STAY AWAY

Over charged for car, interest rate is VERY high, had issues with motor mounts since day one their mechanic said he heard nothing lies, , car does not need fob to start it, does not lock doors, after almost 2 years of paying can't trade in car because I owe 4 times what the car is worth. I was told at the lot if I paid a year on time I could get into another car one I wanted that was a lie. STAY AWAY! I have a friend with the same experience. 0/5

They did absolutely nothing to really…

They did absolutely nothing to really help me. I paid almost everything of the enrolled debt. I had my salary garnished which resulted in payment of 60% of enrolled debt which the rest was paid by monies that he drafted from my account but of course they have ignored the garnishment so they could show that they have done a great job, what a joke. Spoke with them on Dec 12th 2024 and they stated that they would be refunding the excess funds in my account which is still have not seen. Today after my complaints they said they would put escalate the matter but that they only have two people working in that department and that they have many other clients in from of me. I would not recommend this company to anyone and I believe that they should be investigated and if at all possible be put out of business

Terrible company

Terrible company. Will wreck your credit permanently. Justin who onboarded me, assured me that in 6 months my credit card balances (for medical expenses) would be negotiated for half the current balance. I didn’t believe him at first, but he spent the next hour explaining the process (lying) and assuring me that Timberline takes care of their clients. Once you’re legally into their scam, what Timberline actually does is they “take over” your payments, tell you not pay, to not respond to collection calls and notices. They let your account become charged off which is similar to declaring bankruptcy, possibly worse. Even after paying the negotiated balance, the credit card company still views the original balance as owed, and until it is paid, your credit is wrecked. Avoid this fraudulent company.

This company is the worst I have ever…

This company is the worst I have ever dealt with in my life! I have used other companies and even filed bankruptcy before. But I asked for help and this company has failed me horribly!! I signed up with a plan and have kept my side of it but they have not. I am paying way over what I should have to begin with. I was sued last year and again being threatened to be sued again. They take my money every month and I get no where but in deeper trouble. Please do not use this company!!! They lie and steal your money!!!

Total Scam

Total Scam. They claim to take charge, negotiate your accounts down and save you money. They contact the crediters and negotiate the amount owed down which I could have done myself but by the time they add in their fees you save little or nothing. Now the final insult. I enrolled 6 accounts. After I realised that these accounts become inactive and your credit destroyed I removed one account from the program so that I would still have an active credit account. Bare in mind that all of these accounts were up to date. I came to the program because I was about to go under. After negotiation one of the accounts was sent to litigation prior to being fully enrolled. Now four of the accounts have been paid off. The 5th has also been paid off but now I am told that I have to pay all of the litigation fees which is a very large amount so I will end paying more than I started with. As I said up front the program is a crock, preying on people that are over extended and in the end you have to rebuild your credit and move on.

Best decision ever.

Best decision I made. This company helped me with my debt. Now I can say I'm debt free. Excellent customer service, excellent resolutions. I had a lot of credit cards debts and they helped me to reduce for less than I was supposed to pay. Thank you Timberline for making me free of debt.

WORST COMPANY EVER

We started working with this company in 2018. We were told the same information as many of the other customers. We had good credit, we were just looking to consolidate instead of paying multiple payments to different entities each month. We then spent 2 years fighting for information, waiting as our credit tanked and hearing nothing. In 2020 we stopped hearing from Timberline, despite reaching out. As of this morning we were contacted by a different company who stated that our account was sold to them and we could settle our account for $20,000.00. Original debt was $15,000 with payments of $750 per month for two years. This is insane. How can you so terribly misrepresent yourselves, DESTROY peoples credit scores, refuse to communicate and then SELL CUSTOMER ACCOUNTS TO A CREDITOR? I have reported this company to the BBB and am seeking legal counsel. Do NOT work with this business, they may not be committing fraud or be illegal, but they are definitely not ethical.

They claimed to be able me save me…

They claimed to be able me save me money, but in the end it costed me more than the debt that i had. When i attempted to remove a debt they gave me trouble stating they had to settle it in house. What a bunch of crooks. How can this be legal?

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, They claim to be able to settle your debts for less than you owe. Three years later they have taken more from me than I would have paid to settle the debts. I filed a formal complaint with the BBB and plan on talking to legal counsel.

The worst thing you could possibly do…

The worst thing you could possibly do in your lifetime is to contract with this company. Their agreement makes untrue statements like if you provide them with 3 accounts, they are usually settled in 5-7 month. But yet I provided 9 accounts for them to help me with, after months of no action I removed 5 of the accounts and settled them immediately. That means they had 4 accounts to settle since 2019. Of the 4 they settled 3 after me calling them every day begging for a settlement. The last account they settled was in February 2023. The had one account left to handle but they will not call the company because they want to continue taking almost $500 a month from my account since 2019 (for debt that was less than $10,000). And I even made a $2000 extra deposit (that did not help me). I am fed up and will be reporting this to the attorney general to investigate. I could go on about their shoddy practices, but I do not have enough space to share them all.

Very Bad Decision

Review re-submitted after verification.First, Timberline was not forthcoming with their fees, which should have been a red flag, to begin with. The first thing they tell you is to stop paying any creditors. They do not actively pursue a settlement on any claims until the accounts go into litigation and the sheriff shows up at your door with a summons. This happens for each of the accounts Timberline handles for you. As the plan nears completion they drag their feet to settle claims ensuring that they will get their fees (25% of your original debts). They will auto-extend your plan so that they can collect their fees. Communication is also very poor. I had to call them to find out when my plan would end, signing a digital agreement stating that the plan would only extend another 4.5 months, yet at the end of that period they auto-extended the plan, even though they told me they could not extend it without prior agreement from me. It got to the point that I could not trust anything I was told by Timberline Financial. If you have already signed with them, I advise you to get out now and find another way to settle your debts. If you are considering signing, don't. Learn from the mistakes of others.

If you are drowning in debt DON'T use…

If you are drowning in debt DON'T use this company. They make a lot of promises to help but really they just ruin your credit and don't actually save you any money once they take their fees. They say to quit paying your bills, go into default then let them negotiate a lower payment. Well the first bill went fast, for less than half the mount owed. The rest sat for years, racking up more fee's and tanking my credit. When the last creditor finally made an offer I contacted them personally to see if they would accept the offer/payment directly from me. They did, thankfully because the original amount had doubled in fees so the "savings" Timberline promised were only half of this new huge amount and the kicker is the fee they wanted to change me was another $7000 in payment for their services. If I had stayed with them this debt would have been resolved for twice the original amount! They are only in this to make money. They also don't tell you that the "forgiven" debt comes with a hefty tax bill. This was a huge costly mistake on my part and the repercussions will last years while I fix my credit. My advice is call your creditors yourself. They are surprisingly willing to make arrangements with you that won't hurt your credit long term. Don't be a sucker and line this places pockets...BTW they also charge you fee's EVERY MONTH that you could have used to pay down debt. This place is shameful, and when you do call with questions you just get the run around.

This place is an absolute scam

This place is an absolute scam. I still have to make payments to them until mid 2025. I started 2 years ago. I pay more per month now than I did before I got into the program. I was sued twice and their lawyers handled it and then charged me to handle it. Absolute freaking scam take my word for it stay the heck away from this place.

Please do not use this company

Please do not use this company. I am telling you this from my own personal experience dealing with this company. My program supposed to end by October 2022 and Timberline is continues to take money via direct deposit, with the reason saying that you have one more account to settle. Per the staff/costumer service person, i have more than double the amount in my Timberline account to settle my outstanding balance. My humble request to you all please donot associate with this firm and you might end up loosing your money and peace. If there is an option i can give less than one star i would give them that. I am glad if this review will useful to at leastone person. Thanks

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE!!!!!

I asked for a quote to finish off my debt contract and I was sent one. I sent a lump sum payment and they told me that was all I needed to send. I also told them that I wanted these last 2 debts to be paid off in a lump sum to get my credit score to start repairing! Well, don't believe them!! I was told today 7/14/2022 that not only that they will not do a lump sum payment but I also have to send them an extra $428 for the next 12 months!!! You better believe that I will tell everyone that I come into contact with that they should never do a debt consolidation! I could have paid these off myself at about 1/2 of the money they are taking away from me! I will NEVER recommend this company to anyone!! Too Bad you can't Give a ZERO on a review!!
