$4000 for a year of him saying keep at it. For a 4 yr player there was little value for me to get a handle on Hendrix. I can mime. But I cant get away with knowledge I dont possess. The course takes you through boot camp by simply miming exercises and assumes the student understands the theory behind it. And for what? To play Hendrix tunes yet not receive the understanding for the major and minor arppeggios and transistions that lead to true understanding. Any questions are briefly given during weekly meets but theres little substance to the lessons that provide a guitarist with fundamental music skill.

Melodic chordal soloing is a great corse demonstrating the Hendrix approach with hammer on double stops in each of the 5 cages shapes. I knew bits and pieces of this approach in 30 years of playing guitar but can now use every position in a structured way. This approach with some lead playing sound a lot more melodic and rhythmic as well

I joined Ulrich’s TGT Program beginning 2024 and have never regretted it since. Within TGT, Ulrich really offers you a structure and assignments and objectives to grab and dive into so that the right practice will make you a better musician, playing lead guitar. The weekly zoom sessions offer you the possibility to reflect and ask questions about your practice and progress. The TGT site offers a myriad of relevant theory, practice and assignments. You get personal feedback on your progress by posting videos of your progress. And on top of all, Ulrich is a really nice person, always interested, positive and willing to help you advance in a very personal way.

If you grow tired of watching countless videos on YouTube that promise to make you a better player. As a self-taught player it was my go-to resource. If that leaves you feeling like there is more to it, you may look into investing in yourself and get put on a path that will give you the foundation to be a solid guitarist. You get honest feedback, video classes and great support from Ulrich and company. Something YouTube doesn’t provide. Plus the community is so awesome and encouraging. It’s incredible to be on a journey with so many others all wanting to be the best guitar players they can be. No competition or egos. Ulrich is a fantastic player, and really wants you to be as well. He is a very knowledgeable teacher and will be your biggest fan. You do have to put in the work and effort. But nothing worthwhile is ever easy. I can honestly say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made for myself related to guitar playing. Wish I would have done it sooner. I’ve only been doing it for two months and have noticed improvements. Which really helps in keeping me motivated.

I joined TGT about 6 months ago. I started playing guitar in my early teens and have played in local bands on and off for years. I got to a point in my playing where I could play songs and knew a few scales. But I was stuck. I wasn’t getting better, and didn’t really have an understanding of what I was doing. I wanted to learn and get better. I tried some other online programs and they were somewhat helpful, but no feedback and no indication anyone really had any interest in my progress. With Ulrich and his team, all that changed. One on one feedback, a “basic training” program that is far from “basic,” that gets your skills up for the main program. FOUR live lessons a week, homework reviewed and analyzed by Ulrich. The material is organized and will take you as far and as deep as you are able or care to go. I truly believe there is nothing out there comparable. Then “Transformation week’” intense solid week of in person training with Ulrich and his pro band and staff, Bart and Miguel, with our own live performance nights. On a personal level , Ulrich, is the real deal both musically and as a person. If this review seems over the top to you. I mean it to be. TGT is that good.

My personally most successful learning group for music ever
I am playing guitar since almost 50 years, but for decades I have been noodling around, and for almost 20 years, as many other colleagues, I have been blocked by a rather exhausting job. With 62 years I started again with online lessons, but there the problem is usually that one cannot get enough feedback. I now have a real teacher in my hometown, what works best for me. Then I saw Ulrich Ellison playing Hendrix stuff and offering an online group focusing on Jimi’s galaxy and other great themes. It was and is a wonderful extension of my personal lessons. Meeting the other people in weekly online sessions is helpful and fascinating, since one can interact with the teacher directly. Ulrich Ellisons advices for your videos — which you can post within the closed group of the TGT Academy — are extremely competent, very detailed and always absolutely constructive showing you what might be your next steps. He is an extraordinary educated musician, a great teacher and a world class guitarist. Taken together, since my work within the TGT my guitar playing and musicianship as an amateur has developed tremendously. The highlight of my music life was just the week together with other students in Austin/Texas. Meeting and interacting in the real world with professional and friendly musicians giving you a 1 to 1 feedback is a life changing step.I experienced a real transformation!! Thank you, Ulrich Ellison and all you people there working hard for us guitar enthusiasts!!

Quite frankly I am amazed at what Ulrich provides for his students. His energy, his knowledge his patience, and the materials in the course. That being said your success is on you, practice you must. Ulrich will review your submitted videos and he will make sure before handing out “ completes” you grasp the subject. I believe before you receive your certificate of achievement you will have confidence in your guitar skills and you will have earned it.

The Total Guitar Transformation Academy is amazing!
The Total Guitar Transformation Academy is just that, a true academy that will take your guitar skills to the next level if you put in the work. The program is carefully thought out and structured into modules with carefully curated exercise tasks. The first two modules take you through foundational technical skills whereupon a Basic Training certificate is earned upon completion of 10 tasks in the form of video submissions. Modules 4-6 focuses on musical development centered around 4 specific Hendrix songs where you build not only musical knowledge and vocabulary, but also develop your ear training, touch, tone, phrasing, dynamics, etc. Completion of 12-16 tasks throughout these modules culminates in earning the core TGT program graduation certificate. The video submissions are carefully reviewed directly by Ulrich himself with helpful feedback provided to coach you along the way. There is also a weekly group lesson on zoom where Ulrich directly answers questions and helps students on whatever they may be working on. Finally, the Facebook group is full of like-minded passionate guitarists at all levels from all around the world. This experience has been enriching by creating relationships through interacting and encouraging one another. TGT truly rocks!

Ulrich is the best teacher you can have!Signing up for the TGT course is the best investment i have done.TGT gave me and still gives a lot of eye openers that opened up new possibilities to chanel all my creativity into.A mindblowing experiece like the first time you read something and actually understand what you have read.Ulrich is a very good teacher that knows his stuff and explains his topics in good detail.He also really cares about the progress of his students and invest alot of his time in them by watching all the students video's and gives constructive feedback to each of them.Ulrich is also easy to approach if you have any questions or just need some extra info.His ears are legendary, if you think Ulrich does not here that 1 tiny wrong note in your performance than you are wrong.He instantly hears it, knows what note it is and what note it should be ;-).Last but not least, Ulrich is a very nice guy and has a lot of patience and always encourage you with your journey.

TGT Academy has become my home base. Being new to playing, I’ve only picked up my first electric guitar in 2019, I tend to wander around the internet searching for guitar lessons. Once I joined TGT, I gained confidence that I am always on the right path of learning. No more bouncing around random guitar lessons on line. From warmups and practices to the core lessons and tasks, the TGT program is very well structured. Every lesson is essential to accomplishing tasks, tasks that will help you out in understanding and learning the next lessons, lessons that will help you accomplish the next task. You are always moving forward and you can feel and hear the results in your playing. It’s inspiring to see the community Urich has built, grow so much in a short time. New students are always being accepted and a lot of them are already accomplishing tasks ahead of me. Also Urich, apart from being an awesome human being, he also walk the talk. He’s a pro musician still playing, touring and writing songs. I am so fortunate to be learning from him and be part of the community. I can’t wait to get further along the program. I know it will a big leap from where my skills are at the moment. I cannot recommend TGT enough to anyone wanting to pursue playing the elector guitar.

You get a lot for your money. Weekly video group calls with time for your questions, feedback to your uploaded videos, an archive with all weekly lesson and a great learning platform with a lot of material. Ulrich gave me the sense if I got my practice habits right then I could do whatever I chose to do on the guitar to be a better musician. He makes it achievable by chunking it down it to patterns for repeating.He critiques progress along the way and does not give a #complete on a task until we reach a level of proficiency that is of a high standard. He is rigorous in that, very fair, and points out areas for improvement until its 'under my fingers'He has also taught myself and others, that age is no barrier, the only barrier is the one between the ears!For anyone looking to grow as a musician, to feel capable and it is achievable, then join this family. I would like to provide my finest commendation to Total Guitar Transformation academy and its creator and a fine mentor, Ulrich Ellison.I have been a student at TGT for about 8 months now, I have learned about the internals of guitar playing techniques, music theater, composition, you name it... More than I have learned in a couple of decades. At this point, when someone throws around something to the tune of "playing using diminished 7th arpeggios" this actually does make sense to me which is absolutely wonderful!All in all, I can't recommend Ulrich and his course more. Ulrich is also fostering such fantastic and friendly community, that helps to propel each one of the students along the course.I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone passionate about guitar and music in general.

How to speak MUSIC
How to speak the beautiful language of music. This is the most valuable thing that I learned from Ulrich. This made me think like a musician. I didn’t even think about this aspect when I entered the course. I thought that melody and chords is all - but learned that rhythm, accentuations and dynamics is what makes music eventually alive. Then there was the Basic Training stuff. This is a well-structured system. The TGT community provides an extremely powerful support here. If you accomplished this, then you became a guitar player.
