dog cage. Guess what it never showed up. Now fast forward to the present thinking eBay may have changed, I ordered something else like an idiot and guess what. NO FREAKING PRODUCT. All of these items were marked as shipped but I never got a single product. 😔

Ebey doesn't protect buyers

I had the worst experience buying something on eBay in my 22-year membership with them. I have 824 transactions with perfect feedback for my entire time with them, but I have noticed that they are not allowing buyers in some cases to share their negative experiences. I had a seller take 10 days to bring what I purchased to the USPS for shipment and then he sent the wrong item and would not cooperate with me to get a refund. I left negative feedback and eBay deleted it. The seller's account name was mashe197. I think that eBay has a conflict of interest as they make money on sales and don't want to hinder sellers by allowing them to get negative feedback. I am closing out my 22 years buying and selling with eBay and will not return. Their customer service people either cannot be understood, give bad and incorrect advice or when you can understand them are very curt and bureaucratic.

Poor service. Rude customer service.

I was a customer/seller for years with ebay to get a permanent suspension for no reason. Contacted ebay for them to be rude and hang up like customer service is nothing when your account is suspended for no reason. Plus for the customer service staff to say we know why your suspended but we aren't telling you incase we stop it happening again. How can it happen again when i am permanenly suspended and your going to block every account i try to create. Disrespectful and rude. Poor service from ebay. I expected better from them.

So are you going to stand by the buyer protection? Weeks now and I'm waiting for a refund but feel sellers are protected. I've contacted the seller several times for my refund and still can't leave negative feedback

They have thousands of items that are scams. They are often identical at low prices either sellers that only just signed up. They should be vetting these!!!

Can't sign in to EBay anymore

Can't sign in to EBay anymore - pop up tells me the computer I've been using for years is a "different computer" (Computer says "No"?). Gives a phone number (2086-100157) which doesn't work. First contacted Customer Services by email November 2025 who were no help; trying again February 2026, too much automation which is too generic. So, after years of being a '100% rated EBay buyer', I can no longer use Ebay. Their no doubt well intentioned security practice is so secure I can't even get into my own account. Sorry sellers but I'm done. EBay have made it too difficult for this buyer to even try to buy. Best wishes and good luck to you all.

I bought something from China the…

I bought something from China the listed price on eBay on this Chinese vendor site was buy now £11.20 all vat included and free postage ! But there was a second alternative make an offer ! I made and offer of £9 but this was accompanied by 20% vat making my purchase £10.80 which was still 40 p cheaper ! But here’s the sting if I had gon in with £10 it would have cost me £12 /. 80p more ! Most of the items you see on buy now with eBay are what you pay unless they caveat the post ! So when you make an offer on eBay take in to account the vat your paying on your offer price why you could pay more then the listed price ! So I understand to recap listed price is vat included offer price will incur 20% add on !

They don't monitor anything

They don't monitor anything! Submit a report and its reviewed by AI, and always comes back as we found no evidence. Completely bs site better off with Amazon, mercari or literally meeting some random person in a sketchy alley!

eBay supports scammers

Item was supposed to be delivered 2/21 , by 2/24 hadn't been shipped, tried to cancel the order, scammer seller refused, complained to eBay they dropped the complaint, if it wasn't for scammers eBay wouldn't have any sellers, I reckon

when you have a problem with an order, Ebay become very hard to contact

when you order sth there are multiple mails telling you how its going. when sth goes wrong, getting a result is almost impossible. i sent mail after mail, no reply. an order incomplete, the vendor details dont exist, they shouldnt be selling. the only reason they get one star is the courier brought it to my door, very rare so chapeau to him. the performance of ebay on this has been abysmal. i have already excluded onbuy as a source of product for a similar issue which took months to resolve, i fear ebay is going to join that list

eBay used to be fun for both buyers and…

eBay used to be fun for both buyers and sellers — I’ve been both. Now, I honestly can’t enjoy either experience. There are too many policies, very little real customer service, and everything feels automated. When you try to get help, you’re often dealing with overseas call centres reading from scripts. I’m a dual citizen and have lived in England for 25 years, so this isn’t about race — it’s about understanding local systems and being able to provide proper, practical support. You need people who understand the country and how things work here. The app on iPad is also extremely limited and frustrating to use.As a seller, buyers can leave negative or neutral feedback unfairly, and even when you go through all the steps to challenge it, eBay doesn’t properly review or remove it. It feels like a pointless process.Example: I sold an item for £7 (engine oil additive). I posted it within 30 minutes. Three hours later, the buyer messaged asking to cancel because they made a mistake. I explained it was already at the sorting office and couldn’t be cancelled. My terms state no returns, but I still offered: return it and I’ll refund minus postage (£3.55). For such a small amount, I even suggested it wasn’t worth the hassle and they could just keep it — everyone owns a car at some point. They went quiet. Two months later, they left neutral feedback simply saying “ok.” I requested removal because it was unfair and misleading, but eBay refused. So why provide a feedback removal request option if you don’t genuinely review cases? As a buyer, I’ve also lost hundreds of pounds on faulty car parts. Some sellers ask for cash on collection, but if something turns out to be faulty, eBay’s Money Back Guarantee doesn’t apply — even though buyer protection fees are charged. You drive hours to collect what’s advertised as genuine and working, only to find it’s faulty, and the seller disappears. There’s no meaningful protection. Also many times they send me promotional offers and discounts and when goes faulty or doesn’t apply or work they sting me with hefty fees, and refused to refund or remove it, just again hide behind too many policy’s etcOverall, the platform feels heavily policy-driven but lacking in fairness and common sense. Customer service feels distant and robotic. It’s no longer the enjoyable marketplace it once was.

Account banned without ever using and treated very bad

For the first time in my life i made an Ebay account 2 weeks ago and al of a sudden i got a mail my account was suspended. Customer support useless, they just keep saying that it's a business decision and they have the "right" to refuse people using their platform. No specific reaspon why my account was suspended. Also they said i'm not allowed to make new account as they will also be blocked. And that is how you get singled out from a million people using that platform with the best intentions. It's very vile and nasty how this company treats you like a criminal. So yeah, never started on Ebay and apparently this means I never will in my lifetime. If they have any decensy they would still reach out to me with a solution, but I highly doubt it. If this would happen to any of these people that work there on another platform they would also feel the injustice.

Ebayer is being ruined by dodgy authenticating high end bags , saying they are fake and then returning them damaged . I will not use ebayer again now after 2 bad experiences. Customer service has also gone down hill. Just appalling . You are better off selling on Vinted .
