A discussion about the validity of the ticket, finished with extra payment without any reason, moreover the trains were on delay.

The most abusive controllers

The most abusive controllers, I got 4 fines within one week altrough I had a valid ticket, just because I bought it later!! Now perhaps I’ll have a fine for 500€ for nothing. Completely unfair and I hate you, I will walk instead of taking your train ever again

Unsatisfactory

Used SBB trains to go from Zurich airport to Zermatt and back. The cost was comparable to taking a private transfer. The journey back was chaos, as they seemed unprepared to deal with the traffic coming back from skiing, meaning we stood for several hours. Doubtless staff were having a trying day but some were remarkably offensive. Would avoid in future.

Inspectors

Very expensive tickets with very limited areas-stops you can go per zone and short validation time. Controllers are like police I saw they put handicaps to a young boy just for not having a ticket, he got so scared that he started run( waliselen stop) Also I saw they are checking people’s phone for identity data. Nevertheless the person already saw them a copy of his identity.

Railcards and passes for trains far too complicated

We are holidaying in Switzerland for eight days next week. We are travellling by train, and are TOTALLY bewildered by the enormous choice of fares/travelcards/passes. So much so that we no longer even want to travel! It seems the Swiss have made it so utterly impossible to work out which pass will be the most economical, it's got us going round in circles. Not a good start to a holiday we WERE looking forward to.

We experienced racist treatment from the train staff as Asian passengers. We were not treated well, and the staff spoke to us very harshly.

RACIST AND BREAKING INTO PHONE SBB OFFICERS

BEWARE: RACIST, INTIMIDATION AND BREAKING INTO PHONE SBB OFFICERS ON S9 ZÜRICH HB TO RÜMLANG.SBB Officers broke into my phone and physically pressed the delete button of the video evidence of their harassment, intimidation, and racism to me.The transit officers working on the Zurich HB to Rumlang on the S9 train. The three officers were berating, intimidating, and even went into my companion's Phone to Delete Photos. They repeatedly shouted at them, yelling in a hostile and intimidating manner, saying they would increase our fine if they did not delete the video of them yelling. In addition, the male officer physically pressed the delete button on their phone when they were conversing with another officer. This was a complete violation of privacy. While this was happening, the officers continued to berate me with Racist Remarks. I have an accent, and she said "We can talk normal," insinuating that I could not talk about the ticket in clear English. I was trying to communicate but she refused to allow me to and berated me. Then, she yelled "Dont Lie to me" trying to intimidate me.Most concerning, I was threatened with higher charges unless the video recording of their behavior was deleted, which is coercive and an abuse of authority. This was a complete power trip, invading my privacy, making racist remarks, and intimidation. No one should have to face this.

SBB is the most reliable transport…

SBB is the most reliable transport service in the worldI have never been let down by SBB, they cover all transport systems in Switzerland. Wherever you need to get to they take you there.Punctuality and reliability is one of their biggest strengths. They are able to quickly adapt to unpredictable situations and are always ready to provide alternative methods to get to where you need to go.Keep it up SBB!!

Extortionate ticket collectors.

Had to pay an extra 79 Francs to the ticket collector for catching an earlier train, even though our ticketed train was running so late that we would have missed our connection to Metz via Strasbourg. Tried to explain it to him, he just said "doesn't matter". The prices for the trains are sky high, and the tickets collectors not at all flexible even when you have the best possible reason to catch an earlier train. Especially annoying when the train was 80% empty anyways. I really do not suggest anyone go to Switzerland.

No news , no help, nobody

The train had a problem. Ok that’s fair. It was unpredictable. I’m told by the app that I’ll have a train 30 min later. That’s ok I wait. I get no warning , no notification. And I go the the main screen and see all the trains cancelled in the direction I’m going. I try to look for someone that can help me and that I see daily on the platform close to the train. Nobody . Absolutely nobody. I’m not even sure if I can go by bus because my pass don’t have all the zones. And I can’t ask nobody for at least to say “hey just call somebody or find another way because we can’t provide a way for you to go home”. I don’t expect you to solve something that’s just happened but a little help from any security. And even when me and other person asked the train driver where the train was going he didn’t even look at us and was rude like we were the ones provoking this whole situation. Thank u for the panic attack and idk how in hell you’ll repay me having to disrupt someone’s else job to pick me up and me eating my lunch by 3pm.

Good service

Nice personal, clean trains (if people would not leave their trash on purpose). I have much respect for the bus drivers in particular, since they have to deal with so rude people sometimes.Prices are too high, especially for students and retired elderly people. Other than that I can’t complain much. There are delays sometimes which can be annoying but that is not just a problem here.

Very overpriced for the experience people get

The tickets already cost a lot, often more than an airplane tickets and now I have to pay extra to go to toilet at the stations??? Outrageous!!! Also at some stations there are just stairs which are hard to go up with big suitcases. Connections are so close together there is no time to go around and look for elevators or other options. Many bad experiences with SBB.

Absolute joke

Trains always packed to the limit, and difficult to find a seat in rush hour when needed the most, and if you travel out of rush hour the trains are not the same and less equipped (even in 1st class). Half fare card automatically renewing and they won't refund even if the payment date expired by a few days and you want to cancel, plus if you call them to complain about it they will immediately send you a 15 chf higher renewal invoice in your mailbox. Absolute joke.

Everything what people write is true

Everything what people write is true. The most horrible experience across the entire Switzerland. Despite the common stereotype about Swiss punctuality, trains are late ALL the time. There is always some kind of disruption. And they ALWAYS say it’s not their fault. Nevertheless they don’t forget to charge the full price. And no refunds even if train was late for 2.5 hours and you missed other connections/work meeting, etc. no refunds. And the best thing is this is a monopoly. There is no alternative for people to choose from.

SBB,CFF, FFS without any rule

I bought a class One ticket for the holidays and back from Milan to relax. Many passengers entered this class and everyone sat wherever they wanted. Everyone spoke very loudly and there was no ticket controller there. The toilets were very dirty and there was a very bad smell in the first class. Should the Swiss transport system look like this? This is very terrible. Klasse sehr schlecht. Sollte das Schweizer Transportsystem so aussehen? Das ist sehr schrecklich.

Absolute trash public transport system.

Absolute trash public transport system. The trains smell like urine, there's sticky stains near the restroom. They don't control people playing loud music or putting their bag on a seat. Also if you want to buy a ticket that includes return you'll be issued a ticket valid since 0:00 on that day to 24:00. Change your mind and want a refund before your scheduled train ride? You can't ask for a refund because you didn't ask for it the DAY BEFORE, before the ticket is scheduled to be in effect. They try to scam people out of money like this. Never trust them and always buy one way tickets as needed though I'm sure they price those higher to scam out of more money. Oh and let's not forget the SBB app always showing the wrong price. You think you'll get a ticket for 30chf? WRONG. You'll be greeted with a 60chf price tag or more unless you subscribe to the halbtax. Absolute deviant behavior from these scammers.

Europeans are always telling us about…

Europeans are always telling us about how great their transportation system is. Please, the Switzerland is the new country, simply the worst, they delayed my train for one hour, they offered us an unsuitable alternative route, where they wanted to stack us like sardines, I didn't make my end destination, I had to deal with a racist info person, and than no compensation (please people outside Europe stop saying compensation and whatever: customer service is the worst in Europe)I know no one will read this comment I just want to give the SBB 0 stars.
