Same situation with me

Same situation with me. I opened an account and within a week I have been locked out. I’ve tried reaching out and got a notice saying they are closing my account. I can’t logon to delete my account information and I kept getting notices saying my transfer of money has been denied. I called their number and a lady named Claire answered and asked for my info said my account was closed and hung up. I tried to called back and my number kept getting forwarded to voicemail. I called from another number and the same lady answered. She told me she didn’t have to explain anything since my account was being closed and Ishould get my money back and hung up again. Your money is not safe here!!

$1,000 Stolen, Zero Fraud Protection

My Wealthfront debit card was frauded and over $1,000 was stolen through unauthorized Uber ride charges. Multiple transactions went through with zero effective fraud protection or alerts draining my funds. Unacceptable. Taken a while to receive my funds back which should've never happened. STAY AWAY!

The website stopped working on Google…

The website stopped working on Google Chrome (I always use the lastest version of the browser), and the people who are supposedly customer service agents treated me like it was just fine that they were holding about $200,000 of my money and didn't plan to fix the problem with the browser I prefer to use.So, I reported the incident to the SEC, FINRA, and the FTC; and the customer service agents' solution was to tell me I had to move all my money out of Wealthfront. The company is trying to float an IPO, but it really seems to be run very, very, very badly now. When I first started with Wealthfront, they worked hard to get and hold onto my business, but ever since UBS backed out of acquiring the company, everything about the company has gone to pretty horrible.I don't think the SEC should allow the people who now run Wealthfront to go public, because I don't think they understand how to run a brokerage house.

Stay away from them

Stay away from them. This year I had $7K in losses because of them. They lured me into a wealthfront parity fund that helps better with tax loss harvesting and such. This fund kept losing money year after year. Even when market was returning 10-15% returns in 2023 and 2024, this fund was negative. They realized it and closed the fund off. Leaving investors with a realized loss that we can do nothing about. Very poor performance. I wish I just left the money in S&P 500 vs giving money to them.

THEY NEVER RETURNED THE MONEY STOLEN

One day when I was on my way to work, I just checked my account saw from my cash account 1000$ being taken (in couple of hours in 5-6 transactions) from the otherside of the town. I was on the way to NJ and money seemed like being withdrawn from a Duane Reade uptown in Manhattan and upstate NY. I called them and cancelled my card and I expected a refund of this amount since the money stolen was not the result of a lost debit card, it was because of their flaw in their security system. to cut the story short after hours and hours of phone calls, emails, mails, back and forth for months they didn't take the responsibility of their wrongdoing.so to get that high yield cash account: after years of using it life time gain : around 350$. Money lost 1000$. Plus whenever you use their debit card to withdraw money( they don't have atms) the atms that their map shows me were random empty lots which I had to use another bank's atm with crazy amount of fee.So you can make the calculcations. Couple of hundred of dollars gained but thousands are lost. DON'T USE THIS BANK!

Your money is not safe.

Within one week of opening my account and depositing money I have been locked out of my account with no explanation. Reset password does not work, and customer support does not reply. I have filed reports with the FDIC, CFPB, OCC, and BBB against Wealthfront and its underlying Green Dot bank. Your money is not safe. AVOID!

Poor customer service and lack of disclosure

I encountered facets and limitations to their products which were not disclosed prior to account opening. Wealthfront uses customers to test their products rather than thinking things through.Customer service is slow to respond and not very helpful. While their Automated Investing account seems to be a good product, reporting and transparency could be improved.

Awful customer support

Awful customer support. They will lock your account without notice and cannot help you over the phone. You just sit and wait not knowing when you'll have access to your account again. This is likely due to their relationship with Green Dot, which is awful

Couldn't be happier with Wealthfront

Couldn't be happier with Wealthfront. All of the features they advertise with the Individual Cash account work as advertised which is a breath of fresh air in the FinTech sector.

My Experience with Wealthfront

I've been using Wealthfront for a while now, and I thought I'd share my honest thoughts. It's not perfect, but it's been working pretty well for me overall. What I like:- The Cash Account 5% interest rate is no joke- Mobile app is easy to use- Free roboinvesting for smaller balances- Can track other accounts in one placeWhat could be better:- Linking to other banks can be a pain- Had some hiccups with Venmo transfers- No physical checks (if that matters to you)I've been using this as my main account for a while now. I don't write checks, so that's not an issue for me, but keep that in mind if you do. The big draw is obviously that 5% interest rate. It's pretty sweet to earn that on money that's just sitting there between paychecks and bill payments. The app is pretty slick - clean and fast. You can add other accounts to track your overall finances, which is handy. I only use it for a few accounts though, just to be on the safe side. Now, it hasn't all been smooth sailing. Linking this account to other banks can be a bit of a headache at first. It took a few tries to get Venmo transfers working without holds. When I needed help, customer service was okay - not amazing, but they got the job done.I'm also trying out their roboinvesting account. If your balance is below their fee threshold, it's free, so it's a good way to dip your toes in without any cost. They have a referral program too, but honestly, I haven't used it much. All in all, it's been a good experience for me, but it might not be for everyone. If you're comfortable with online banking and want to earn some decent interest, it could be worth checking out. Just be prepared for a little extra work getting things set up.

Happy with them

I've been very happy with their services. The interest rates for a checking account are great. I've used them for investments which is decent too especially if you don't want to manage it yourself. I've had a couple of instances where I've needed to reach out to customer service and have always had a good experience doing so.

Account access

I encountered a funding problem and attempted to log in to address it, but I discovered that my account access was restricted. Despite reaching out to the support team via email on their website, I have not received any response since June 13th. This is unacceptable. Communication has been lacking for five days now, and the service has fallen short of expectations.

Absolutely one of the worst…

Absolutely one of the worst experiences. I initially signed on because I heard it was a good program with ability to tax harvest and when I set up account I accidently inputted wrong account to fund it and when I realized I did when I tried to log in to enter my newer account to fund the account my access was locked. I called and emailed many times over the next few months with no response then randomly I decided let me try one last time and then I was finally able to speak with someone and was told I was barred from having an account and there was no other information. I asked would they be sending a letter to explain or was there a manager or supervisor who would be able to explain and they said no and hung up. That was it.

Former Wealthfront Client

I was a client of Wealthfront for over five years. The service provided by Wealthfront was excellent, and I made money investing with Wealthfront. Nevertheless, I transferred my account to another brokerage account when I learned that Wealthfront partnered with Green Dot Bank (a one-star rating on Trustpilot). Seriously, Green Dot Bank? I knew it was time to transfer my account because they weren't a robo-advisor who placed their customer's interests above their own. That said, I recently read that UBS, a bank with assets under management of $3.3 trillion, will acquire Wealthfront. When this event occurs, then I would consider investing with Wealthfront.

Decent, New partnership is not good...

Decent for complete hands off investing, but don't expect much of a return. New partnership with Green Dot Bank is not good. The bank also goes by multiple names, like University National Bank (?). I agree with the review below that the Portfolios are not aggressive (even with the max tolerance) and fees definitely feel excessive for a hands off approach. Heading somewhere that has my best interest in mind.
