SkyExpress destroyed our stroller

SkyExpress destroyed our stroller on the last flight, and when we filed a complaint, they classified the damage as minor, even though the stroller was unusable afterward. I can understand that the staff isn't very helpful and the plane isn't exactly new, but with Sky Express, in addition to poor service, they also include damage to your belongings. After three-quarters of a year of complaints and arguing, all we got was a rejection. All that's left is to sigh and say: never again.

Worst flying experience ever

On 21 February 2026, flying from Athens to Prague, I had an unpleasant experience at the gate. The gate agent noticed that my cabin trolley looked slightly inflated. I explained that the extension zipper was broken and that there was only air under the lid. I even pressed it down to demonstrate this.They brought the metal cabin-size sizer and insisted that I place the trolley inside. It fit. However, the agent argued that I had to push it and that it did not “slide” in easily. I explained that the suitcase is actually smaller than the dimensions stated on their website (55 x 40 x 23 cm). Despite this, I was asked to open it and move my Chromebook into my handbag. After rearranging everything, she had me to place it in the sizer again. Only then was I allowed to board.The situation felt excessive and unnecessary. It is very frustrating to be put in that position in front of other passengers who are watching and waiting to see what will happen.On 28 February, flying back from Prague to Athens, the same issue occurred. I again explained about the broken zipper. The response was simply: “Show us.” This time I only had to demonstrate it once. However, another passenger was not as fortunate; his trolley wheels could not slide properly into the sizer. I also pointed out that the measuring device did not appear to match the dimensions published on their website, but the staff showed no interest in discussing it.Considering the high ticket prices and the rather basic service provided, one would expect not to face such rigid treatment over 2–3 cm. It creates the impression that staff are looking for reasons to charge passengers additional fees.As for the aircraft itself, the seats are extremely small. Anyone over approximately 50–60 kg will feel very cramped. You are squeezed between two other passengers, with no proper space for arms or legs. Since handbags must be placed under the seat in front, there is almost no legroom. On the return flight, we were not allowed to place our jackets in the overhead compartment and had to keep them on our laps for nearly three hours, which made an already uncomfortable situation worse.Overall, the experience was disappointing—from the staff attitude to the level of comfort onboard. It was my first time flying with this airline, and it will be my last.

Great experience

I'm writing this review because people tend to only leave them when the experience is not good. While this a semi no -frills airline in basic economy (free cookie and water, so not completely low cost), boarding was extremely efficient, both ground and cabin crew were friendly and professional, and the flight was on time. Overall, great experience (specially for the price and if for you a flight is mostly a mean to get from A to B). Flight LIS-ATH, 20/2/2026, 23.30

Better than the reviews made me expect

I’m writing this review because I felt the number of negative comments was a bit unfair compared to the service I personally experienced.I understand mistakes and accidents can happen, and sometimes it only takes one employee acting unprofessional for someone to leave a very negative review. I also believe negative feedback can point out to gaps that companies can improve and that busy seasons probably make a difference too.That said, I was genuinely scared after reading the reviews, to the point that I regretted booking my flight with Sky Express. In the end, everything went ok.Check-in was smooth, and the employee was polite and respectful. Not everyone needs to be smiling widely all the time, staff can be tired after dealing with thousands of passengers, but respect and basic politeness matter most, and that’s what I received.The flight was on time, the cabin crew on board was also polite, and my luggage arrived with me without any issues.Overall, based on my experience, I would fly with them again.

Amazing modern fleet airline

Amazing modern fleet airline.Sky express is pushing the limit high. All of their airplanes are super new. You get free snack and drink on board as long as free carry on luggage. People who go on vacation to Greece should choose the Greek airlines to travel as part of their experience.

Worst airlines ever

Bought a return ticket athens to london in aug 2025 for jan 2025. Tried to do an online check in the day before my flight but was getting a system error, not clear. Called their support which actually uses a paid 0801 line. Was told that they keep some seats for families etc and I should check in at the airport... Rushed earlier at the airport only to be told in a rude way that the flight is overbooked and I might not travel!!! I was shocked as I travel a lot, tens of flights every year but it was my first time to be on standby even though I had a valid ticket. Staff at gate even more rude, claiming its normal and its almost my fault!!! When I told that I never had this before in the 40 years I fly internationally, they told me that they dont believe i fly often!!! 4 of us in the same standby state. Actually there were at least 8 empty seats in that flight and all of us travelled in terrible shock. No apologies offered, like they did us a favor. Seems that this company does this trick systematically, several other reviews mention exactly the same. Was squashed in a seat with no usb and not even a seat bag. Still my knees were touching the seat in front altough i am only 1.75.No wifi. No food, just a single mini biscuit and juice or water.Only positive was landing on time in gatwick which is really disgusting, very dirty toilets.Return flight was still a shock, their system was again not allowing me to purchase a seat, had to call their support to be able to pay for that.Gatwick still quite awful with dirty toilets and a terrible hassle to reach.Return plane a bit better, had seat bags this time. No usb no wifi. Same single biscuit and juice or water. At least it was half empty in that flight.Its amazing that in 2026 an airline bought new planes without usb or wifi.Would never travel with them again as I want to be treated respectfully and I am too old for such travel or no travel shocks.

Great service. We are from New Zealand and are…

We are from New Zealand and are unfamiliar with the low cost airlines in Europe so were very nervous about booking with Sky Express, through Go to Gate.However we had good flights and found everyone pleasant to deal with.. especially when our flight from Naxos was delayed and we missed our connection to London.Sky Express put us up for the night in a 5 star hotel close to the airport, and rebooked us flights for the next day. This happened in June 2025 and I’ve always felt bad about not doing a review, but we’ve never forgotten the great service we had.I would definitely use this airline again.

OVERBOOKING!!!I couldn't not complete…

OVERBOOKING!!!I couldn't not complete the online check in. I contacted the airline and they informed me that i would have to check in at the airport 2 hours before the flight. I arrived at the airport 2 hours before the departure time only to be informed that due to overbooking there is a chance that i will not be able to fly with my booked flight (GQ 388) but with the next one which is in two hours from the scheduled one.

Customer 'non' Helpdesk

Not able to pay online due to a glitch in THEIR system. They were shocked I didn't have a Greek bank account to be able to transfer. No process in place to pay via the Customer Helpdesk (misnomer)... It was the last day of their sale so timing was critical.. Took 2 days to pay. I had to find someone with a Greek bank account in the end, not easy. Stick to Aegean

Standby seat & rude staff! Never again!

I was about to take my second flight with Sky Express (never again!). So I tried to check in online and it didn’t work. Went to Athens airport to the check-in counter and I’ve been informed that I got a so-called standby seat, meaning I don’t have one (yet) because the airline overbooked the plane. I’ve been advised to go to the gate in order to get my seat. After waiting there for a long time, the Sky Express Staff arrived and I inquired about my seat. I’ve been told that I’ll be called by them in 10-15 minutes, which didn’t happen. Instead, they started the check-in process. It was two women and one man. The man was just standing there doing nothing and also told me he can’t do anything (what was your point of being there?!). I approached one of the two women working for sky express at my gate: a young lean woman with brown hair, shoulder length, who unnecessarily started to hand out paper tags for the hand baggage (no one needs these things). When I kindly (!) approached her, she made it seem like she was stressed and just said „one minute“, but didn’t get back to me and instead, started to check-in the other passengers. When I approached her again, she started to get rude and raised her voice telling me to wait for „one minute“ again. When she just went about her business again, DELIBERATELY ignoring me, I asked the male sky express employee, who just stood there, who is in charge of the passengers for sky express and it was apparently then - and because I asked right next to the other passengers who were in line - that the Sky Express employee (the female with the short brown hair) came over giving me a very annoyed face and finally dealing with my issue. She printed my ticket with the seat assigned, didn’t say a word and left leaving me at the counter, returned and then told me to go to the end of the line. This woman is extremely rude and unprofessional and definitely has the wrong job! That’s not how you provide professional customer service, especially since the situation I was in has been caused by sky express, not by myself! Terrible service! I heard other passengers had issues with the rude staff as well.

Dirty airplane. Stuff were unhelpful and discriminatory. We happened to be rebooked to this airline and I dare say, I would never fly it for free even

I hate to leave bad reviews

I hate to leave bad reviews. I have given this airline a 2 star review because there were no issues with the plane transporting ourselves - they got us from A to B (Milos island to Athens) safely and the staff were friendly.The issue is with our luggage. We paid for our hold suitcase to be put on board the plane; but this did not happen. Our luggage was left in Milos airport (along with many other guests) and we were not made aware of this until we got to Athens (when we had to go to the lost luggage area as our luggage did not arrive). Upon asking staff how this happened, they told us that this happens every time you board this flight from Milos island to Athens and the reason they cannot put luggage on the plane is because the plane is so small, it would not be able to carry all our luggage. It would have been nice to have been told this beforehand! I am glad we were safely transported, but our luggage took an extra 4 days to get to us! Luckily this did only take 4 days and Athens airport sent it directly to our home address; but the experience was very stressful and communication about this was not good. At one point I was convinced that they had completely lost our luggage and that we would never see it again (luckily we did however)!What made it more frustrating is that when we got to Athens airport and we found a SkyExpress kiosk (to ask for more information about our luggage), the staff told us that we could buy lots of new essentials that we would be missing for a couple of days (he even told us to buy new coats!) and that if we did; we can send the receipts to SkyExpress and we would be reimbursed for these costs. Luckily we only bought the absolute essentials (make-up, toothpaste, shampoo etc) because SkyExpress have not reimbursed our costs at all and simply do not reply to our emails.I hardly ever leave reviews and I think this is the only bad review I have ever left. But we are not happy with the stress that this company caused us and we will not be boarding SkyExpress again, unless they offer us at least an apology / proper explanation! They are falsely selling tickets which include hold luggage. If you board SkyExpress from Milos island - please be aware that your luggage may not be put on the plane with you (even if you have paid for this!).

Athens to Santorini ( and back) in December 2025

We have recently travelled from Athens to Santorini ( and back) by SkyExpress airlines. We have nothing but appreciation for this airline and have no reason for complaints whatsoever. Why I wanted to make this effort in expressing my positive experience with this airline is because, before I made the bookings with SkyExpress airlines, I had read numerous negative reviews about them. I think it’s unfair both to the airlines and potential flyers when only the negative experiences are highlighted. Anyway… if it helps, our flight was on time both ways, we had no problem with our baggage ( we were carrying extra bags so we bought the extra bag allowance at the time of the booking itself), the staff was courteous and we had a comfortable & smooth flight both to Santorini and back to Athens.

Completely irresponsible company.

Completely irresponsible company.Half an hour after the total flight black-out in Athens , without any relevant information to us passengers , they proceeded with our boarding.The crew kept us in the plane for four hours , without any concrete information about whether we would fly or not.The hostesses were pratically absent : not a check of how we passengers were coping in this uprecedent situation.They stood by the pilots'cabin, smiled to parents with babies and offered a glass of water to the few of us who asked one. To my question, the answer was that they are entitled to keep passengers on board for a maximum of two hours, in case of an unprecedent event, not moreAfter three hours wait in the plane, they decided to offer a glass of water to all passengers if they wisher but no other beverages or food , because "these are served only on air"As a greek citizen and as a clinical doctor , I feel disapointed and worried by the poor quality of service that Sky Express provided during this critical situation.I will never fly again with this company.Loula Papageorgiou, MD

Poor communication and unprofessional handling

Flight number: GQ601We were waiting at the gate, no information about boarding was given (it was 11:20 and the flight was at 11:30). The airport announced that the flight was delayed to 15:30, which would have made us miss our connection flight. Then, everyone went to the gate, but the woman was really disrespectful saying it was not her problem. We asked for a contact number which they wouldn't provide, only to check it on our own. At 11:40 we came back at the gate and people were magically boarding, they didn't provide any information, how could we have known? No compensations were provided despite the inconveniences.
