Wills and probate to take 3 years to…
Wills and probate to take 3 years to settle my parents estate. No fixed fee but the bill is based on time taken. Gareth Day unorganised and false promises and described to me as a Swan (elegant and sophisticated on the surface but below the water line unorganised and almost out of control). Opening letter from the firm gave timelines to settle the estate of 6 to 12 months, probate came back after 6 months which is normal but Gareth’s work took a further 2.5 years to complete, lost paperwork, signatures for investments requested multiple times and false promises. Be very careful when choosing your solicitors for such an emotional event in your life. I would not recommend.

Use this firm at your own peril
I have used 4 sets of lawyers in recent years for probate and property matters. The conveyancing experience was extremely disappointing. The solicitor handling my case was unprofessional as I considered she was rude and generally unhelpful throughout the process. There was no initiative taken to close the sale and in effect I had to contact the estate agency to get the sale expediated. Very defensive when I pointed out errors in how costs were allocated. I would not use this firm again and would never recommend them to others.

It as taken a solicitor three years to sort out two relatives Wills at this company in Retford. I am no expert, but, i am sure it shouldn't have taken this long to sort! It took another solicitor approx' six MONTHS to sort two Wills/Probate out so why it took so long with our cases, i don't know! On a house sale, we didn't receive any correspondence from the conveyancer to keep us Updated Until i contacted them! Surely it is not down to the grieving clients to Push for a closure but we Had to because it took too long! It is okay doing a Will with them but when people are grieving They need it sorting has soon as possible, not eighteen months later! From a unhappy ex client that will not be Recommending this Company to Anybody!!!

If I could give a higher rating I would! I dealt with Will Jones regarding a probate dispute. For obvious reasons it was a very sensitive subject, but Will made the process as smooth as it possibly could be, and guided me every step of the way. He was very welcoming and easy to talk to, he got us to a positive outcome and I couldn’t be more grateful. Communication was brilliant and timely, I would definitely recommend the firm and highly recommend Will!

If there were no stars to give I would. Telephoned today after receiving some paperwork about their costs as I felt they have misunderstood what I needed help with. Receptionist was very curt and rude and put me on hold while I was talking! When I said I wasn't happy with their explanation and felt the fees to be excessive and unclear I was told I can collect the papers I had left and go to another solicitor. I will collect said papers on Monday. Have a good weekend.

Our house sale was emotionally difficult as we were selling our parents home following their deaths. There were also added complications. Everyone we communicated with were friendly, polite and helpful and kept us updated with what was going on. Would definitely use again! A big thank you to all the staff.
