Be very if you are thinking about using them
I had been considering joining a Private health Care insurance for some time. I spoke with Clearhealth on a number of occasions especially regarding the process of having treatment that was agreed by the parent company AXA. My wife had had a very good experience at the local Spire hospital, via the NHS and I was so impresssed with the care she received - this made me want to go with Clearhealth. I joined on the 1st July and on the 17th July visited my doctor for an open referal letter as I had a small twinge in my left knee. I then rang the claims line and said that I would like to take some advice about the twinge. The AXA claims employee asked me for a spacific date when this started, I said it was difficult to be precise but over the past few weeks, HE suggested the date of the 27th June and I said 'OK' to my mind this was an arbitrary date - As I had no idea what this twinge was. He suggested I have some physio under the scheme, to date I have had two sessions. I then had a call on the 25th July saying that the claim had been rejected as the condition was 'pre-existent'. I then rand Clearhealth and complained and spoke to one of their managers. two issues to highlight1. The date when the twinge started was suggested by the AXA claims team and I unthinkingly agreed - If I would have said three days later maybe this issue would not have happened.2. Pre existing conditions, I nave never been to the doctor about this twinge or take any medication - how do I know what this issue is..If you are thinking about Clearhealth I would be very careful before proceeding - I have made a complaint to AXA and they have said they will look at it in 8 weeks.lets see
