When we got 2 new dogs last year, we decided to get pet insurance from Spot Pet and chose Platinum preventitive option and insurance for illness and accidents. I thought the premium was affordable and so far, this company is so fast in processing claims even when they need more info or records from my vet and they contact my vet for that and turnaround is fast. I've used 3 different companies now over the years for pet insurance and this one thus far, I can recommend.

Spot Pet Insurance has denied my claim multiple times for “missing medical records” that do not exist and cannot be provided. My dog is a rescue I adopted at age 2, and I have already submitted every available record from the rescue organization. Each time I call, I’m told the notes will be updated — yet they continue denying the claim for the same reason.Meanwhile, my dog’s condition is worsening and needs surgery. I bought insurance specifically to be protected in situations like this, and instead I’ve spent months resending documents and getting nowhere.If your pet is a rescue without a full lifetime medical history, expect serious problems getting claims approved.

Easy Peasy under stressful times
I am currently unemployed and my cat Owl ended up at the ER (of course it was the weekend). This devastated me until I submitted my claims. The process of evaluation to money in my account was a week. It was extremely easy and when I called, the ladies I talked to were so concerned for my Owl. I am so appreciative of Spot Insurance and HIGHLY recommend them.

Spot was very efficient and Customer Service took the time to explain everything about my coverage. I had lost my boxer to cancer. I got another boxer puppy and got the pet insurance right away and found Spot to be the best. Sadly, my puppy was diagnosed with kidney disease right after I had bought her from a breeder. Very sad. So far things have been going well. I just keep praying. I haven't had to use her pet insurance much at all. But I did not know her prescription food was covered by her insurance. That was a nice surprise!! I sent her receipts in and within a week my claim was processed!
