Envato uses dark UX to trick people into paying for a year instead by the month. I very carefully signed up for one month to try out the site, found a few PSD mockups to use, and then came back to cancel and I had been charged for a year. I have had a dozen or more different subscriptions and this has never happened, somewhere there was a bait-and-switch and I will make sure to tell other designers to steer clear of Envato!
I was a long time subscriber from the days before they even offered AI tools. I was so happy when they started including AI tools with the subscription. It wasn't perfect but with a few tries you could get something usable and I was happy with it. I always defended them when people were unhappy with only 30 generations for AI video because they offered so many other AI tools without limits.I felt I didn't need any other subscription. This was an ALL IN ONE for me. I started using AI tools in my workflow because of them. I supported them and praised them. In this world of greedy companies, they felt like one that genuinely supported creators. I always had a "What's New on Envato" tab open, excited to see their latest offerings.And then they not only gave in to greed but became outright ridiculous. Offering just 10 generations a month?! Even the Plus plan doesn't make sense since it's so expensive, and simple tasks like upscaling or basic image edits count as a generation. The AI voice gen takes a few tries to get right and those retries count too. And I won't even talk about how crazy the Ultimate plan is.I wouldn't have been this disappointed if they had grandfathered old subscribers or at least offered more than 10 generations a month but instead they insulted us by changing our plans to this. Sadly, after years of loyalty, I have to find another platform because of how they treated us. It's truly heartbreaking.

The new changes and pricing for AI generation is unacceptable and the only way to stop them from forcing users to pay such crazy amounts is to share alternative platforms and start boycotting envato. We should stop using there services so they can be realistic about 10 image generation. When you generate an image it normally takes about 10 generations to get the image to be more or less what you want it to be so you are not actually generating 10 images but 10 versions of an image. This is useless.
I honestly feel let down. I paid for unlimited AI access, and now it’s limited to 10 generations per month. That’s less than what some free tools offer. As someone who creates daily, this makes the subscription useless for me. I expected much better transparency and fairness.
I have been with Envato since they started. They have slowly evolved into having the biggest collection of unattractive images to use for promotions. But it's so bad, ugly people don't even want their images. I'm done.

I’ve generated thousands of images and edits because the results were superior and the "unlimited" nature fit a professional workflow.I understand you need to monetize AI, but the new "Core" plan limits are an absolute joke. Offering 10 generations per month across graphics, video, music, and images is essentially offering nothing. Professionals "roll" the AI multiple times just to get one usable result.To count a simple image upscale as 1 full credit—the same as a video or music generation—is unreasonable. Even Adobe understands that different media types should consume different resources. Here, everything is just drained from a tiny, useless pool of 10.Honestly, I’d rather you remove the 10 generations from my account entirely so I don't have to see them. It's an insult to a long-term user. Most free tools on the market offer more than 10 generations a month. If you want to charge, make it reasonable.You’ve taken my favorite AI tool and made it unusable. I’m now forced to move my workflow back to Canva Pro or Adobe Express, where paying a fee actually grants you the utility needed to get work done. Great library, but this AI "update" is a massive step backward.
Do not buy their subscription. Not only will the support lie to you and say you made up a scenario (website UI changed and they won't admit it) they will also overcharge you for the same fonts found cheaper elsewhere.

I bought a template from them , for which I ve read before about it that was good for my purposes. Unfortunately the reviews i read for the template were fake because the template had many problems damaging my website and my business - already from first days of my purchase i notified them that i had problems so i wanted help to fix the problems if was possible otherwise i wanted refund and return of the product (as they are obligated) - they replied to me that they will try to fix - but unfortunately nothing was fixed (after 5 days) - so i requested the refund (i was still first days after the purchase) - so envato replied that the person that build the template is not accepting the refund - so you buy from Envato but Envato pretends is just the messenger between you and the programmer who build the template - so its kids SCAM - i wonder how no one have closed this site - its disgrace for programming people - Beware - stay away!!!
I've been using them for getting stock assets for videos for 3 years. i am at whits end. my channel is focused on LGBT and a very specific audience - gay men. yeah sometimes some females are alright - but when i am looking for stock footage - and i am editing - i dont care about DEI - i care about accurate search output. every time in my search parameters i have men, man, male, bro, brothers - ANYTHING relating to a term describing a biological MALE - FEMALES ALWAYS APPEAR IN THE SEARCH RESULTS. try searching for sister, girl, women, woman. NO MALES EVER APPEAR IN THE RESULTS. This is beyond ridiculous and a complete waste of time if their asset search engine cant even get a basic thing like this right.
This website will definitely scam you. They'll sell you a defective, non-functional product with no support. I bought a theme for my website, and it turned out to have many problems. When I contacted them, a person named Billie kept stalling and redirecting me to the theme developer, who didn't respond to his emails or provide any helpful support. In the end, I found out I had paid money for a fake product.

When you reach out for help, the responses often feel unhelpful or dismissive. Instead of addressing the actual issue, you’re frequently told to purchase additional plugins or pay extra — sometimes around $50 — just to fix problems that shouldn’t have existed in the first place.Most templates seem to require extra purchases, extra fixes, or extra troubleshooting. It defeats the purpose of paying for a subscription that’s supposed to provide ready‑to‑use, high‑quality assets.Overall, Elements.Envato has become more of a headache than a solution. I really hope they improve their quality control and support, because right now the experience is far from what users expect.
Envato completely failed to protect me as a buyer.I purchased a script from CodeCanyon that was clearly advertised as a complete SaaS platform, including subscription billing, payment gateway integration, tenant onboarding, and automation features. These features were not only listed in the product description but also fully demonstrated in the official preview video.After purchasing and installing the product, I discovered that the core SaaS functionality was intentionally disabled or missing from the delivered code under the Regular License. These are not minor optional features — they are fundamental components that define the product as a SaaS platform in the first place.When I contacted the author, they refused to provide the advertised functionality and demanded that I purchase a more expensive license instead. During this dispute, the author even deactivated my license, preventing me from using the product I already paid for.I escalated the issue to Envato Support expecting fair investigation and buyer protection. Bought Houzez template with a lifetime licence. For some reason it stopped working. Instead of solving the issue they wanted me to PAY for support to solve an issue that shouldn't occur in the first place. It clearly said on the terms lifetime updates
Their customer support is terrible. Keep refusing to give refund even though the theme I purchased is faulty. They do not follow their own refund policies. Been 1 week now and still arguing with them. The author I purchased the theme from will not respond to the refund request. I had to get PayPal to step in and complete the refund.
