I had a really great experience with Toptal. They made hiring Glenn for my project really easy, and he was the perfect fit. One bit of feedback I had is that, at the end of our contract, I felt restricted by Toptal's hours restrictions. Glenn (i think fairly, my issue is definitely not with him) noted that he would not be able to work for me on an hourly basis any more because he wants to remain open for a full time or part time job, and he would not be able to do so if he kept working on my project. It would have been great if toptal had some sort of minimal hourly option. I won't need much work from Glenn for the next couple months while I fundraise for the next round of AI/software development, but it'd be great to have him on retainer for a maximum of 5 or so hours a week as a consultant to help me troubleshoot minor issues that will come up as I use and test the system he built for me.
