I ordered two items online with Orvis
I ordered two items online with Orvis. Used my credit card and my credit card for payment. Submitted and acknowledged. A few hours later I get an email stating I left these two items in my cart. I call Orvis, no answer. I email them. Hours later get a response your order is good, sorry. I get an email confirming the order at that time. Next day I receive an email that one item is not in stock but they will send the other item. I request the order cancelled and my gift card restored and my original credit card refunded. I request this three times with their customer service (the name customer service with Orvis is a lie, no service) but they want help me. Don't shop at Orvis as this is the 2nd time with Orvis this has happed in the last couple of years. No more Orvis, period.UPDATE-I wrote the CEO of Orvis with the above info and then received an email from a customer service manager who corrected everything. So thank you Orvis.

I've just called Orvis because a delivery was lost and they were so professional and kind. The agent was able to locate the package and assured me that they could and would send a replacement if I didn't receive the original in the correct time frame. This is an unusual experience in today's customer service! Thank you, Orvis. I will be a customer for life.

Sold me a product then told me days later it did not ship because they no longer had it.Zero inventory control and just offered a same credit on my next purchase. What nextpurchase after this???? What a jokeTHEN the next day they sent an email sellinga product, I looked immediately and the itemwas out of stock. They have no idea what theyare doing.

Very poor online experience
Online ordered a Sherpa Fleece and a Trucker cap. The Sherpa fleece at the time of ordering showed 4 garments left and the cap had no limitations. This order was to arrive at our son’s house in BC when we were visiting from the UK.Over twenty four hours later received an email stating my order had been cancelled due to items out of stock. Which was pretty disappointing. Obviously issues with either the website, WMS system or the order picking. Either way obviously issues and poor customer service from a website perspective.Since reading reviews this seems to be a regular occurrence. I have stressed that this has made me cautious in ordering anything from I’m the Orvis website.Not my first order in store, quality is very good hence a repeat customer. We’ll not on the website anymore.I hope you have a better experience.

Orvis does not honor advertised pricing
For the second time, (end of May and February, so I know this wasn’t just a one time issue) I ordered something on sale at Orvis. Each time the sale order was canceled with no notice to me, and checking my order history the order said completed, even though it had been canceled.Customer Service told me it was supply issues but the same products were on ‘sale’ on the website at a higher price. They were still in stock just for 20 or $30 more!TLDR: Orvis may advertise a lower sale price, but they don’t honor that price.Update: Orvis put through a charge on my Orvis credit card for a sweatshirt they didn’t have, hadn’t shipped, and were never going to ship! I had to call the credit card company to get a refund of the negative balance.

(TERRIBLE ORVIS RODS)I bought a frequent traveller, 9 foot rod about 9 years ago, i've only used it twice. Second time I used it, the second section near the tip snapped. So I rung up Orvis and they informed me my rods did not have A lifetime warranty.I bought this rod thinking had a lifetime warranty,Unfortunately, this rod didn't. This is the last time I'm buying a Orvis product. So before you buy one, get it in writing by Orvis the rod you buyer's got a full time lifetime warranty. OWFUL

It WAS a good customer focused company
I have been a customer since many years. I recently placed an order and they chose to ship Priority ground advantage(parcel post). Two weeks later it appears to be lost. As an eBay seller I NEVER use this undependablle service. They go cheap and this happens. I will never shop there again. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Orvis, Charlotte,NC. I have been going to this store for over 14 years, ever since we moved here to Charlotte. I first dealt with Mary, “the store mgr”. She was awesome, but was promoted to district mgr. Then there was Connie, the new store mgr. I just want to brag on her, as well as her staff. It is just the simple things they do for their customers. I had a Barbour jacket sent off for repair, and “unfortunately it was lost in transit” no fault of theirs. All repairs were made, as well they didn’t charge me anything. This was suppose to be well over a $100. I will always continue to be their customer. SO MISLEADING! They offer a coupon code which I applied at checkout and when I did so, my SUBTOTAL INCREASED by almost $200 WITH THE CODE! The items I was purchasing were on sale. USING THE CODE effectively made my purchase over $150 MORE than without the code! What a JOKE! Get your back-end tech right so customers do not experience this ridiculous kind of error - this is year 2025 (almost) after all! Further, you state you are Customer Obsessed, "100% CUSTOMER SATISFACTIONhas been our commitment since 1856. It’s who we are. If you aren’t happy with a product or service, we want to know about it. And we’ll make it right. THAT’S THE ORVIS WAY." --- But this kind of situation does not show you are focused on Customer Satisfaction, nor does the fact that no one ever replies to the Chat Messages - you can sit for hours and never get a response. Very disappointing first-time customer experience overall.

YUCK2- bought the EVERGREEN Boxy cardigan. Looks great, classy cut. Wore twice, looks like an old thrift store buy. Linty, so much wear and tear all over. Can't imagine EVER buying from ORVIS again. Spent over $300.00 on the two sweaters!!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

I ordered a pair of wading boots for my wife. Shipment arrived containing only one boot. [How does this kind of event happen?] I got an Orivs person on the phone who promised to ship a full set via "Next Day" UPS. "Next Day" came and went. No boots. Next day, Orvis site showed boots were pending pick up by UPS with no deliver date. I had several communications with Orvis personnel who all disclaimed any problem. Worst was the Orvis person who blamed the Longshoreman's' East Coast strike for the delay. Orvis promised to "resolve the issue" and said they would up-date me via email. I received no email or any other followup from Orivs. You have got to careful monitor Orvis to make sure it ships what you pay for. I suggest that in dealing with Orvis you be on alert that what your are told may or may not happen. There is no way to make Orvis both responsible and accountable. Maybe shop elsewhere?

Bait and Switch?!
Placed an order on July 2nd and Orvis acknowledged that it wouldn't ship until July 12th. July 12th came and went and still no shipment. Went online and discovered that the ship date had been pushed out until July 26th. Contacted customer service and they advised me that they still did not have the product but tried to push a bait and switch claiming that instead of the $18 fly box I ordered I could purchase a fly fishing pack at $119. This was a birthday gift and was required prior to July 26th. I asked if I could cancel the order and they only offered a store credit. Awful delivery and customer service

The sales person was so rude to me.I am beginner fly fisherman and I was looking for maybe rod combo set for me .while discussions with sales person after a few minutes a new customer walked in looking at fly rods and he left me standing there alone while he started working with new customer ,he never said anything to me but just abandoned me after I drove for 30 minutes to get there.After standing there 10 minutes I left and went to Quest outdoor and they were fantastic.This was in Louisville ky off of highway 42
