CREDIT CARD DETAILS STOLEN AND USED AT MORRISONS!!!Beware allowing your card to be taken out of sight when in branch awaiting collection. The sales guy took mine and 2 weeks later, my credit card was used fraudulently for online shopping at Morrison’s in Bradford when I live in the south!!

Unpleasant experience
Unpleasant experience. Rented a car at gate du Nord Paris and staff just handed the key without checking. Gave me a piece of paper with only in French. We found the car had quite a few demages and the tyre pressure warning was on. When we returned the car, another staff pointed out the demages and I told him we took a video and I bought the excess protection. Because I accidentally bought the excess protection, everything was fine. Otherwise Im sure I would be conned hundreds or over €1000. Unbelievable. Do not use.

Never Avis again!!
Never Avis again!!! I rented a Avis-car on the rentalcars .com. When I came to Tivat Airport Montenegro the station manager claimed that I had not ordered insurance. He refused to hand over the car, and after arguing with him for 20 minutes, I had to order the extra insurance....160 euro! I checked with rentalcars and it turned out that this Avis-man was lying to me. Insurance with rentalcars was ok and I also have a travel insurance covering it! Stay away!

never more
We rent a car with Avis and paid a drop off supplement. The car suddenly broke; they recognised it was not our fault and soon got us a replacement. We returned the car in time, with the full of gasoline. After 10 days, they charged us for 125,00 £. We asked why via email and phone, no reply. We are very used to rent car around the world, but that never happened before, this is the worst ever happened. We would never use Avis again and we are telling that to everybody: beware !

Avis are a shocking company to deal with, They steal money from your account and then make you beg for weeks to get it back. Service centres are based in eastern europe and levels of english are shocking. VERY VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPEREICNE, after service is is poor, please go to another company, please do not hire from avis.

Never ever Avis - cheating is an art for them.
Booked a Opel Cascade convertible from Avis Nice through Travellocity - and got the normal offer for the self risk insurance. My Mastercard covers that, so i ticked no thank you. At the desk in Nice i could not get the Opel, but for the very small amount of 70 euro pr day !! i would have a BMW instead. I insisted on my Opel, and ended up in a Cooper Mini, which i was told was a huge upgrade - actually it is a huge downgrade. Then the guy tried to sell me the refueling, which he claimed was a great saving. I have tried that in Miami and got a rip off - so no thanks Avis. Then to the big surprise he told me that there was absolutely no insurance on the car - because i booked it on an US website. Off course i protested heavily, how on earth could i know that, it was never mentioned when i booked the car - but nothing helped.
I went away in a smaller car then i booked, with a self risk of 25.000 euro - i repeat - twenty-five thousands euro.
When i checked the car for scratches - there were several more than mentioned on the contract, and the moment we left the Parking area the gas meter dropped a pin - the tank wasn't full.
The next day i went back to Avis, to complain another time on the very bad treatment, and tried to buy the insurance - and got no where, but was told i could give the car back, and rent it again for a new price including insurance - off-course i would then loose the money i already paid - that was Avis policy.
I returned the car to Avis and went to Citer to get another car - and will never ever rent a car from Avis. They can come up with so many different stories, and you have no chance to convince them of anything else.
Avis - We try harder - to get your money and screw you.

Avis Budget or Cartrawler ?. Stuck in the middle
Gave in my 4 day rental car @ Avis Budget cars in Munich Airport 20-01-15. Extra charges applied. Same for 3 other cars rented by my colleagues. Dont know whether its Avis Budget or Cartrawler yet. Will find out.
Talked to Customer service in Sweden - kind and proffesional. I am awaiting now to see how fast they respond, and what will come out. Maybe Avis Budgetcars are not to blame.

Rip-off
Rentes a car at Avis through a 3rd party, where I had paid for insurance (all inclusive). When I picked up the car at Avis, they said the insurance I had bought would not cover me, so I had to pay for another one. This turned out not to be true, so I paid for double insurance.
Furthermore, I received a ticket, and Avis automatically charged me £30 for passing on my personal information as an administration fee, so I could receive the ticket by email at my home address. Well thank you Avis.

Half wheel pressure in tyres and non functioning GPS
We rented a brand new car from AVIS but when we got it, it had half the air pressure in the tyres and warning lights were blinking the second we started the car. We had to waste half an hour, finding a place to pump the tyres, almost missing our ferry.
The GPS we rented from AVIS, had not been updated in more than 2 years, costing us at least 50km of driving because it didnt know the roads we used. In the end, we had to rely on local signs and a map we bought on a gas station.
Our compensation for a dangerous car and a non functioning GPS? The rental cost of the GPS, not counting the extra km we had to use - and we were limited to 100km/day, so we had to pay a fee for the additional kms we had to use, due to their shoddy GPS.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Avis = Gran Canaria hustlers
Rented a car through my travel agency at Avis Grand Canaria airport. Everything was prepaid. The contract showed that the car had a single scratch, but a visiuel examination showed several others, which then were marked.
We delivered the car back with a full tank, and this was confirmed by the man i charge. Never the less I now find my creditcard charged for about 80€.
I complained to Avis and got this answer: "We would like to ask you to send us the gas receipt what you got after refuelling the car. We would need this, in order to refund you with the gas charge."
I paid cash and didn't get a receipt, so I can't prove that the tank was full, but it was, and it was confirmed by the man i charge. So help me God!
