THE UX OF github payments/subscription…

THE UX OF github payments/subscription IS TERRIBLE!!! how can it be that I'm so uninformed of where/how my money is going to with github??? I feel insulted as a user and my view of Github company has plummeted. I will inform everyone i know of my disappointment. You must as an admin be able to login to my account and see these problem, try yourself to find the button where I can stop this or see what is happening with my money. I asked one of our developers with 15+yrs exp with github to help me with this and after 30+mins of searching we were not able to find it. I asked Ai (Copilot) to help me with this and it didn't even know the menu flow, it was stating names of menu items that weren't even there!!! If Ai itself can't help me with this and you can't help me and a developer of 15 yrs exp can't help me then how can you be coming back at me with a refund is not deserved and no mention of the UX no mention of a sorry for this OBVIOUSLY bad experience that the company that YOU represent YOU have chosen to work for has created. Obviously its not your fault but to leave me so unvindicated, its exacerbating. I'm doing you a favor pointing this out. unless github is purposefully choosing this kind of UX to suck money maliciously & deceptively from its users? at the expense of you too having to put up with this kind of feedback? Do you know if this is true? The only way you can find out or feel like you're a meaningful person in this world IS to try and put it right. We are all more than employees/founders of our companies we all of us founders of the internet and the world. If you dont see it like that then shame on you.

Poor service

They charged for a one month trial after few hours of use despite they're offering 30 day free trial.

These people are scammer.

These people are scammer.. I topped up my mobile only to be charged an additional 49 euros as a subscription.. They basically put the agreement to a subscription in an obscure part of their website and in small print.. They also operate under XP*PREPAID MOBILE... Legally they are compliant but morally they are reprehensible

Great experience as a non-paid user

I haven't used any of their paid services, but as a free account hosting open-source code on their site, the service has been absolutely fantastic for years, no notes. :)

Great source of code

I've started using Github to gather some codes from public repositories uploaded by programmers I watched from youtube.

Best for Collaborators

Still one of the best place to store codes and collaborate with other programmers. Also they offer free courses for college students.

Paying for Nothing, Ignored by GitHub Support

I subscribed to GitHub Copilot Pro with a $100 annual plan in June, expecting reliable service and support. Instead, my account was disabled due to a billing error, and I’ve been locked out of Copilot ever since.I submitted my first support ticket on September 5th (Ticket #3782531), and then a second one later—but GitHub never responded to either. No acknowledgment, no resolution. It’s unacceptable for a paid service to treat its customers this way.GitHub’s silence is frustrating and unprofessional. If they can’t manage basic support, they shouldn’t offer paid subscriptions. I either want the service I paid for or a refund for the time I’ve lost.Until GitHub fixes its support system, I strongly advise others to think twice before paying for Copilot Pro.

Paying Customer Ignored – Copilot Pro Subscription Stopped

I subscribed to GitHub Copilot Pro with an annual plan in June, but my service stopped working. I opened a support ticket over a month ago and never received any response. I even submitted a second ticket, yet still no help from GitHub.It’s very disappointing to pay for a service and be left without support. I expected better from GitHub, especially for a paid subscription product like Copilot Pro. At the very least, I should receive either the service I paid for or a refund for the unused time.I hope GitHub improves its customer support, because right now, it feels like paying users are being ignored.

The best AI agent I have ever dealt with.

I’ve been using GitHub Copilot for about 15 days. It’s amazing—almost like a mind that executes and then explains each step after it.I recommend everyone use the GPT-5 model only, because it’s the only one that reviews the conversation history before executing any request, ensuring it doesn’t repeat commands or create unnecessary files.Just keep a bit of oversight on every file or piece of code it adds—understand what it does, then accept the change.Thank you, GitHub.

GitHub Copilot on Visual Studio - Support refused to help me unless I pay more

GitHub Copilot on Visual Studio - I paid for the Pro service after using it for a few weeks, £10 a month seemed fair. Very shortly after paying for the service it stopped working and hangs when ever I give it a request. I tried to fix it myself but with no luck, I went to the support desk and they dont care that it does not work and will not help me. They even had the cheek to tell me to upgrade to a more expensive package and only then might they help make their product work. This is unacceptable, I am a paying customer and basic tek support is something I expect as a customer regardless of how much I pay.

100 bucks for a stupid AI?

Sorry but who in their right mind thinks it is acceptable to have an AI to be a paid service. it should be free to EVERYONE and not be gatekeeped by greedy pigs like you.

Absolute Disaster

Absolute Disaster — GitHub Support is NonexistentI’ve been a hardcore Microsoft and GitHub supporter for years. That loyalty just cost me a month of wasted time. Here’s what happened: I updated my GitHub profile name. Their system let me save it with illegal characters (a period in my real name, C. E. Hirschauer). The second I hit save, my account completely broke — locked out, email marked as “not in use,” usernames taken, and all my repos/Gists/Pages stuck in limbo.I filed a support ticket immediately. That was over a month ago. Not a single response. Not even an acknowledgment. My account is dead because of a GitHub bug, and their support just ghosted me.This isn’t some free hobby tool — GitHub is where people run businesses, publish projects, and launch companies. To be left stranded like this with zero support is unacceptable.Bottom line: If you value your work, back everything up and don’t trust GitHub to have your back. Their support is a black hole.

Seemless integration with my local repos

Seemless integration with my local repos and nifty GitHub actions which automates certain run checks. The Free Plan offers a wide range of perks but keep in mind they’re metered so don’t forgot to send your budget cut-offs.
