Seriously, I believe CookUnity is the best compared to the other meal-prep services in NYC. The food is great. Obviously some are better than others but that is expected. The service is excellent, when you need it.

After 6 months, we're still happy.
First of all, the food is always fresh and delicious. The selection is great, and the prices are reasonable. I'm a vegetarian and have not run out of things to try. (Plus I repeat several of my favourites). The only "complaints" I have are: 1) the website is not intuitive and we struggle sometimes to place our orders; 2) the pricing structure is confusing; and 3) you cannot speak to a person except via text messages. We Had been ordering 8 meals per week on the 6-meal plan and overpaying. The system never suggested we upgrade the plan - just $5'ish per week, but it's money! And we ended up paying for the "unity pass" which we did not understand, but we did finally figure out that it saves us money in shipping (even if we don't order "premium" meals). Speaking of "premium" meals, on the vegetarian list, there aren't any. All in all, we've been customers over 6 months and are still pleased and we continue to recommend the service.

I made the mistake of not checking the Better Business Bureau before signing up for CookUnity. Had I done even five minutes of research, I would have seen their F rating and the 187+ complaints filed against them. That should have been my warning.My experience was every bit as bad as those reviews suggest.Trying to reach customer support was an exercise in frustration. There is no easy way to speak to an actual person, and when responses do arrive, they’re delayed and unhelpful. For a company that deals with perishable food and recurring billing, making it this difficult to get assistance is inexcusable.Worse, I received multiple meals that had expiration dates just two days after delivery. For a weekly meal subscription, that’s completely unacceptable. The entire point of the service is convenience and flexibility — not scrambling to eat food immediately before it spoils. Sending customers nearly expired meals feels careless at best.The final insult was continuing to charge my card after I had closed my account. Canceling should mean canceling. Instead, I had to dispute the charge because there was no clear or responsive way to fix the issue through their support channels. Being billed after termination isn’t just frustrating — it destroys trust.Between the near-expired meals, the inaccessible customer service, and the continued charges after cancellation, this has been one of the worst subscription experiences I’ve had. I expected reliability and quality. What I got was stress, wasted money, and hours spent fixing their mistakes.I strongly advise anyone considering CookUnity to research thoroughly before signing up. I certainly wish I had.

CookUnity is a must try for quality and great tasting meals
CookUnity is a legit meal delivery service with a huge variety of meals for all diets ! We have tried a few meal services in the past and all fell flat on our expectations .. well enter CookUnity .. some good friends recommend us giving them a try and so we decided to give them a go.. being skeptical of course still from the last few services we tried that we didn't like .. well our first order came and was impressed with the minimal packaging and promptness of the delivery window as they promised, then the quick cooking instructions on each meal and well the big test was the quality and taste of the meals we selected from a very diverse listing from a wide range of categories.. we were very impressed with all the e meals we tried that week! From the Shrimp Enchiladas to the Mission style beef and chicken burritos .. they were all delicious.. we have been customers now going on two months now..! There is a meal for the pickiest eaters like our 13 year old son who is a fan of the meals he picked out.. Highly recommend giving them a shot!

Tasty Meals That Fit My Lifestyle
I’ve truly enjoyed my CookUnity meals. They’ve been tasty, well-seasoned, and easy to prepare — which is important in my current season of life.What I absolutely LOVE is that the meals can be heated in the oven. I don’t use a microwave, and so many meal delivery companies only offer microwavable containers. CookUnity gives you options, and that matters to me.It feels good to enjoy chef-crafted meals that fit my lifestyle and values. Convenience without compromise — that’s a win in my book!

Sooo yummy and healthy!
I used to spend hours meal prepping on Sundays to make my weeks easier. A friend suggested I try Cook Unity, and I am so glad I did! Not only do I have my Sundays back, I am looooving the meals! Thank you chefs!! There are so many choices and types of cuisine, and I love being able to choose meals that are higher in protein and lower in calories too. You won't regret it. There is literally something for everyone!

Don't trust this dishonest company.
Received Cook Unity for 3 weeks. Then suddenly the 4th week wasn't delivered. The delivery failure was because they left the lot number off my address so delivery person couldn't locate my house. It was delivered the first 3 weeks with no problem. Don't know why suddenly the 4th week the lot number was left off. I requested a refund of the $88.88 and was told as a one-time courtesy they would refund it. It has now been 4 weeks and the refund has not been received. I paused the next week as I was going in the hospital for major surgery. Then I cancelled my account as I don't want to deal with a dishonest company. There are many more meal delivery companies that are honest and want my business.

Very frustrating to work with the company and get clear answers
I purchased this for my daughter's birthday. She wanted to try it out. I did all the research and thought this would be good. She had to go out of town on business and so we started it when she got back. When I received my bill the first had the 60% discount and the second the 20% and then no discount for the last two. Undenounced to me it had an expiration date, so two of the meals were charged at full price. They were all used in January but because I had given them all the information and my credit card I guess there was a one month expiration date, not just a subscription for four meals. So frustrating. The company will make no compensenation at all.

Great job, Cook Unity!
I'm handicapped, and unable to go to the store. I found Cook Unity and am awestruck by how good their food is! I have a poor appetite usually, but not any more! The food is the best I've ever tasted, and I think I've sampled them all. I am so happy I joined Cook Unity, and now I look forward to meals!

Do better people! We tried cookunity & loved it so much. My husband has been ordering it weekly. We moved in with my parents to help them as my mom has LB dementia. They are 80 and don’t drive, use computers, and their phones. I set them up with an account & they were so excited to not have to worry about food anymore. Since we are all living together now we had 2 accounts. One for my husband & I & one for my parents. We had it set to be delivered on 2/22. When mine was delivered I wondered why my parents wasn’t there. I got on to my mom’s account & it had been locked. The order was cancelled with no notice. They didnt have any food for the week since they were counting on that. If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been trying to contact them & speak to someone live but that’s been unsuccessful. I kept thinking they were going to make it right but I haven’t heard. Now it’s 5:00pm and I’m off to run to several stores to get them food for the week. I thought they would make it right & all they offered was 20% off her next order. You just lost a 16 meal a week order & a 12 meal a week order. This is unacceptable.

CookUnity is by far the best home delivery meal I have used. Being able to not only choose my meal, but my chef is like going to a restaurant every evening!! Love it highly recommend!

1/5 – Disappointing and Frustrating Experience
I ordered CookUnity to try their food through a one-month promotional offer. My intention was simple: test the service for a month and then decide whether it was worth continuing.What I didn’t expect was how misleading their billing process would be.Apparently, if you don’t cancel before the promotional month ends, they automatically charge you full price for the next box. I understand that policy, and I take full responsibility for missing the cancellation deadline. However, what happened afterward is what I cannot understand.As soon as I noticed the charge, I contacted customer support. I was told that the second box would be placed on hold and would not be sent that week, but instead in three (3) weeks. Since the box had not shipped, I asked for a refund. They refused and said they could only offer store credit. Despite having plenty of time to stop the order, they would not issue a refund and instead offered credit for food I neither wanted nor had received.When I told them I wanted to cancel my membership entirely, they informed me that I would lose the credit if I canceled before using it—meaning the $100 credit would be lost forever and I would never be able to recover it. I canceled anyway because I was extremely upset.That is unacceptable.I would understand refusing a refund if the box had already shipped—but it hadn’t. They themselves confirmed it wouldn’t ship for weeks. The entire experience felt unfair and extremely customer-unfriendly.Because of this, I canceled my membership and ultimately had to file a chargeback to get my money back.Final advice: If you’re curious and want to try CookUnity, make sure you cancel before the renewal date. Otherwise, you may end up paying full price for food you never receive—and fighting customer service just to get your money back.

Best food delivery service
I have tried several food delivery services. I am so happy I found Cook Unity! I have been ordering meals from them for several months and they are the BEST! The food is delicious with so much variety to choose from. The portions are generous; very quick and easy to prepare. Company communication, packaging and delivery are A +++++

Cook Unity has the best selection of…
Cook Unity has the best selection of ready made meals of any food delivery service I've tried. With over 300 options every week and so many healthy choices, it is an easy winner. One of the reasons I started using Cook Unity was because you can order individual meals for each member of your household, so everyone gets to eat what they actually want. Bonus is most meals are easily microwaved in under 3 minutes!
