Broken Clutch

Great at sales. Clutch broken within 4 months. Offered to buy the car back at less than that webuyanycar value. Had to replace clutch myself. Avoid both warranty and garage.

Amazing first car and buying experience

I recently bought my first car (a lovely red Peugeot 107) from Stratton Cars and they were amazingly helpful and kind throughout the whole process. Was helped by Allan (H) and they covered the MOT and tax and had it serviced right before I bought it. I love the car and am very happy. All round great experience, thank you so much!

Mike was very helpful when my car…

Mike was very helpful when my car developed faults 2 1/2 months into 3 month warranty! You never know reaction when so close but they got everything fixed (replaced alternator and wheel bearing and wing mirror that was whistling like an old kettle! as well as other bits) and car running nicely. Turned it around within days, nice and quick. Third car my family have purchased. All great. Will come back but hopefully not for a while as I love my little car 😁 Thanks.

Kind honest salesman with no pressure…

Kind honest salesman with no pressure on purchasing the vehicle. Car was ready when advised and give us various options on the finance side of things. Few marks that we didn’t notice or were advertised but it’s a second hand vehicle and we should have payed closer attention. Would use again

Dreadful garage that tells you nothing…

Dreadful garage that tells you nothing but lies and false promises. I was sold a car with numerous faults that I was told the garage had fixed but on further examinations by another garage they had not been fixed and when I complained it was all blamed on the age of the car. I believe ‘what do you expect for a car of that age’ was my response.

Very charming at point of sale but are not honest and tell lies to secure the sale

I bought a Ford Mondeo in October 2020. At the time, I asked if the cam belt had been changed. I was told that the engine was chain driven and didn’t have one. I was also told the car would have a full service. Having made enquires recently with my local garage regarding a service, I’ve been told that the car does have a cambelt which should’ve been changed when 10 years old. They also told me the last service was just an oil and filter change. If the cambelt was due at 10 years old, that would’ve been at the time I bought the car and It should have been done then. Instead they lied to me about it not having one. I’m now faced with a cost of £440 for the cam-belt plus £300 for the full service that was due when I bought the car. I was also told that any advisories found on the MOT would be rectified. Another lie. The spare key doesn’t work and the broken heated seats were never fixed as promised. I have emailed Stratton twice and received no reply. I wouldn’t have left this review if they’d responded and made right their lies.

No pressure sale, so pleased with my new car

I recently purchased a 10 year old Citroen C1 and have been so pleased with it. Upon arriving at Stratton Cars, I was left to look around the car on my own and take it out for a test drive unsupervised. I chatted to Alan after my test drive, who didn't try to sell me the car and didn't belittle me at all (unfortunately quite common for a young woman at car dealerships, but Alan and the team couldn't have been more different). The car had an MOT, service, a couple of things I had noticed were attended to and the car was delivered to me with half a tank of free petrol within the week. Thoroughly impressed with this company and have been recommending them ever since. I feel like I have the safety net of buying from a dealership (in terms of warranty and breakdown cover), but the friendliness, honesty and care of buying from a small company. The car itself is an absolute bargain - thank you to all at Stratton Cars.

I purchased an 11 year old Renault Clio…

I purchased an 11 year old Renault Clio low mileage automatic from Stratton cars. The price was a bit over the top but it included an engine and gearbox warranty. The staff were pleasantly efficient and attended to all of the minor faults on the car before I took delivery and also carried out a service, sorted out the MOT advisories - result a clean MOT Pass. On collection the car also had a full tank of petrol, a very nice gesture. Unfortunately the car developed a fault soon after purchase, (a faulty coil and plugs), but this was attended to under the warranty without quibble. Overall, a satisfactory transaction.
