SSI is JV compared to PADI don't throw away your money
I did the life long scuba certificate and paid the money, took the course, got the card , traveled on dive trips with the card. Lost the card now SSI doesn't keep records. so they want me to redo the course and pay money to get the course i already had done and showed i had done through log books and training records

Is this how Idaho Dive Pirates and…
Is this how Idaho Dive Pirates and there instructors Act? Or even SSI? Insulting my student because she is posing for a picture at the end of class on a pool bottom? Benjamin G Hadfield. I will stand behind my students every time they're in the right. And I will let them know when they are in the wrong. If you're worried about a student posing for a picture on a pool bottom after class you have a problem. There are several pictures on your Facebook where you are holding Aquatic Life and you are on the bottom and your also forcing sea turtles into corners. All for a stupid picture. At one point in time I would have recommended Idaho dive Pirates too many people but I don't think I will now. They and SSI have made their statement. There are several pictures of your students on the bottom in the pool and they are not under the instructor's immediate supervision. And they have their instruments and consoles hanging everywhere is trim not important?

Do not pay this company upfront. Abysmal service
If possible, I would give this company zero stars. As a PADI qualified open water diver, I decided to try SSI for my dry suit ticket. I contacted my local centre, paid upfront, did the coursework and then waited for my practical theory and experience to be organised. And waited. And waited. One year on and still nothing. Whilst I acknowledge that COVID has had an impact, the local centre has had plenty of opportunity to organise this. When I asked for a partial refund as I am now moving out of the area, that's when I saw what this company is about. No refunds given and an expectation that I should travel an extra 300 miles for my certificate. When I complained, a wall of silence.Stick with PADI or BSAC, at least you may get customer service.

Try SSI
I'm dual certified. My other certification is with PADI. I'm extremely impressed with SSI and their coursework. Their method of instruction is monumentally better than PADI. I left SSI with a very good understanding of how to dive, mechanics, and physics. This was all through their open water course.I did PADI's open water course and was very underwhelmed. The spelling/grammatical/formatting issues in their books is disconcerting. Their online layout is hard to figure out and may/may not work. If this all seems bogus, just check PADI's ratings and reviews (1 star or 1.3 out of 5)
