Musty toilet tissue.

Purchased dunnes brand quilted toilet tissue, they changed the packaging and the toilet tissue, plastic packaging looks dirty it smells musty, opened the pack and the toilet tissue smelt musty aswell.Made a complaint, returned the pack to store, got a refund. The toilet tissue was temporarily removed from shelves but then returned in the exact same condition. I will not purchase it again, they're selling us less quality at the same price, instead of just leaving the product as it was and if they're concerned for the environment the packaging should be made from paper.

Ongoing delivery issues led me to switch

I have experienced a number of the issues mentioned in other reviews. When I switched to delivery-only shopping, I found that almost every order had some kind of problem, such as missing items or substitutions that weren’t suitable. Unfortunately, when I contacted customer service, I did not always find the response particularly helpful.I also felt that delivery and collection processes could be better organised. On several occasions, staff appeared under pressure and the overall experience felt rushed.Personally, I am not a fan of the Dunnes voucher system, as it requires additional spending in order to access discounts. I would prefer a more straightforward pricing structure. It’s disappointing, as Dunnes was once my preferred place to shop. For comparison, I have found Tesco delivery in my area to be very reliable. Returns are simple — items can be handed back to the driver and refunds are processed efficiently.

Bad quality fruit and veg

IV shopped in Dunnes for over 40 yrs but I'm changing to Tesco and Lidl . Dunnes veg and especially fruit very bad quality. IV just thrown out half oranges in the net. Avocados from Dunnes either rotten or hard. Kiwi like rocks. I complained before. The staff are so nice which brings me back but I'm tired of throwing out food

Lost Voucher Over Dunnes System Issue

Purchased food Shopping for collection on Thursday the 18th from Douglas Cork, spent 100 and redeemed my 2 vouchers. Shopping collection day they didn't have one item and substituted some other items which brought my Shopping just under 100 (98) just under the 100 needed to get 2 x new vouchers applied to my account, Dunnes just applied one voucher. Rang customer care who said they cannot add the second voucher, requested to speak with Supervisor who also didn't help. Dunnes I spent enough to be able to redeem my 2 x 10 off 50 vouchers but you only give me back 1 voucher and then have unhelpful staff in the call center who apparently cant apply vouchers to our account. Surely your IT Systems allow you to apply vouchers to customers especially when a mistake happens and its not the customers fault.

Ordering process

It took over 24 hours to sort my Click & Collect Order for Christmas. Due to above kept losing my time slot. Local support minimal. Was informed that I could add or remove from order once placed but have failed to do so. It is so frustrating. Never again

Non existing recipies

First of all there is no option to give feedback in their app... If there were I would have done it instead of here and give them chance to improve, but as they are not interested in it, I will just say what went wrong here! I was trying out the recipes listed under their website. I managed to somehow get all the products required despite good portion of them not being available to purchase from Dunnes stores. I got all the products and now I am eager to cook them... I got my products and I got my instructions... What could go wrong!!! Well until you actually take a look at the said instructions what triggered me to purchase the necessary products in the first place! All they say is "Go ahead and cook that shit!" That's it... Really disappointing for a cooking noob like me, when I paid them premium for the products!

Dunnes Stores is not better value after all.

My father is elderly , frail and cannot walk far because of mobility issues and needed a grocery shop. I live in England, my father lives in Dublin, so I tried to do a dunnesstores online grocery shop for him. I ordered everything he needed plus some treats. I filled in his details including his date of birth because Dunnes claimed to deliver free to over 65s. When I tried to complete the order my card details were refused. I then bought a e gift card 95 euro thinking this would make paying for the order easier. I was wrong, the order still needed my card details which it kept refusing , the same card that Dunnes Stores had no trouble taking the money for the e gift card. I rang customer service. I was led to believe that my father would get a free delivery and I was told that my bank had blocked the order from going through and I was told to ring my bank and after that to ring Dunnes Stores customer service . I rang my bank and they had not blocked the order. I rang Dunnes Stores back and I was told the person was taking a lunch break and would ring me back. I did not get that phone call. Later that evening I went back to the order and discovered instead of getting a free delivery the delivery was changed to a pick up slot. I had explained my fathers inability to do his own shopping to Dunnes Stores customer service so I don't understand why it was changed to a pick up slot. I had to cancel because there's no way my father would have been able to go to Dunnes Stores. I had to start all over again with the order.I sent many emails and phoned customer services several times to resolve this matter and also to find out what happened to the remainder of The e gift card . I was told to go to dunnesegift but everytime I tried to find out how to get the balance I kept getting "something went wrong please try again later. Dunnes Stores were unable to provide their own wholemeal bread or their own toilet paper in the order so everything including the 8 euro delivery charge came to 82 euros and it looks like I will not be getting the balance back . I did ring Dunnes Stores Head Office 3 times but kept being passed back to customer service . I don't believe they were listening to me, I did tell them that this was a formal complaint against Dunnes Stores customer services. Their replies in emails told me how to order Groceries online which proved to me that my emails had very little attention and I got another email telling me my father needed to show proof of his age which was too late as he had his order the previous Saturday. I spent a lot of time explaining everything in great detail in countless details and I also spent hours on the phone explaining why I was so upset and feeling ripped off by a store I used to trust and shop in when I live in Dublin. Dunnes Stores did email a how did we do survey so I repeated everything I had told them over the phone and in my emails. I have had no reply to either my "formal complaint" nor from the survey. I feel that I have been ripped off by 20 euro. the 12 Euro balance and the 8 euro deliver service that I was informed was free for people over 65. I will not be shopping at any Dunnes Stores ever again.

Very disappointing

Very disappointing, they've changed the 10 off 50€ vouchers so you can only use them on your next shop but they expire in 10 days, absolutely ridiculous. Dunnes stores changed the only thing what made them stand out from the other shops. From now on I won't bother get my shopping there.

Yesterday I left a bag of groceries…

Yesterday I left a bag of groceries behind and when I looked for them today they had a note of what was in it and I was able to retrieve the goods. I was shopping in the Dunnes stores Market yard Kilkenny and the assistant was more than helpful, great service Thank you. Unfortunately I was so excited about getting sorted that I didn't ask for a name. Marie Stapleton Gathabawn

TID 10038406 - Customer Service could not be bothered

TID 10038406 Logged a ticket with customer service on 21 April asking them to add points from my receipts to my accounts. Rang on 25 April asking to action. Today 26 April still not done. You would think that this is a task that will take hours..... What horrid customer service Dunnes Stores. Please look at Tesco's customer service ...Much much better. Shame on you!

The voucher change is terrible

Previously, it was possible to use vouchers from online orders in-store, and multiple automatic vouchers could also be applied during online purchases. The issues here are:- Dunnes did not notify customers via email, which would’ve at least ensured we received a voucher for our online order.- Vouchers from the ValueCard cannot be redeemed online—I can see a 6€ voucher on my phone that’s unusable on the website.- The vouchers issued are inconsistent; even after a large order, we sometimes receive vouchers with very short validity. Let's say, you order today for 50€, you will need to re-order for 50€ within 10 days. That's insanely short.- Additionally, when an item from an online order is out of stock and the total drops below €50, the €10 voucher is automatically removed—leaving the customer at a loss. (Same issue happened before that change)- When you're collecting an online order, often the vegetable will be out of date within 2 daysThis change seems to favor Dunnes more than its customers, and they didn't improved their service. I’m quite disappointed and will definitly go somewhere else.

Thanks buy no thanks!

Been a customer for 25 years, I'm shocked with the unrealistic inflation of prices? They have really become a rip off merchant. Thank you for 25 years of service but it's actually cheaper and better quality to buy from the local butcher, veg, shop fish munger etc. I'll by my spices etc elsewhere!

DO NOT USE DUNNES DELIVERY

Absolutely horrific service. Ordered groceries that were supposed to come last night. They never came and I called the helpline who provided little to no help and consolation. Took them ages to even understand what was going on at their end. They said the driver had gone home! Said he called and rang bell when this never happened, three people were home all day and heard and saw nothing!! They said the driver can come tomorrow but when I called them again they said there is no driver!! What are they doing!? Don't offer a service you can't provide. First time using this service and will definitely be the last, should have just used Tesco.....

Dunnes grocery store Ireland

We visited Dunnes Grocery Store, Portmarnark Ireland. The food is lovely, the first evening we went through the check outs, the cashier didn't even greet us, and was most horrible. The second evening we went through the self scan where we waited with no service at all. Surprised in friendly Ireland. My husband said we are never going in there again.

Was a loyal customer to Dunnes Stores

Was a loyal customer to Dunnes Stores. Over the years, there have been several grocery delivery issues but human error being what it is, we never made an issue of it and most of the time this was okay and most drivers would ring to say early or late etc. Things became alot more erratic in the past year, and vouchers were now suddenly not adding up (expiry date and lack of notice to any changes) as well as every single item (I've checked) increasing in price by 50c - E1.50 since around early 2023. Obscene prices now for most items, the quality equally has massively dissimproved but the worst aspect of all I feel is the SHOCKING customer service (or lack therof) and general attitude of any Dunnes Stores customer care and management person I've had dealings with. After several inexplicably bad experiences, left and went to Lidl. Was much happier, especially irish meat and fresh fruit and veggies with ALOT more money in my back pocket. Those Dunnes vouchers are purely a bad sales tactic that when it dawns on you leaves a very bad taste - you really don't save anything anyhow because everything is already inflated in price beyond that of their competitors.Having shopped in Lidl for months, I said I'd try Dunnes one last time as my daughter was going into hospital and the delivery option isn't available at my now favourite store. Yet again, low and behold, they seriously messed this order up too! Order was to be delivered between 6-8pm. No calls to say delayed or otherwise. Rang "customer service" and the lady (valentia/ florencia?) couldn't contact the driver apparently. No explanation, no sincere apology, no suggestion about what to do next and just left it at that saying "there's nothing I can do". I instructed her to cancel the order, and the subsequent one I'd made as a "just incase" order for a few days later, of note both amounts exceeded 150Euro just days apart from each other. She did not cancel either order. 21.30 the driver then pulls up, radio blaring from van with doors open, slamming and banging boxes which were stacked at my front door without even knocking as yet. Baby bedroom right above door- and now awake and upset. Never, ever ever again wasting my time shopping in Dunnes Stores. The time spent ordering online, then paying for delivery, then being home and present for delivery, then contacting customer care is just far too much stress, frustration and dissatisfaction, repeatedly to warrant a repeat shop with them.I'd frankly rather light four 50euro notes on fire before I'd give it to Dunnes Stores. They are now a laughable disaster and worse again, parasitic in attitude towards customers, an attitude I feel trickles down from the top. Hopefully more people wisely vote with their feet and go elsewhere to other grocery stores (can highly recommend lidl, especially their customer care and Supervalu and tesco also offer home deliveries). They won't be long changing their business model I suspect, in the meantime ill get the popcorn out to watch their market share spectacularly drop over the next few years/ months - ps Lidl & Aldi also do fantastic popcorn!

No delivery, money taken from account 3-5 days to get it back

I never received my delivery yesterday even though I had my designated time slot. Unfortunately I received no communication whatsoever. I emailed Customer Service last night .I awoke to an email this morning to say I had been refunded, unfortunately it was well under what had been taken from my account the day before. I then had to phone to find out what was going on - was I going to receive half of my delivery a day late as the full amount was not refunded?? I was told it was not Dunnes Stores fault that it was a driver issue. I was told it was because 'the customer was not home' . I actually could not believe this.!!!!! I now have to wait 3-5 days for 2 different refund amounts! This is not the first time this has happened with a Dunnes Stores Ballyvolane delivery. Unfortunately, I am now never going to use this online grocery service again as I had to go out last night at 8.30pm to buy breakfast & lunch groceries for this morning & I had to go today & do a full weekly shop. I wasted time last night awaiting the delivery , 2 emails & 2 phonecalls & no food & minus money from my bank account. Very poor customer service from Dunnes Stores Grocery .
