The crank shaft in the lower bracket snapped

The crank shaft in the lower bracket snapped off on the right hand side of my Schwinn IC8 bike that is only four years old. Not sure what type of metal they are using for this, but I've been cycling years and never seen this type of failure. I'm guessing it's just poor quality. It just shouldn't really happen considering the bike is indoors out of the elements and supposed to be of high quality and was very expensive. I've been trying to source a replacement part here in Ireland, but only one's I can find are back order with no time frame of delivery from a company in the US that gets less than favourable reviews. Schwinn themselves seem to only ship to US and Canada. So it looks like I'm stuck and need to source another bike. It won't be a Schwinn this time or every again. Very disappointed to be honest, expected much better.

3 eScooters stop working within months

I purchased an eScooter from Schwinn in Summer 2023 and it was received with the battery not working. Schwinn support sent in 2 replacement scooters which worked fine for about 9 months until one had the battery stop charging and the other one started malfunctioning. The battery warranty is limited to 6 months.Schwann does not have any network of repair shops, does not perform repairs (not even for a fee), and recommends to bring eScooters to your local bike shop, which I did.One bike shop turned me down and another could not fix the issue. It is worth noting for Schwinn that most bike shops (even those carrying electric bikes) I spoke to don't fix scooters. This is where a network of partner repair shops would be helpful. The bottom line is that out of 3 eScooters received from Schwinn, my experience is a 100% failure rate within less than a year. It speaks volume to the quality of the products the company ships. Additionally, the total lack of a network of repair shops goes to show the company is not currently interested in mitigating quality problems in any ways.I have used the resources Schwinn recommends to try to have my eScooters fixed and despite the fact it cannot, the company won't replace the battery.I am left with no choice but to look to another eScooter manufacturer that can deliver on better reliability.

Purchased a Schwinn Air dyne Pro bike…

Purchased a Schwinn Air dyne Pro bike from an authorized physical store. Brought it home, assembled as per the instructions and found that there was a "rubbing sound" coming from inside the covered pedal area. Called the customer service number, and found them helpful in diagnosing the issue. They said they would expedite shipping on the required part and set up home repair service. Move ahead two and a half weeks and the part has finally arrived. Service is set up for a week from now. After my initial interaction with customer service, everything has gone downhill. I have messaged for help with my "expedited" shipment and got nothing back except they are looking into it. This is after several emails.I finally had enough and formally asked to for an authorized return so I can get a refund and be done with them. Twice I have asked, and they have decided that they are done with me as well and are not responding to my emails any longer. i would take it back to the store, but they are 200 miles away. We live in a remote area and were visiting friends when we purchased this and brought it home.Bottom line...DO NOT DEAL WITH SCHWINN. They have sold me a defective product, and do not honor their "if for any reason within 60 days" return policy. If the repair part works when installed next week, I will sell it to be done, if the fix doesn't work, it will go to the dump. I have never been so frustrated.WHERE DOES A CUSTOMER TURN WHEN THE COMPANY REFUSES TO RESPOND???

I was over the moon getting the Schwinn…

I was over the moon getting the Schwinn 290 Recumbent Bike, the reviews I had found were very positive. After setting up the bike and downloading the Jrny app, I was unable to bluetooth it to the console so I called Schwinn. The guy was very friendly, but informed me, the company they used to make the console, experienced a communication problem and it wasn't made to work with the console even though it shows it working in pictures and even online. What good does the console even do if it can not be used the way they represent? I am extremely disappointed. So I am returning the Bike and giving as many people a heads up that I can reach.

I had the AD6 Schwinn Airdyne…

Update: Schwinn resolved our concern and replaced the bike under warranty. Thank you Schwinn for reassessing the issue. I had the AD6 Schwinn Airdyne stationary bike for over 2 years. I had to replace the belt 2 times and now the bolt sheared off in the crankshaft. Schwinn sent a technician out; technician said it was unrepairable after talking and providing pictures to corporate. Schwinn would send a new bike. However, 2 days later, Schwinn said no new bike and wanted to charge me $172 to mail parts and a technician to fix it. No way... Am buying a different brand and trashing this one.

Many years ago I purchased a Schwyn 270…

Many years ago I purchased a Schwyn 270 recumbent exercise bike. It worked great for five years. I stopped riding for a while. When I stared back up the bike could not increase the tension on the fly wheel. I called the customer support and actually reached a live person. She was able to figure out the problem quickly. The motor that moves the magnet in and out to adjust tension was bad. She sent me the part along with detailed instructions on how to remove and install it along with a tool for removing the cranks and a video as well. I was able to make the repair myself within an hour and the bike is working like new. She also sent a follow up email to see how I did. That’s what I call Customer Support.

Switch and bait scam

I purchased it in April when they still offered a free year of JRNY. That was the only reason I purchased this model over the diamondback 910 sr as I'm disabled and that was a deal I could use.Of course by the time it shipped and my husband put the bike together I'm only given 2 months free. Such a scam. Buy the other model I suggested. It is a better made product and has a heavier flywheel.

Awful bicycles

I bought a schwinn bicycle the first time last year for Christmas. Never again! Within the first month of having it the gears began slipping, the tires came loose and the chain fell off..I couldn't believe it. I figured because schwinn has been around for so long and are in the top 5 of any list they must be good. DONT believe it. I am now looking for a new bicycle, again. Don't buy schwinn!

DOES not support their own products.

Bought a 45 dollar Schwinn bike seat, after 1 hour of rising my son laid it over. The plastic piece that holds the seat to the bike shattered. I thought, no worries, I’ll order another… it’s crap plastic probably happens a lot. Write them 1-2-23. Got a response today 1-17-23 saying… and I quote “ We do not parts for the aftermarket items. You can try to reach out to a local bike shop, or bikebling.com for further assistance. Thanks, SelenaSr. Consumer Care Representative”Aside from the bad English, are you saying you don’t support your products because people buy them after the bike? This is a Schwinn cruiser seat… it’s your product. You choose to use sub par products and don’t support consumers, and even worse, tell us to look somewhere else. This is pathetic, and I will never buy Schwinn bikes or parts again. And I hope people read this and do the same… you will regret it.

DO NOT BUY SCHWINN!!

Do not, repeat, DO NOT buy a Schwinn bicycle! I recently purchased one of their bikes for roughly $1000 and at first I was somewhat happy with it until just over a month after owning it the handlebars started to fall forward whenever I rode the bike! One of the main reasons I purchased this bike was because it had upright handlebars and I have back issues. I was going to maybe get a cheaper bike, but my wife convinced me to pay the extra money and get a brand we can trust. Well now it has become such an issue that literally every single time I ride the bike the handlebars need to be tightened, and they fall loose again as soon as I start riding and I begin to slump forwards. This is actually rather dangerous as when you’re riding a bike for the handlebars to all of a sudden slumped forwards could possibly result in serious injury! I reached out to Schwinn customer support, asking for them to give me a different bike or a refund and they offered me a replacement screw instead. Perhaps the screw would fix the issue in the short term but this is clearly a design flaw. This is about what I would expect from a $100 Walmart bike and not a $1000 Schwinn bike! Save yourself the trouble and trust me don’t bother buying the Schwinn brand! You will definitely regret it!

Horrible Service/a little better

I wrote to Schwinn 6-8-22 saying I still have not received my check. Ashley P wrote back 6-13-22 saying I would be getting a check. It is 6-27-22 and I still don't have a check. Never again will I purchase anything from Pacific Cycle/Schwinn!! Update: 6-27-22 received check!

Switched to Schwin - many regrets.

Switched from Pinnacle to Schwin for kids bikes from Evans. Extremely heavy, heavier than adult mid range ATB. Makes it useless as 8 year old rider exhausted after minimal riding. Very poor quality components - failed in 6 months. Free-wheel bearings failed after 4 months. Quill stem in 2022? Many parts not designed for mountain biking (mud) wet - and despite post ride washing and drying are rusting fast. Zero rust on other bikes' components.

Ordered a bike, never delivered or received

Ordered a bike online direct from Schwinn website and it was never delivered to the correct address. The tracking info showed they kept trying to deliver to the wrong state - Arizona when I live in New Mexico. Contacted Schwinn and they started an investigation with their delivery and concluded it was delivered so I would not receive a refund or resend the bike purchased. Absolutely horrendous customer service- I paid for a bicycle and never received it and they aren’t doing anything about it. They did reply to my emails but in the end it was a waste of my time and money. Will be filing a dispute with my credit company. 100% do NOT recommend ordering from them.

Defective Bike Warranty Department useless.

Bought a Schwinn bike for my kid for Christmas, and the bike was defective on assembly. Contacted warranty department which sent a replacement part which still did not fix the issue. So contacted the warranty department again with asking for assembled bike and return of the current one. The warranty department was useless on the second reach out. Was informed to returned the bike to Amazon and let Amazon ship it back to us. Contacted Amazon and Amazon was puzzled as to why Schwinn cannot just have the bike shipped directly to them. At the end of the day Amazon Customer Service came to the rescue and setup everything plus a box for me to ship the defective bike back to Amazon.

Horrible Bike. FAULTY

I bought my bike on 3/26/21 from Dick's Sporting Goods. For 2 weeks everything was great. Then out of nowhere a knocking sound appeared. I called up customer support and they sent out new parts. Said parts did not work after the tech fixed it. They sent out new parts again. Delayed for weeks. I called to rush the parts. They send out a different part to fix the bike. WRONG PART. They set up an order for another bike part. 6 weeks I will have to wait. Do not order from Schwinn. They are a fraud. I will be calling everyday to get a refund on this piece of garbage. They failed every aspect of a great business.

I have the Schwinn IC4 Spin bike

I have the Schwinn IC4 Spin bike. I am trying to leave my review on their website, but of course, they make it as difficult as possible to do so, probably because they know the reviews will all be so bad. DO NOT BUY THIS BIKE. I did a lot of research prior to buying this bike, and I noticed that a lot of people complained about issues with either noise with the pedals or one pedal falling off. Well, BOTH have happened to me. Pretty much instantly, I started to notice these issues with the bike. It sounds like I am running over a duck each time the pedal rotates, and the left one just flat out fell off during a ride. I bought this bike as a cheaper option to the Peloton, and I can't even use it now. I called the company, and they said the replacement parts would take 2 weeks. Well, 5 weeks later they are here. I was told that the shipment of the parts would trigger a tech to call me. Well, the parts have been here for days now and nothing. I called 3 days ago, and I was told I would hear from someone soon. Nothing. Now it has been at least 6 weeks. I have not been able to use the bike all this time. Research the pedal issue. I am far from the only one who reported this issue.
