I am at a loss of words over my…

I am at a loss of words over my experience with LIBERTY HOME GUARD. Our home warranty associates will not communicate their resolution decision in writing. I am hearing impaired and have requested numerous times this week for written determination on our oven claim and they refuse. We have pleaded with them. We are elderly and have never been discriminated before like this. They offered a $600 credit for a new oven which is covered under their plan. We picked out a less expensive oven for no out of pocket costs. We sent all the pertinent information and no response. All that money we spent and no help. Never and I mean never trust that you will be covered as we are seeking advice from very knowledgeable people to pursue how our disabilities rights have been infringed on. In the meantime the service tech they sent out to diagnose tore our oven apart and we smell something like burnt wiring. We have mentioned to Liberty Home Guard that their tech left the oven in a precarious state with no help from them. Could it be burnt wiring?

Three full weeks without repair!

If I could give less than one star, I would! I reported an issue with my garage three full weeks ago, and it still hasn’t been repaired. I call daily, and keep told it will be escalated. I asked to have a manager call me. One finally called at the very end of a business day, and after I said hello, I heard them click off. I called right back and was told they had all left for the night. I need my springs replaced. The service they sent had everything in the truck to make the repairs. He was told Liberty wanted to order their own parts to save money, but they would call him to do the install. He refuses to work that way. Then I was quoted a price that I would have to pay. I could pay Liberty or the serviceman. I chose to pay directly, to make sure they received all the money. When I contacted them to come out they wanted double what Liberty had told me. I sent the fee to Liberty and they have done nothing to help me since. My children visited me from out of state and had to rent a car, because I couldn’t get into my garage. It would have cost me less to pay what the inflated price was. This is not my first issue with this company! About a year and a half ago I had two calls (I pay separately for each call, along with the annual) for my pool at the same time. They sent workmen, but only paid for one of the issues, after approving both. I posted about this on a review site. They called me and told me - if I removed my review- they would pay. I said my review stood until I was paid. I was never paid. If you are considering purchasing through this company BUYER BEWARE!

LYING SCAM COMPANY

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. DO NOT BUY A POLICY FROM THIS COMPANY! Here is my latest rating of Liberty Home Guard. The last post was that they do NOT pay for installation of the parts they order for the technician they send out. They pay the initial service charge but anything beyond that they don’t pay. That is the first rip off. Then, they now tell me they will replace the oven because supposedly they can’t get parts. They send the email of one replacement oven and it’s a free standing. Mine is an insert. They tell me they don’t have to match what I have but the policy says it must have all the same options. A free standing is not an insert. It won’t work. I contact them. They say they have “approved” a whopping $600.00 for me to get my own. I ask them to send more options for what I have. They send a list of 4 inserts with pricing and one of the ones listed is exactly what I have. They tell me I will get $600 towards it and it costs $1700.00. So I have a warranty that will replace my oven but not really. I have a scam of a company who rips me off at every turn. My oven is worth $1799.00 to replace and the company I was told I could trust says they will only pay $600 towards the replacement oven they say I can get. Someone make it make sense. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM AND RIPS YOU OFF. I WOULD ALSO SAY THEY ARE A BAIT AND SWITCH COMPANY. AVOID LIBERTY HOME GUARD AT ALL COST!!!

Michael was more than helpful getting my claim closed. He also advised me how to proceed in submitting another claim.

First of all don't expect to get timely service even though they process your claim quickly because they want your payment no one is going to come fix your appliance for about a week. If you decide to hire without using their service you will likely be able to get the same work done by the next day. Now if you want a refund on your payment plan to wait 10 to 15 days while your money is earning them interest. Very shady behavior!

Stay away from Liberty Home Guard

I had Liberty Home Guard for a short period and filed two separate claims. Both experiences were extremely disappointing. The first claim was for my HVAC system. Their technician told me the entire unit needed to be replaced and that my out-of-pocket cost would be $6,900. That immediately raised red flags. I decided to get a second opinion from an independent HVAC contractor. It turned out the unit did NOT need to be replaced — only a specific component had failed. The part was replaced for a fraction of what Liberty Home Guard claimed was necessary. The second claim was for my dryer. The control board needed replacement. Liberty said they would cover the part but required me to pay $250 for installation. Between that and the previous HVAC experience, I completely lost confidence in their service model. After two claims that felt inflated and unreasonable, I canceled my policy. In my experience, it appears they look for ways to minimize coverage or push costly solutions rather than practical repairs.I would strongly recommend getting independent second opinions before agreeing to any major repair decisions through them.

High prices paired with low customer service

They charge a bit more than other companies, which (my fault for assuming) made me think that it might be a better product; it absolutely is not.It takes several days to get a request assigned to someone to actually do the work, and when they do, you almost certainly bet that it will be a one man show with poor reviews when they do... and scheduled for several days later, regardless of how "urgent" the job may be.For example, its below freezing out and we have no heat at the moment, yet the "soonest" they could have someone here is several days from now.LHG will take your money as quickly as possible, drag their feet to address any claims, and then if they finally do, it will be someone assigned several days away and with bad reviews from previous customers.**IMPORTANT: Because they know you will be unhappy with them, LHG will offer for you to hire your own company for repairs, and then request reimbursement from LHG - do not do this, as getting that reimbursement seems unlikely to happen..

I would avoid this Warranty company… Liberty Home Guard

I strongly recommend avoiding this warranty company based on my recent experiences. They do not cover labor costs and only reimburse a small portion of parts, often claiming items are unavailable even when they can be easily found through major retailers.Instead of honoring coverage, they repeatedly push customers toward purchasing a new appliance while offering a minimal credit that does not come close to replacement cost. I also encountered misleading information from sales representatives and promises that were not fulfilled.Overall, my experience was extremely disappointing and felt deceptive. I would advise others to carefully research alternatives before purchasing coverage from this company.

This company is a scam, any positive reviews you see are not representative. Don't buy, they'll delay. Cause more damage and laugh on the phone.

I opened a no‑heat claim with Liberty…

I opened a no‑heat claim with Liberty Home Guard and spent almost a full month without a working furnace. During this time, my wife was sick and we were relying on emergency space heaters just to keep the house livable. Liberty Home Guard repeatedly delayed service, made promises they didn’t keep, and provided no meaningful updates. They required me to pay a $180 installation fee before even confirming the part. When the part finally arrived, it was the wrong and completely incompatible part. The technician confirmed it could not be used. I also had to spend $254 on emergency heaters because Liberty Home Guard failed to restore heat.I contacted them multiple times and was told my case was being “escalated,” but no one followed up. No supervisor ever came on the line, and emails went unanswered. Even after sending photos and documentation proving the part was wrong, they still have not refunded the $180 or addressed the issue. This company took my money, failed to provide the contracted service, sent the wrong part, and left my home without heat for nearly a month. Extremely poor communication, no accountability, and no resolution. Consumers should be aware of these practices before signing up.

Terrible company, so deceptive

Terrible company. Look at section H, drum section 10. It clearly says they will only give you “book “ value for replacement. So anything that breaks thats old, they won’t replace, they just give you a small credit toward new one. And if A/c or something bigger break, it’s $2k max. Terribly false advertising.
