With all these negative reviews I've come to the conclusion that Linode must be the one to beat in the very competitive and often shady VPS hosting space. The acquisition of Linode by [the unpronounceable] Akamai a few years back made me nervous but not much as changed (and that's a good thing). The few times I've had to contact support they were helpful although the [in country] phone support offered by Linode before the acquisition was better. That is to say supports is now email only but in my limited experience it's responsive and fine. That telephone support has been dropped and prices have gone up is a bit annoying tho.My needs are simple, I just want straight-forward old school clean VPS with predictable pricing, everything else (per second AWS style pricing etc.) is BS IMHO for my needs.I suspect most of the negative reviews written by people flagged for fraudulent activity are probably written by people who in fact should have been flagged as such and now they're bombing trustpilot. Indeed, I came here peeved about a recent cryptic email form Linode about upcoming changes to DNS resolvers but after reading all the negative reviews (and checking out who those negative reviewers recommend) I'm thinking that Linode is still the common sense solution for my very basic needs.Also, perhaps just coincidentally, I had some issues last year with emails form my server suddenly getting blocked (no DEMARC) which cleared up a several months ago - it has me thinking perhaps these negative reviews are the price to be paid for running a clean operation? Not sure.Anyway, as an established pre-Akamai customer with regards to all the people getting flagged for suspicious activity all I can say to Akamai is: better safe than sorry and the negative reviews don't represent any concern of mine and in fact have convinced me to stick around a bit longer.
These guys are complete idiots! I use the same data ( including my credit card & company data for years with AWS, Digital Ocean, Vultr, Cloudways, WPEngine, the entire Laravel ecosystem ( Forge, Cloud, Nightwatch, etc ), Hetzner ( with verifications of my ID and my company ). We have a large number of services that we offer to a variety of clients and never has any issues with anybody in the past. Not even once. I can, of course, get a VPS from this "Linode BS" using Cloudways or other services but just wanted to test the service and after taking my credit card & company info, I get this email: Your recently created account has been denied activation due to activity or patterns associated with fraudulent behavior. Additional attempts to sign up may also be rejected.The Akamai Compute TeamNow I need to go to the bank and change that card. Smells like scammers to me. Please take care of your work. This is rude & uncalled for. Practically the definition of an bunch of stupid idiots!

I’ve been a Linode user for a while, but since September I’ve completely lost access to my account and all related services — without receiving any email or warning beforehand.What’s worse is that I’ve tried multiple times to contact Linode support, but there has been no response or resolution. This level of service is really disappointing and unprofessional, especially for a company that presents itself as developer-friendly and reliable.I received a marketing email recently, which felt ironic considering my account is still inaccessible and no one has addressed my issue.At this point, I cannot recommend Linode to anyone who values stability and customer support.— Mahziyar Azimzadeh

Within an hour got a snotty email telling me ...A recently created account with this email address was canceled by our automated systems. This was due to activity or patterns associated with fraudulent behavior. Additional attempts to sign up may also be rejected.This is the worst customer experience I've ever seen or heard of. They can keep their crappy service.And now they have my address and credit card details.Scary. Keep away from these cowboys !!
I don't know why so negative here. Linode remains one of the best and most professional providers out there. Been a customer for over 10 years. Never a hiccup in the service.Their linodes are a bit pricey for the storage, but that's because they're ssd. For cheap storage, I use their object storage which is superb compared to other providers.
I’ve been charged for years for object storage when I took everything out of my storage they still were charging me. My card was expired. It still was charging me. I would not recommend this service to anyone.
Other people writting about this as well. Server been down for 18 hours so far - no end in sight. I wouldn't host with them to save my mothers life. Ruined the repuation of my business I have sent years building.
Today experiencing a 7 hour downtime. Yes it wasn't a typo A 7 HOUR DOWNTIME that keeps on going, avoid like a plague.Edit: Total downtime was 22hours.....
I‘m honestly surprised by the negative feedback on here. While my sign up experience wasn't flawless, the rest is pretty good! We‘ve been a customer of Linode for quite some time now and have never had a bad experience. Our K8s cluster never had a problem. What we really appreciate is the rapid deployment speeds of new nodes, takes maybe 1-2 minutes max with Linode compared to AWS where it can take up to 10 minutes. Billing also works just fine. Would choose Linode any day for managed Kubernetes.
Racist company keep denying me services based on my name on the pretend that is because of fradualent activity when I've never had the access to their services. Network Chuck keep recomending them but i guess they sucks
Cannot trust Akamai billing and lack of key infrastructure for a Cloud provider. For a student yes but for a big business they are not enterprise ready.

I have tried over four days now to sign up for a Linode cloud hosting account to no avail. I have responded to several "verify your email" messages, and entered my payment and address information at least four times. Still I hear nothing from the company and was never able to create an account. When I finally call customer service, the connection is so poor that I can literally not understand the person on the other end. For a customer who is moving away from "regular" hosting option, looking for a more sophisticated solution, this was the absolutely worst image Linode/Akamai could have presented me. If a vendor cannot even solve a new client application, how can I trust their service? After completely losing confidence, I will, utterly discouraged, find another vendor.
I seriously can't understand all these negative reviews, there must be something in the sign-up process.I've been a customer for many years and the service is excellent, servers are fast and costs are standard.The times I needed to contact customer support they replied quickly and were very helpful.
We were having network issues between two of their data center locations. Rather than shifting the blame like most providers would do, they performed a thorough investigation and got to the bottom of it. Here is just a small snippet of their responses: "The investigation this ticket initiated across the broader team revealed several nuances, as we needed to consider multiple factors to narrow down the issue. Our team examined various aspects, including components of our Object Storage infrastructure, tracing and analyzing requests made to your Object Storage service in Newark, and evaluating the performance of different traffic routes from the Dallas region. That said, we believe the team has isolated a component of our networking infrastructure that could be underperforming intermittently."Absolutely terrific support!
Worst service i have ever experienced..I paid everything to linode one day i got email that i got some malicious activity in my server so they put some network restrictions. i tried to resolve that but i couldn't do that so i created a clone which is the service of linode. yesterday linode stopped my server and website which leading me alot of finance problems. i request you to chose other services instead of this
