Practical process and good experience
Beautiful designs, simple, elegant, and thought through. Flexible purchase process too. We switched designs part way through and this was not an issue, because preliminary and final designs are separate. Separating this for purposes of shopping around vs final design are useful for a first time home building experience.

I just finished my build last fall (I built the Barnhouse Retreat!) and had such a great experience building with my DEN plans. I cannot say enough about Mike and his team. The designs are clean, stylish and efficient and also super easy to revise during the building process. The house turned out so much better than I could have hoped for. Their customer service is unmatched, they are always able to answer questions and give advice and genuinely just want to help make the process of building a home easy and accessible to anyone. I would highly recommend using DEN plans for anyone who is looking for an affordable alternative to working with an architect or engineer to design from scratch, while not sacrificing on quality and design.

Couldn't love DEN more
We have been really impressed with DEN, ever since we started our first construction project in 2023 with their A-Frame 2.2 model. Since then, we have build two furhter DEN models and continue to be impressed with the quality of their plans and the ease of dealing with the company. Highly recommend, espeically for anyone looking to build a cabin for the first time.

We had a great experience with DEN…
We had a great experience with DEN building our Barnhouse plus in the Finger Lakes. We learned a lot in the process and are so happy with the unique cabin we built. We are starting on Airbnb and are hoping to get a lot of people attracted by the unique Scandinavian vibe of our place, it’s unique and we love spending time there. We had good experience with the DEN support team to modify our plans and when we had questions. Start your adventure with a company that cares about design!

Beautiful designs. Solid plans. A+ Customer Service
We'd been looking into custom home builds and honestly, the quotes we were getting were eye-watering. Having detailed plans from DEN helped us keep our builder honest since everything was already specced out. And I think the builder was happier as well since there were no mysteries.The plans themselves were super solid. And DEN's support throughout the process was what you want as a customer but sadly is often not the case. They hooked us up with all the local connections we needed - contractors, suppliers, you name it. Made the whole thing way less stressful than trying to figure it all out ourselves.A++

DEN Outdoors is an amazing building solution
DEN Outdoors was the perfect solution for our building needs. The designed plans were easy to understand and hand over to our builder. We made some modifications along the way and the response to the final product has been spectacular. We built the A Frame 2.2 and had such a positive experience that we decided to build the L Barnhouse and Modern Loft cabin. Highly reccomend to anyone looking to build!
