When my MIL was diagnosed with dementia, we had already started talking control of her finances. She had spent herself into a load of debt and was forgetting to pay bills.As.we were getting her back into financial shape we were trying to find something to allow her to have some independence but with stronger guard rails than banks typically had for adults.True Link has been so helpful. They even quickly added a feature that I suggested - to put in spending curfews - after I measaged them looking for an easier way to stop 2 am IHOP orders that my MIL would make if she woke up in the middle of the night and then forget she made when she went back to sleep.There is such a gap out there in the market that allows adults with dementia some independence while preserving dignity.

As a trustee for a special needs person, TrueLink makes transfers of funds, automatic payments, documentation very easy. Having a debit card specific for special needs concerns has made a world of difference. It is easy to reach a live person if any concerns or questions pop up. Small downside - There is a small monthly fee and the debit card is preloaded, so that money is not earning interest.

Good debit card for a disabled adult.
My wife and I are responsible for a mentally disabled adult. True link is the perfect way to dispense her social security money and to ensure it is not used poorly and to monitor her usage. She finds it very easy to use. When she lost her card, it was easy to disable it and acquire a replacement card

I was shackled with a TrueLink card because I have an account with Alpine Gold ~ for some reason, Alpine thinks this is a useful card and company for their clients to use to conveniently spend some of their precious metals investments ... it sounded good to me ... until I finally tried to use it and I will say I don't think I can be more frustrated and dissapointed with the experience. Zero reasonably posted information about spending limits and a grossly minimal feature app for consumer use~ uttlely frustrating indeed. I am of sound mind (so far.. and I am grateful for that) and I don't need a bank controlling my funds so rigorously as TrueLink does ~ The restrictions and spending limits are atrocious. I called and complained and they blamed it on Visa ~ excuse me.. I use Visa on several accounts and I know you are just making it up here... not a happy or professional conversation. I don't like Smug people much but apparently TrueLink loves to employ such folks for their customer service. I've complained to AlpineGold about this as well ~ I guess if you are quite old and loosing your faculties then Trust Link is a useful thing... but the only befuddlement I have at present is why Alpine Gold would offer and promote such a useless and frustrating Card for their clients.

Highly recommend for aging parents
As my father aged he needed supervision over his finances as he was becoming forgetful and vulnerable to scammers. But he desperately wanted a credit card for peace of mind. True Link was the perfect solution. He could have a credit card and we could control how he used it and the amounts he could spend. It worked perfectly for us. It’s very easy to manage and their customer service is very responsive. My only complaint was that they don’t issue cash onto the card instantly and you can get stuck on weekends if you don’t anticipate spending. If my Dad called on Friday that he needed more money, I couldn’t get him the funds until after the weekend. Easy enough to work around this issue, but it required my attention. I absolutely recommend this card and was so happy we found it.

True Link saved my mother’s finances.
True Link has literally saved my sanity. My mother lives with Alzheimer’s disease, and was donating her savings (and her checking account) away. True Link made it possible for her to keep some of her independence and her love of donating, but limit what she can spend in any given month. It also allows her to see a detailed account of the organizations that she has donated to, and much more. They only take a nominal fee to keep track of these cards, and it’s so worth it. As the manager of the account, I can oversee every aspect of the account, block donations, check balances, skip transfers or make new ones at any time. I can recommend True Link with the highest enthusiasm. They made it possible for my mom to keep some dignity while dealing with a disease that strips her of it.
