Perks don't work

Unsubscribed over break so I would not be paying for something I would not use. When I resubscribed, all the perks were resent to me. However, when I try to activate them, they do not work. Despite Chegg saying they are for new and existing members on website, customer support says they are only for first time users. Advice was to delete my chegg account and resubscribe with new email address.

My daughter used Chegg but stopped many…

My daughter used Chegg but stopped many months ago. Somehow they took the subscription from my visa card. No problem, but I don't know her account info and she doesn't remember it. Chegg has no customer phone, email or chat available so I am unable to explain the situation. They make it almost impossible to stop a recurring subscription if you don't have the account info. Borderline scam in my opinion.

This company commits fraud

This company commits fraud. they were double charging every month. We canceled in April 2025, and are still charging every month, it is now October. They will not stop. I will be getting a lawyer involved. Do not use this company.

American Businesses Suck and Steal People's Money

Chegg is a reason why people should avoid American businesses like the plague. These American business people should be imprisoned for stealing money. They steal people's money after they cancelled their subscription. It's no coincidence why people are telling their banks to prevent further charges from these nasty companies like Chegg.Chegg like many American businesses have awful customer support service and waste people's time with this flawed AI system that spits out wrong answers for students. America is ruining education with AI's inability to think critically. These companies and "educational" institutions that have become obsessed with AI are ruining society.Companies like Chegg have obnoxious captcha and bot detection systems preventing harmless users from being to access answers with subscriptions that they paid for. Which defeats the purpose of being able to use Chegg in the first place.

Predatory and full of AI generated answers

They don't notify you when they take subscription fees and they also add on extra charges with no reason given. Most of the content is now AI generated and full of errors. Support is AI, help is non-existent. AVOID.

Worst customer service ever. Scam

I ordered papers for $14.99 and never received them. They were sent to my daughters school. I forgot about it and they charged me $175 for some papers I never received. Customer service was terrible and unhelpful. Less than one star rating for me. Aweful! scam don’t use

No humanity left in "Customer Service"

Unfortunately, there is no more customer service. I paid $800 for textbooks and rented one. I wanted to extend the rental, but I missed the date to do that. When I asked if they could extend for the next semester, they said they couldn't do it. Either I had to buy an overpriced book or send it back. The rigidity makes me not want to use Chegg again. Customer service is gone, there is no humanity any more.

Charging for cancelled subscription

I cancelled my subscription in 2021. It's 2025 and they are still sending charges to my Credit Card. My only option is to cancel the card and get a new number which would be a huge hassle.

DO NOT subscribe to Chegg. This has been a nightmare. I cancelled the subscription yet they are still charging me. I talked to a customer service representative and they did not help whatsoever. Unfortunately I have been paying for months and I do not know how to get out of this. Worst experience ever and do not recommend to anyone.

Our son subscribed years ago in…

Our son subscribed years ago in college. He's now been out of school for 3 years and we are still battling to cancel this subscription. We've tried every avenue from disputing the charge thru our credit card to blocking the charges from coming thru all together. Somehow they manage to get around everything we put in place. AND aside from the futile effort put forth dealing with it, we don't have high hopes of getting refunded for the roughly $450 in charges. If I could give them 0 stars i would.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. They told me a year ago that my subscription was canceled and have been still charging me since. They refuse to refund me for the $200 dollars they stole from me. This website is a scam and should not be trusted.

Bad service offering

The company always acknowledges its errors and bad quality of work. But they don't take the next step to fix their problems. Since, it's a subscription based-service, they have created a policy to avoid refunding subscribers when things go wrong and expectations are not met.

Never ever use them if it truly matters that you get your book

Wishing I could put all that happened, because it was even worse than this review. I'm hoping these are at least salient enough points. I ordered a 2 volume set for my rotation, which is only 4 weeks long. I can't order before I have a syllabus, so I ordered when I could. They sent me vol. 1, even though the order says vol. 1&2, so I know I didn't mess it up. They did. I got the book late Thursday night, too late to contact them. So I contacted them Friday morning. I was told I would my answer either Saturday or Monday.I contact on Monday, after waiting all day just to give them time. I hadn't heard anything back. I was told I would have to wait another 72 hours to hear back. Not 72 hours to get vol 2, not 72 hours with a tracking number. 72 hours for them to figure out where my order even was. The representative was rude as well. So this review isn't pages long, I will just say that she not only wouldn't let me speak to anyone else, Matte said she had made a point of putting notes on my account to ensure no one else would try to help me either. I finally waited long enough that she had clocked out, and the next person I spoke with said it wasn't Chegg I was supposed to speak with. It was Valore, but when I contacted them, they said Chegg, who said it's Valore, etc. At that point, I was more curious to see if anyone would even make an effort, but Matte made good on her word. No one even tried. I had already ordered from somewhere else by then.But now I had the predicament of returning a book in a city I don't know because I'm on an away rotation. The label they sent wasn't set up for pick up, even though UPS comes to this building daily. I asked if they would do that, and they said no, I had to figure it out, even though it's a "hassle". Otherwise, I can expect to be charged for a rental when I never actually received my book. I have multiple times asked who I can talk to as a level of support above these representatives. Either they are working under no management (which is semi-believable given what happened), or they are rogue employees who, b/c of distance, know it is hard to get beyond them. I will likely head to the BBB next, not because it necessarily has teeth, but because I have to do all I can to protect other people. There is no consequence to them for a failure at every possible level. It's us end users.Valore's association taints them for me now. I can't work with companies that I can't rely on *and* have no mechanism to deal with rectifying their mistakes.

They charge you for months and months…

They charge you for months and months and years on end even when you CANCELLED your subscription. I cancelled back in 2022 and my card has been charged this entire time, yet they say they can't do anything about it. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!

Non existent customer support. Lip service.

This is a waste of time. 3 months to try to rectify a sync issue between app and website. Their solution. Empty cache clear cookies. And take this issue seriously and are working hard to rectify it.BS. phoned 4 times. Same excuses, canceled it. Inept support with dumb techs or they don't care. Take your pick. Wish I could give negative stars.
