I have two cats and believe that they are just as deserving of hiking adventures as dogs are. My partner and I got two backpacks (one Navigator and one Fat Cat) for them, and they are obsessed! They carry super comfortably, and the side pockets are great for carrying my keys and some treats.
Travel Cat offers a wide assortment of supplies for the cat parent who wants to travel with their furrever friends or simply enrich their pets’ environment. We own 2 Navigator backpacks, which are spacious and comfortable for transporting our cats. We leave the Navigator backpacks open & available to our cats in our apartment and the cats love to go into the backpacks to nap. We also own some of the harnesses and leashes and use them when we want to walk our cats. We also own the Accordion travel cat bed, which we have set up in our apartment and we often find 2 cats cuddled up in the bed. The cats also like it for scratching. Travel Cat has always delivered the products in a timely fashion and I have my eye on a few more products I’d like to order from Travel Cat. What I really like is the owners’ enthusiasm for making great products for cats and how they bring the community together to deepen the experience of having a pet and helping cats in general. I have had nothing but great experiences with TravelCat. I've bought several of their products, including the Navigator, a backpack carrier, that is EXCELLENT. It can be worn as a regular backpack OR it can be worn on your chest! My cats have preferred riding in front, where they can see my face. It has stabilizing straps that keep it snug on front or back. I've had numerous (unknown to me) cat people ask where to get one. Even the vets ask about it!I've also bought a sturdy but cute harness & leash set, as well as a tracker harness which I had to return because it was too small for the cat who needed it. I had no problems whatsoever with TravelCat's customer service, and I didn't grumble about paying return postage because hey, this ain't Amazon, okay? This is a small woman-owned company started by cat lovers FOR cat lovers. I will continue to be a loyal customer!
They took good care of me and made sure that I had easy to clean, silicon dishes & an awesome cat-pack for my fuzzy little murder beasts.Maine Coons, Rag Dolls, and other larger breeds may need some additional space,but any 15lb or under is going to have a view of the world with their human cat parent!
I've been buying their stuff for a couple of years now and all but the navigator backpack have lasted! They have quality stuff, but I just wish they'd expand their colors a bit more. Here's some quick pros and cons with some things I have experienced with them.Pros:* The retractable leash is amazing for two cats and keeping them within a good distance. While it took my cats a bit to get used to the retracting sound, they are sturdy clips that are more convenient than plain leashes.* Their breakaway collars are quite nice, but I wish that they had more color options for their reflective collars. While most of their harnesses have reflectors on them, if you want to have a matching reflector colors you'll be out of luck. I'm lucky that black and blue match my harnesses well enough. They are built well though and have lasted for years.Cons:* Most of their colorful harnesses are unfortunately not very escape-proof. My cat has figured out that if she backs up out of a vest harness while it is attached to a leash, she can pop her entire body out. However their H-harnesses like the Pathfinder are very escape-proof as even if my cat freaks out she cannot escape out of it. Wrapping around the neck and stomach is much more secure than the arm holes that they can easily escape out of. I'm glad that they offer that style of harness, but I wish more color options were available for it. * I loved the idea of a backpack for two cats since it made it easy for them both to travel somewhere. I double checked that their total weight would be under what the backpack can handle, but over time I noticed some problems with them tangling each other up and the backpack's metal frame snapping. It was a little over a year when this happened and they don't really have long-term warranties for their stuff. I just swapped to using a stroller since they didn't offer one at the time and the cats seemed to both enjoy that better than a backpack. While a stroller isn't as convenient, I still recommend the backpack for at least one cat, but not two.
I’ve purchased 2 different harnesses. One with the velcro was very uncomfortable for Pitter but the Day Tripper is purrrfect. It’s so low profile that Pitter doesn’t really even notice that he’s wearing it. It’s completely secure and I have traveled all over with him wearing it. Recommend highly.
I have tried harnesses from other companies but found Travel Cat to be the most responsive and helpful.
I bought a Travel Cat backpack(the Traveler) and two harness/leash sets. First, the quality of the products is exceptional- materials, design, and workmanship. Second, Travel Cat provides excellent support for harness and backpack training your cat- videos and webinars. They give you a complete package-excellent product plus support.

the company is all marketing no substance. my litter box came with SO much loose threading it's actual insanity, and the argyle backpack came with jagged plastic edges. what the f, genuinely. taking advantage of pet owners seems to be the new craze by companies. shame on you. fast shipping but who cares when the product is a s s
The backpack feels well made and sturdy, and my cat seems comfortable and curious when inside. It looks great in person and was exactly what I was hoping for. I’d definitely recommend it to other cat owners
Travel Cat has both high quality products and excellent customer service. I have a number of products from Travel Cat: harnesses, collars, and backpacks and the quality of each product is superb. Every item is designed with durability in mind — and that is rare today. The health and safety of my cats is my highest concern and I feel safe using products from Travel Cat!
Excellent products for cats. We’ve owned multiple harnesses and backpacks from Travel Cat over the last year and I can’t say enough good things about the quality and thoughtful design of their products!
I’ve had several backpacks but none were comfortable for my cats and didn’t have the storage space I needed for my hikes. Then I purchased the Navigator backpack on the website and am very happy. I fact I now have 2 in different colors. Lots of room for a cat with all the safety features needed to not confine them. I can pack my water bottles, snacks etc and feel organized. It’s high quality and comfortable to wear and my cats like it so much they want to stay in it, The ordering process was easy and it arrived with no issues.
I've taken my cat Picchu on multiple International and domestic flights using the travel cat travel carrier. I also use the Navigator backpack by Travel cat for city walks and hikes. Over 10 flights and his travel bag is still like new. High quality, durable and well made. Proper ventilation for airflow during long flights. Enough pockets for treats, toys and travel documents. The Navigator we use this almost daily. Super strong for a big cat, very comfortable for long hikes and lots of walking during our travels.I highly recommend any of their bags!
TravelCat has always been my go to for adventure gear! They have a great selection of harnesses and backpacks. Recently, i accidentally bought two harnesses and only needed one. I emailed them and they responded that day and fixed my issue. They are very timely and have great customer service!

I’m lovingly known as the backpack dealer amongst my friends, because there truly is no better backpack on the market. Every product is created by cat owners and tested by real cats, including founders Emily and Ian’s cats to ensure kitty’s will love each product. Travel Cat truly cares about cat enrichment, safety, and quality items. They also donate products which are slightly flawed and cannot be sold to rescue groups!
Harness size was not true to fit (i measured my cat twice. Both snug and loose and he shouldve been XS but it didnt actually fit) and they have greedy return policy with a $10 shipping fee. Unbelievable.
Truly disappointing. What was advertised wasn't in stock. I was patient and waited. I am the one who had to reach out several times. Nobody made effort to remedy the situation even when I offered to take a partial order. Please treat your customers better.
I am trying to return this product and 2 lots of packaging, umpteen emails, 4 trips to DHL drop offs and 2 sets of return labels I am unable to progress this return. I bought the harness and Tractive bundle. Tractive requires you to subscribe to a contract that was not clear to me. I spent a lot of money for a parcelSitting in my house waiting for a way to return it internationally…. It comes from the US but in the end it’s coming from China from what I can see. I am not sure if I will ever get my money back. Returns are at customer’s cost.
