I ordered an apostilie of my husband's…

I ordered an apostilie of my husband's death certificate. It cost $185 and they returned the document without the apostille "the certificate is too old and may be rejected by the Department of Health or by the authorities in the destination country". His death was 6 years ago. Well of course it's old, he's dead! They don't update death certificates. Also, I believe I paid for an apostille, not an opinion whether or not it "MAY" be rejected.

This company is a total scam!

After waiting 72+ hours and sending two communications to the company, I have not received further information to secure a certified copy of my marriage license. I will be contacting my credit card company to request a refund related to non-service. Run don't walk away from this scam! Contact your clerk of court in the county where your document would be filed.

THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY

Do you like to spend a lot of money, investing in a time-sensitive matter, and then get totally jerked around? You've come to the right place with this company! They certainly don't rely on repeat business because their "business practices" would never support that. They happily pass along a "dummy number" to contact the apostille service department but guess what! It doesn't work! Puts you on hold and then after many minutes, just drops the call. I tried for WEEKS just to see if it was some fluke, but no, this is how they "do" customer service. No updates. They need more money. And ultimately, you're the one who winds up - weeks and months later - having to start the process all over again.

I paid VRO to obtain a certified copy…

I paid VRO to obtain a certified copy of my birth certificate. The cost was over $100. It’s been almost a year and i haven’t received it. I contacted them several times and the response was, call NYS dept of health and see if they sent it to you yet. I ended up calling the town clerks office where I was born and they said mail a copy of your drivers lic, mother/father’s name and surname and a check for $10. I received a certified copy 7 days later. VRO is a scam!!!

Just want to say Crown Point Vital…

Just want to say Crown Point Vital Statistics in Indiana wasn't very good with customer. The lady would not help me or even leave her desk. I was trying to get my sister's birth certificate so instead of the lady saying I'm going to have to pull it. She sent me to Gary instead. I called and Gary office was fantastic. Everyone who I spoke with were very good. I later got a call from Gary office told me the certificate was ready. Crown Point office sadly was not helpful at all.

Highly frustrating

Highly frustrating. Although they accepted my social security card as confirmation of identity kept dancing around other documents. Rejected state ID. Rejected 2025 SSDI statement, would only accept social security statement, which although silly may have been defined by DC, my place of birth. Would have accepted power bill in my name or paycheck stub. So I will see if I get my money back. I was incidentally trying to get a copy of my birth certificate, because if the SAVE act passes I want to continue to be able to vote. Maybe a little pricey, but since they’ve kept in constant contact with me probably not a scam. Started out by saying voter registration ID would be adequate secondary ID, I live in NC. DC records, which determined ID requirements as I was born there, are quite all right with a state ID, and this is the only thing necessary in addition to social security card. Since it will also let an employer confirm an I9, this makes sense. I applied for the certificate 10/11/25 and my confirmation number is VRO2007993Sarah Melissa Packard

Scam - avoid a all cost

This company did not provide the service I paid for. I have been waiting 10 months for 2 death certificates for my mom who passed away. They took my money but I never received anything. When I reached out they said NYSDOH was taking time to process. They could not provide any proof they sent the paperwork. I contacted NYSDOH multiple times, they have NO RECORD of the request. I requested help from this company and they told me it was my responsibility to follow up with NYSDOH. So why did I pay them???They have yet to show proof they did what they were paid to do. The NYSDOH said this company should not be allowed to have a similar name as theirs (gov't name: Vital check) They do that to scam people. This was not the first time NYSDOH had issues like mine. This company is a scam, not to mention they charged a significant amount more than the government site. Avoid at all cost. Go through the official government sites. I ended up contacting the town where my mom passed away and they sent me 2 death certificates which I received in a week and paid only $10 for. This company charged me $132 and I never received the death certificates. Rip off and scam!To reply to VitalRecords Online response - they never provide any tracking information or proof that NYSDOH ever received the request for the death certificates. I asked for this multiple times and they NEVER provided anything other than THEIR own internal reference number which means nothing to NYSDOH. NYSDOH has NO RECORD of the request for death certificates.

If I could give no stars

If I could give no stars, I would! I have been trying to get a death certificate since 12/02/2025. This time, 01/20/2026 is exactly the same. I have lost count of uploading the the same 2 documents. This insane! I wish there was another company that could do this. I have already wasted $50 on this! Do Not go with this company! SCAM, SCAM, SCAM!
