I'm disappointed that you don't take into account that the three visits that I submitted were all related to her liver disease finding it out and taking care of it instead you considered them individually so you didn't cover the entire amount.
Process was very easy. I had to reach out to support for something and they were able to quickly walk me through it. Had payment sent to me within two business days.
Trupanion has always been very prompt, courteous and helpful when I’ve talked to them. They settle claims very quickly too. Very satisfied with this pet insurance company.

Don't believe what you read. They deny claims for false reasons. They are rude. They get afraid when you tell them you will record the call. They are looking for any reason to deny part or all of your claim. When you google them you will see the numerous lawsuits they have and complaints. Do yourself a favor and put the money aside and not to these people.

Luna, who is a four year old mini golden doodle , went to our vet recently. I was told that Luna has serious tartar and will need a professional cleaning .. I.e: given an anesthetic and having the procedure done. She also has a small cyst which the vet plans to remove at the same time. Will these procedures be covered by my insurance? Kathy Rebholz

Trupanion had been truly that to us. We have had two dogs, one with multiple surgeries this year. Yes, it has not been a good year. But, Trupanion saved us in so many ways. Every pet should have insurance. But, not everyone can afford it. We would not have been able to afford the surgeries and treatment if not for our Trupanion insurance. So, we bite the bullet and choose to insure. So glad we did. I cannot thank the staff enough for making everything easy for us and for putting up with our questions. I would recommend Trupanion to every new pet owner. You never know when you might need it. And, although we have been paying for insurance for several year, it has paid for itself! Thank you Trupanion!!!
My 4 year old dachshund was diagnosed with cancer a few months ago. The treatment was at a cost of approx $20,000. Fortunately when I purchased him I also on the advise of my vet got Trupanion insurance. They pay for 90% of his treatment and without this help I would have had to put my little Henry down. He just went for his 3rd Chemo treatment today and his tumors have greatly reduced. Also Trupanion pays for each visit before I leave the vet. They are truely a life saver. I would highly tell everyone with a pet to get this insurance.

I am happy I was able to receive help with Emma's medical bills. I am also happy Trupanion interacts with, and pays directly do, the veterinarians. With that said, I was not happy that, in such an emotional emergency situation, I was forced to appeal your quick initial denial of coverage. I was further disappointed that, within a week of the claim for treatment expenses, I was notified of a substantial increase in monthly premiums.
I had no idea that my Vet could actually file a claim for me and the claim could be paid to them. When my dog recently had about a pancreatitis, that was a huge help. Fingers crossed that she continues to improve.
At a critical time, you stepped up to the plate and I didn’t have to worry about trying to figure out how and when I could pay this bill. It’s worth the money having you make Zoey’s hospital stay manageable. 👍👍👍

I can’t say enough good things about Trupanion. Coverage for our two pups has been EXTRAORDINARY! The policy we purchased assisted us with throughout their lives and right up until when we, sadly, had to say goodbye. This included one very expensive back surgery in which the policy contribution to the costs helped immensely. I have often, and will continue to, wholeheartedly recommend Trupanion whenever able. When I get an email from Trupanion I know before opening— it is going to be about another rate increase. Other than that it is to say that we found that your cat had some minor unrelated infection or issue years ago and we therefore are denying the claim because it is in the same region of her body. That is the True Trupanion. In all fairness they are quick to settle claims but offer practically no convenience such as paying the “premium” ahead of time. I have no idea what the benefit of this venture with VCA could be. It seems like a race to mediocrity. Simply put, when this cat goes Trupanion will get no more.
We decided to cancel our insurance. We had an allergy issue with our dog and they refused to accept it, they decided it was a problem that was there before we got the insurance. Our veterinary wrote a letter telling them that it was a completely new problem, that allergies can appear at anytime and that our dog never had any of it before. They accepted at first, but when we had to go back for our dog’s medic for allergies, they refused again. After talking to 5 different people, one guy finally confirmed that they threw the letter away and never let any note about that ! They said that they could not accept even with the files out veterinary filled an other time telling them it was a new condition. They are not able to fulfil their obligations and I thing about going after them for moral and economic damages because we lost a lot of time with this and now no insurance will accept us for this condition because it won’t be new for them. Really a bad experience ! I do not suggest at all !
