Carvana’s 150 point inspection means nothing
Carvana’s 150 point inspection promises brake pads at a minimum of 4mm. An independent Honda dealer measured mine at 3mm. When I raised the discrepancy Carvana acknowledged it as a misannotation on their own report yet took zero accountability. I was bounced between departments, given scripted responses and directed to a third party warranty partner with no guarantee the repair would be covered or fixed at no charge. They made a documented promise about the condition of this vehicle and did not honor it. When confronted with their own error they hid behind corporate bureaucracy instead of simply making it right. Always get an independent inspection within your 7 day window. Do not trust their 150 point inspection report alone

They sold me a car that had a flea…
They sold me a car that had a flea infestation, mold, wreaked so bad of chemicals from trying to cover it up I could taste it even with the windows all down, the transmission was bad, breaks were bad, odometer is broken, interior trim busted/rearview mirror barely hanging on, and despite all those chemicals they used to try to cover up the bugs and mold, there was still crumbs, tobacco leaf and a nickel leftover from whoever had it last. This was a car they had for sale for $25,000!!! A 2020 Honda CR-V. I wouldn't give someone a dollar for this thing. Returning it immediately, furious that they would even have something this horrible in their inventory.

Women in Pennsylvania should not use Carvana
If you are a married woman living in Pennsylvania, it is REALLY REALLY hard to get a car from Carvana. First, is their "proof of identity." They apparently want a utility bill in YOUR NAME FIRST, tied to your address. My bills are largely in my husband's name. It took quite a bit of arm twisting, but they finally accepted a sewer bill in my name. We argued because the bill says "INVOICE" and not "Bill." Seriously. Second, they fail to notify Pennsylvania residents that "temporary insurance" is unacceptable. My car got delivered all they way here (2 hours for the driver) only to have my insurance rejected. They wouldn't accept temporary insurance, only a minimum of 30 days with an insurance card. My company doesn't do that. SO my car went back to Carvana until such time that I get a meeting with Erie Insurance to get a full policy with an insurance card for a CAR THAT I DON'T EVEN HAVE.

They think they're the only company around with this business model but they're not
We keep giving them more paperwork and they keep asking for more and different things. They absolutely are refusing to accept something that is 1,000% suitable substitute. And their customer service is atrocious. There is literally no one to call because the people that you call all they do is sit there and apologize and apologize and tell you someone's going to call you back but no one ever does

Caution for First-Time Carvana Buyers!
UPDATED NOTE: After Carvana's team replied to my review below, they re-listed the vehicle we returned, at the original price (no reduction) WITHOUT disclosing the engine swap or voided powertrain warranty. Transparency does not appear to be a value in practice.-----We purchased a 2025 vehicle with only 10,000 miles and a clean Carfax — exactly the kind of purchase that should feel straightforward and safe. It wasn't.Our personal mechanic identified an unusual oil leak shortly after delivery. When we contacted Carvana's chat support for guidance, they directed us to the Toyota dealership, assuring us the issue would be covered under warranty. They also granted us an extension on our 7-day return window to accommodate the appointment — which, in hindsight, was the right call for the wrong reasons. At the dealership, we discovered the vehicle's engine had been fully replaced by the previous owner — a rental company — after a negligent oil change destroyed the original engine. This was never disclosed by Carvana. Because the engine was not original to the vehicle, the manufacturer's warranty was completely voided. Toyota charged us $165 for diagnostics on a problem that Carvana directed us to investigate. When we asked Carvana to reimburse the diagnostic fee — a direct result of following their own instructions — they refused, citing that we should have used one of their in-network mechanics instead. The same Carvana that told us to go to the dealership. The clean Carfax was not the protection we assumed it would be. A replaced engine is a material fact that should have been disclosed at the point of sale, and wasn't.To anyone considering Carvana: request a dealer-conducted inspection before your return window closes, regardless of mileage or Carfax status. Don't assume a clean report means a clean vehicle. And if Carvana's own support team gives you guidance, get it in writing — because they may not stand behind it.

I purchased a used 2015 Subaru Outback…
I purchased a used 2015 Subaru Outback in 01/2026 in Lancaster, PA. My husband passed away on 2/19/26. I had to drive from PA to San Antonio, Tx. In Clarksville, TN brake light came on. I took it to Subaru dealership, and they didn't have the parking brake cable so they zip tied it and wrapped black electrical tape and said this would get me home to TX. I've been to 2 different SilverRock in network mechanics and currently at the 3rd one for possible repair. The first 2 in network mechanics found I have severe extensive rust damage to undercarriage of Subaru and in good faith couldn't fix my car because it was structural unsafe to drive. SilverRock made aware and said they only have limited courage. Carvana stated they performed a 150-point inspection but yet missed that Subaru is structurally unsafe to drive, brake fluid was contaminated and emergency parking brake didn't work, nor does my lane assist or collision alert. I am overwhelmed dealing with my husband's sudden death and now also dealing with a Subaru Outback that's unsafe to drive and still have to pay for.

Horrible Experience where they damaged…
Horrible Experience where they damaged my vehicle during shipping then claimed to fix it taking an extra week plus and then brought a even more damaged and dirty vehicle which I had no choice but to reject. When you reject a vehicle they consider it cancelled and remove all history of it or your purchase from your account which means you have no idea what you paid or what for as the vehicle listing is gone as well. They also wont contact you about the 10 -15 days it will take to get you money back and since they cancelled your order you don't get to write reviews about it. Incredibly sketchy organization with no concern for you or your money!! BUYER BEWARE!!!

Carvana Is No Nirvana
When Carvana got my car's model wrong and gave me a lower price than Carmax, I was told I could correct that. They were wrong; I had to wait over the weekend for them to correct it themselves. When it did come back it was $1000. lower! Incompetent, bait-and-switch operation.Go to Carmax--fast, clean, no BS.

My dad owned a car dealership so I know a few things
My dad owned a car dealership so I know a bit about buying/selling cars. I was reluctant to go the Carvana route, but I was looking for a very specific Mercedes E 350 convertible- in terms of color, milage and vintage. I eventually found a car that met my requirements and decided to cross my fingers and pull the trigger. I have to say I am more than pleased. Not only with the condition of the car- I had it checked by two different shops during my 7 day trial period; but also, the delivery and the warranty. A rather expensive ($1,900 repair) showed up during my 100 warranty period . It was not the kind of thing that anyone could have foreseen. I did have to pay a $350 deductible for out of network service, BUT i got to take it to the shop of MY choice, which was a Mercedes shop I have been using for years. The only one more surprised than me when Carvana stood up to the repair, was my mechanic, because extended warranties he has interacted with usually won't cover this type of repair. Finally, Carvana gave me the best trade-in number on my vehicle. The entire transaction was just about perfect. The only thing that would have been better was that talking with some of their customer service "advocates" was often difficult because some these folks had very difficult accents to understand. I was a total skeptic at the beginning- but now I don't think I would be a pre-owned vehicle from anywhere else.

Lowball offer
I got a quote from Carvana for my 2017 BMW 330i. They offered $6,200. I put it on Autotrader for $10,500 and sold it the very next day.

Recently purchased a 25 Buick Envista…
Recently purchased a 25 Buick Envista with Trade on my 18 Ford Fusion, My trade offer was initially quoted an amount for the value and when we had to edit the payoff amount which was less than the original amount the value on my fusion updated and reported 1,000 less than original value keep in mind the trade in offer was not to expire till 3/1/26 and nothing else was changed. When I inquired about the offer changing carvana said they had no control over that and no way to take it back to the original offer that was in place. I moved forward with my purchase and made the trade and was pleased with the process thereafter, when I received my new car delivered by Keaton,, he was a delight and I was very pleased with the whole experience Keaton was very respectful and extremely informative and explained everything I needed to know moving forward. I’m still in the final stage of processing registration and payoff on my trade and hoping all goes as smooth as the delivery went. I’m extremely pleased with my purchase thus far and do not regret nor do I foresee having to utilize the 7 day return offerThe few times I had to speak with customer advocate by phone was very helpful and everyone was very friendly, overall this was a great experience and I’m glad to have had the opportunity to do this . I’m looking forward to knowing all has been finalized and move forward. My 25 Buick Envista is definitely everything I wanted and more and exceeded my expectations. Thank You Keaton and all at Carvana for a great experience Pennie

Truly awful experience
Do not recommend— they delivered a vehicle with incorrect tire, crack on windshield, among many issues with paint damage that were not disclosed. They do not allow many complaints and do not cover glass so we’re screwed. The only remedy they suggest is a trade in which we lose thousands from shipping. Save yourself the hassle and do not buy Carvana.*** edited to add their warranties do not cover cosmetic damages even though undisclosed and not visible on listing. I purchased a car with $300 tires that was delivered with $150 tire and there’s zero accountability. Do not be fooled by this company’s false promises.

I don’t know were to begin ..,so it’s my second vehicle purchase ( first went exactly perfectly) and seems because I’m buying it from a credit union every thing is going bad !The check is mailed and I’m returning a vehicle that I have and CARVANA refused to take it back because my insurance card doesn’t have my middle name on it wow. I have a vehicle now that was delivered and and that never was the problem until I decided to finance through different companies. The car buyers experience is not correct…

Repeated Delivery Failures and No Ownership
I reserved a 2021 Nissan Titan XD on December 22, 2025. I was told the preparation timeframe would be approximately 10 working days. The vehicle was not delivered until February 23, 2026.During that time:Multiple confirmed delivery appointments were cancelled. On one occasion, I was notified shortly before departure that the vehicle failed final inspection due to a hood latch issue. The financing process experienced repeated reversals tied to third-party lender information, causing additional delays.Different representatives provided conflicting explanations. What was most frustrating was the lack of ownership. Every call resulted in an apology, but no proactive follow-up, no clear escalation path, and no meaningful attempt to resolve the repeated scheduling failures. Escalation did not change the outcome. This was not a minor inconvenience. It required repeated schedule changes, lost work time, and weeks of uncertainty.Carvana markets “Better Customer Experiences.” My experience did not reflect that.I hope leadership reviews the operational readiness and communication processes involved so future customers do not experience the same pattern.

Feels like Bait and Switch..
Feels like Bait and Switch... when I picked up the car.Did all the paperwork, insurance, etc. and drove 2 hours to the Carvana store to pick-up the car. When I went to drive the newly purchased car. It had 17" Wheels instead of the 19" wheel that was advertised in the listing as one of the reasons I would love the car. The person said he would notate that the wheels were wrong and I would have to talk to Customer Support to get the correct wheels. After 2 days of being passed around to different departments. They gave me the choice of $100 (19" wheels and tires are $1,500-$2,000), or returning the car. Returning the car would be a huge production of paperwork and switch Insurance and trying to get my Trade in back but also losing the Non-refundable Transportation fee. Will neve do business with Carvana again. And will tell anyone looking for a new car, not to do business with Carvana. The 7-day return policy is joke, because of all the hassle of needing everything switched over and setup before ever seeing the car, only to have something other than what was in the listing.Unfortunate that the promised ease of buying a car online did not work. Will not make this mistake again.

Good AND horrible.
We sold an Equinox directly to Carvana, and in a separate sale bought a Trax. Now. The sale with the Equinox went great. We got our money the same day. It was a fabulous experience. The sale for the Trax was good - we didn't have any issues there minus a delay in delivery which was frustrating but not a make or break. HOWEVER:1. I was given the wrong temp tag and registration for the Trax. It belonged to someone else with a Toyota Corolla! Good lord. 2. The Trax ended up in the shop TWICE in the same six days of having it. The morning after the Trax was delivered to us, the steering wheel and car itself was vibrating/shaking. The first shop noted the rear brakes and rotors were shot, a crack in the top of the oil container (unsure how to describe the part) in the engine, and something else I can't even remember. Silver Rock paid for it thankfully. Three days later I'm still smelling burning, and still having issues; take it to another shop. THEY discover the rear passenger caliber is locked. It gets replaced. STILL SHAKING LIKE MAD over 50mph, still occasionally having a burning smell, and I'm fairly certain a belt is frayed because now there is also a squealing.I otherwise absolutely LOVE my Trax, and despite the above mentioned she's otherwise in great shape. She's awesome. But like... guys. Get your shit together!!! I now have to pay for more expenses out of pocket that should NEVER have been an issue to begin with!!!!!!
