THIS IS A TRAP YOU NEED TO KEEP AWAY FROMTerrible and unhelpful people. Avoid at all cost.This entity is earning living out of thin air by pretending they are presenting customers with some service. They are totally unnecessary if one wants to support activists or broadcasters on the web and they exist for only one reason : to skim money and earn living. They charge VAT if you support a broadcaster or a creator and at least 5-12% of your donation is added and is ripped off by patreon. Why? . Value Added Tax is paid when you buy goods in the UK however, you are not buying from these people. You are donating to support broadcasters and journalists however these patreon running people gave themselves the right to impose and confiscate some % from the donors in a totally unannounced way and without donors consent. I was not asked if I agree to donate to patreon before I clicked the button. They are behaving like parasites that dwell in the large bowels and feed on host nutrition without host permission or consent. If they were honest they should ask the donors if they are happy to give them some charity. ADVICE TO ALL CREATORS AND BROADCASTERS : PLEASE do not advise your supporters to use patreon as a way of donation. You can use your company bank account direct for this purpose. Remove their name from your list of payment.Patreon customer support is made so difficult and complex to navigate and it is very complex to remove your account as it is intentionally hidden in a pile of rubbish. You need to sieve through all the useless documents which is really exhausting. They refused to refund my payment when I decided to cancel it soon after paying the donation for Sonar 21 when I realised what is going on. In stead they asked me to ask the Sonar21 to refund me who did not receive the funds as it was a gift. I have a proof from the bank that PATREON received the funds. It is a trap you need to avoid.After complaining to them and asking them for a refund and cancellation ,I received a lengthy email full of B.S from a person calling himself LEON. No last name and no phone number. These are the whole marks of someone who wants to hide and avoid facing litigation. The reply was attempt to avoid a refund.

Very Disappointing Experience: All Subscription Cancelled
I contacted Patreon Support regarding a refund for an item that was not delivered. Under their own Refund Policy (“item not received” / “product mismatch”), my case should have qualified.Agent Sam handled my ticket: the response was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. My refund was denied without any clear, clause-specific explanation, and I was told the decision was final with no further communication.As an EU customer, I find this very concerning and not in line with expected consumer protections. Due to this experience, I have cancelled all my subscriptions and will be using alternative platforms instead.

Patreon Creator Fraud
Imagine buying a service from a user in Patreon, their service (which is a software) doesn't work as intended, you report that to the creator directly, to their public developement page and to them in their discord (as stated in their page, which will give better timers for answer). The person doesn't reply to you, you open a refund request with patreon, telling you that this situation can't be handle because is an external issue. A patreon creator tells you to use their software that you get in the patreon tier that uses an external website? And tells you to use external methods to talk to you? Funny right?So after being ignored by the creator and patreon not helping because they support fraud, I opened a bank fraud statament, you should do the same and not use this forsaken website tbh.Can't recommend to use patreon.com user metaidea's software.

Be careful with your card payments
It was initially good, but I cancelled my account. Impossible to get these people to stop taking my money. Be VERY careful here and if you signup and cancel be willing to go through the process of canceling your credit card afterwards. I cancelled my membership around one year ago. And since then Ive been trying to get them to stop taking money. So even though I give them my full name and they are able to cancel my account to block me from seeing more videos they are apparently NOT able to cancel my payments and keep taking and taking and taking and taking my money from my card via applepay - of course its only 6.50€ per month, but what do I have to do to get them to stop? Cancel my debit card

If I could leave negative stars, I would.
Some time ago a Patreon creator used my legal name they got through the billing info to find my facebook and doxxed me throughout a community over being involved in similar "competitive" communities in the same type of hobby and having left their own. I am still suffering to this day the consequences of their use of my information and yet their community page still remains up with 0 consequences as Patreon did nothing about my complaints. If you want somewhere that will not support those who abuse privacy, Patreon is not the platform for you.

Extremely Poor Handling of Moderator Abuse and Refund Request
I subscribed to a Patreon creator whose services were run via an external Discord server. After being mistreated by one of the moderators (including hostility, tone-policing, and eventual banning after I mentioned I’d contact Patreon), I lost access to the service I paid for.I provided Patreon with clear, well-documented evidence — including screenshots, proof of payment, and a full timeline of events. Despite this, they offered no meaningful resolution and expected me to message the creator directly, even though I had already been muted and banned from their server.Patreon seems unwilling to intervene when creators or their teams behave unprofessionally, even when it involves denial of paid services and retaliation. I’ve now had to escalate this to a chargeback and will no longer trust the platform with my money.Would not recommend unless you’re absolutely sure the creator is trustworthy — because Patreon will not protect you.

Lazy useless support. Do not trust this platform
I have been using Patreon and I can confidently say that their customer support is non-existent. They simply do not care about their creators or users.It is frustrating to invest time and money into a platform that ignores you when things go wrong. If you are looking for a service that values its community and provides basic assistance, look elsewhere. Patreon is great at taking their cut, but terrible at providing any value in return. Three years of loyalty, lazy support. Do not trust this platform
I have been using Patreon for three years, and I can confidently say that their customer support is non-existent. Over this long period, I have reached out multiple times for various issues, and not once have I received actual help. They charged my subscription twice and the customer support said that I would have to chase the content creater to have my money back. The content create doesn’t respond at all! What a shite app. They get your money with no authorization. Andrea was the customer support.

Ignore any positive reviews you may read. And YES don't bother with even trying to set up a creator account. For context, I started my creator account around the beginning of December and have managed to accumulate over 2k USD equivalent in less than a month. I am aware that this is unusual for the platform but it has been over 2 weeks since they've blocked me from paying out any funds (I have withdrawn 0 as of date) and their team have FAILED to contact me in regards to this. I have sent them various emails in regards to all problems I have with this, as well as other interface issues they have restricted me from using. From my experience so far I have not only been annoyed at patreon for the lack of concern they have displayed concerning my usage of their platform, but also disappointed to the extent that I will be moving onto another site which doesn't use AI for literally everything. To cope with 2 account deactivations - I had made 3 more... not at the same time but a new one for each time they suspended or deactivated my account without warning after i had gained more subscribers. Not only does it appear as though they are refusing withdrawal of funds; I believe the only way they even make the annual amount which can be found on their public income page is because they are scamming us. From the other reviews I have read, I am glad I am not alone. I will make plans for future suing of this company. I am heavily dissatisfied with the lack of creator engagement and I believe that even at the single time I had a response for the simplest concern I put out - I was met with a response that neither answered my concern, nor was in full relation which makes me believe that the 'team' they use is just another collection of AI's. I am genuinely convinced they don't do crap until they are sued by people - like the previous incidence with the VVP thing I believe it was called with the videos. I am sure to be taking action against them - and if you have read up to this point and are a fellow suffering creator - I suggest you also consider suing them..

Over one month no reply from support…
Over one month no reply from support after they closed my account and held my money.Do not sell with this site.They seem to use AI to close accounts for "suspicious activity" and no human will reply or sort your issue.They just give you tickets when you try to contact them.

No access, no responses and took my money
I signed up for a classes that was posted in an Art group on Facebook I have been following for years. I paid and I got an email that I could access the classes. I had no access. I sent 3 tickets with photos of payment and showing no access. Nothing was solved and they erased my account. I contacted the instructor on Facebook. She send me messages through Pateron but the message button does not work and therefore I can't reply back. Basically, left out in the cold. I asked for a refund on my last ticket and no reply back. I believe they scam people out of money and impossible to contact.
