This is a great course for all levels of cello players

When I signed up for this cello course, I was excited to have opportunities to meet live over Zoom as well as watch the recorded sessions. I liked the flexibility and the topics. But I have been so impressed with the quantity and quality of all the material It is very expansive and so much to explore. They also have live sessions for practice, showcasing, and community building. I am learning and making fiends. This is a great course for all levels of cello players -- beginners and professionals. We all have strengths and areas to improve and this course has it all!

Cello Adventure

I have been with Stringlingo since May2025. It’s’ well structured program with individualized and group instruction, instructor feedback and interaction with the Stringlingo cello community has transformed my playing and enjoyment of playing. Stringlingo has exceeded my goal of just having a different musical journey to one that has been a real adventure that I plan to continue.

This is an amazing curriculum

This is an amazing curriculum. Accessible by cello players of varied levels and cello experience. Instructors clearly are having fun teaching students. A lovely mix of finger and bowing lessons and learning tunes using those lessons. The emphasis is on creating a community that shares and encourages. Successfully done.

So many good things to say

Where to begin...there are so many positive things to say. For starters, I appreciate that the lessons are recorded, allowing me to watch and re-watch each lesson, both to review and to catch what I might have missed/not fully understood the first time. An unexpected plus is that I find I do better with Stringlingo's group lessons over Zoom than with one-on-one private lessons as the issue of performance anxiety is removed. Submitting videos of homework can be a bit stressful, but it gets easier with practice and allows for feedback from the instructors and peers. The feedback, btw, is detailed and always helpful. In addition to weekly classes, the program includes supplemental videos and printed material with sheet music, scales, tips and techniques. Everyone in the Stringlingo community is extraordinarily kind and supportive. I'm four months in now and feel very satisfied with the program and my progress.

I had not played cello for 50 years and…

I had not played cello for 50 years and I did not want that chapter of my life to close without playing again! Stringlingo offered me opportunity to take lessons via zoom right in my home, which suited my personal needs. I am getting technique, music theory, personal instruction and the chance to begin to learn to play off the page. All things that I had missed in my early education. Excellent teaching! Thank you so much!!

Trustworthy and excellent teaching and Method

This is a very good school and you are well supervised. The Skoolapp is working well with lots of information and you have possibilities for live zoomsessions several times A week for feedback and follow ups.

This is the place to get off the page!

I was skeptical about learning music on line, but I was wrong! Daniel Plane is dedicated to helping cellists get off the page and play by ear in all sorts of styles- folk, jazz, blues, etc. There are plenty of recorded lessons, but the best part is the live group zoom sessions several times a week where we have developed a supportive community of cellist of all abilities. You post your "homework"(whatever you are working on) and Daniel and others will comment with encouragement and suggestions either in the chat or live during the zoom sessions. There are countless ways to learn to fit every learning style. I highly recommend this program.

This is a great cello coaching program…

This is a great cello coaching program if you are interested in Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Celtic, Folk or any improvisational music. In fact, if you want to hear a song or melody and play it on the cello by ear without sheet music, this program for you. Not only will you learn to hear and play melodies by ear, you will learn chord fingering, chord progressions, theory plus you’ll be able to map all the melody notes and chord patterns on the finger board in all positions. I am in my second year and I learned so much. Daniel is always adding new material and improvements. Join us!

Daniel is a wonderful teacher

Daniel is a wonderful teacher. The curriculum is awesome. I am really enjoying the program and am satisfied with my growth on my instrument. Husband notes: I’m very grateful for Daniel’s program. I’ve seen it reignite my wife’s passion to play. Learning to play by ear has opened up a new perspective and increased the quality of her music.
