A total mess
Review Schmidt Global Relocations (SGR) 14.08.2024 till 02.09.2024Through a British company, Total Moving Solutions (TMS) I arranged moving my complete household from the UK to Germany. This British company used the Dutch SGR to perform the actual move - pick-up from the UK - storage (19 days) - delivery in Germany.I had labelled and numbered all my items. SGR attached their own numbers. To start with the removers from Holland, well one from Holland and one from Poland, attached their own numbers over my numbers, which I commented on, and then they stopped doing that. While loading their container, a drawer fell out of a small chest of drawers. They did not comment on that, but I mentioned it to TMS in an email. One of the removers told me my household would remain in this container until delivered - this was not true. When delivering my goods SGR had only brought a fraction of my goods, now in a different container and even tried to deliver items not belonging to me.They drove away to collect the missing items. On return some items were still missing. They drove away yet again but could not find any more of my items. At one stage one of the two Polish removers discreetly placed a very small box between my furniture, obviously trying to hide something. This small box had been packed in a larger box and must have dropped out of this larger box. Or was this deliberate? One of the Polish removers persuaded me to sign for the delivery as he claimed I had eight weeks to complain. This was also not true as the time frame later turned out to be only seven days.I then realized several other items were missing, six items of the 120 were gone - 5%.I was blamed for not checking every item number - mine and theirs - on delivery. The two Polish removers did not note what numbers had been delivered. How can so many items go missing - unless something organised were behind.Their treatment of my household was clearly rather heavy-handed. Furniture was scratched, dented, and chipped. Boxes very squeezed so several items inside were squashed or broken, several handles from the furniture were broken off. Three items were broken and could not be repaired.I can only wonder where my missing household has ended up - delivered to the wrong destination or on a Polish market somewhere? This is much too much to be a coincidence. My recommendation is to stay away from this Dutch Schmidt company.
