Terrific fresh organic pastries, cakes, tarts & bread, delivered to the door!
Very disrespectful company who have no idea how to treat people. Clearly disorganised and unprofessional HR person/team. Ultimately glad not to connect with them once you see how they treat people. Waste of time. Would not recommend dealing with these kind of people. Sloppy. 2/10 and a lucky escape.
I was recommended The Sussex Kitchen by work colleagues and thought I would give them a go. I ordered a continental breakfast box for a family birthday celebration. Plus a few extra pastries as a treat. It was delivered very quietly to our front door early in the morning. The pastries were fresh, crispy, buttery and delicious and went down really well. I gather the sausage roll was amazing ... so amazing that I didn't even get to try that one as it was gone in a flash! Would definitely recommend as a delicious treat for the family.
This is a great service with excellent bakery product, that we had previously bought and enjoyed from a quality grocery shop in Kent. We were pleased to find Sussex Kitchen deliver over a wide area of Kent & Sussex, including Crawley in West Sussex. Our trial order arrived nicely packed and everything we tried was very good quality - much above the average. Prices are comparable to shop-bought and the minimum spend is reasonable. The customer service was very good as well.We have a second order on the way and look forward to using the delivery service regularly.
We think the concept is really really nice and I was really excited to surprise my husband with a lovely romantic breakfast in bed; but unfortunately their approach I believe needs some improvement. The items in the box were all rolled on top of one another and it wasn’t a pretty look when I opened it. It was all greasy and dirty, especially the document with the list of items and the message which was supposed to be given to my husband as a present. It would’ve been more elegant and pleasant if they were all divided by dividers within the box and the message nicely written on a piece of coloured cardboard enclosed in a plastic envelope to keep safe and away from the grease of the pastries. The croissants and the bread were cold and quite chewy as if it was cooked the day before or simply from frozen. It didn’t taste fresh at all. We had to put it in the oven for it to be a bit softer and tasty. The baguette felt stale. The quiche (although, again, didn’t look freshly made), the walnut brownie and the apple and pear juice were good. It would be a good Idea to still have them warm and freshly made in the box. Also, when I responded to their first email about instructions as to how to get to our flat; we received no response back. I asked them to let the driver know he could knock on our door as we were already awake at time. But he didn’t knock and left the box on the floor. Which if we didn’t spontaneously go out the door at 8am the package would’ve been left there unattended for hours (and it was our day off so no real plans to go out) and wondered where the package was. Also, the transparent plastic bin bag wrapped around the box was pretty dirty too. Quite dusty. I emailed them again with my feedback and I was hoping to get at least a response back - but nothing at all. They didn’t even bother emailing me back. How disappointing.I have to say the present for my husband didn’t really go as I hoped, instead it was rather disappointing. Again, the concept is really good but my advice would be to improve it massively. I’d think twice now before ordering with them again.
I can't rate them highly enough. They delivered a big breakfast box to us while on holiday in Brighton, their communication was excellent, sorting out any issues easily. Our accommodation wasn't easy to find and as it was holiday accommodation we didn't know that to be able to let the company know but the delivery driver phoned, and was really cheerful and helpful. It was delivered by 7am, there was more than enough for the 5 of us staying here with plenty left over and the quality was outstanding.
I have ordered from them several times now, really good quality pastries, eggs, butter, veggies and good delivery, they leave it on your doorstep in the morning and you get updates via email what the status of the delivery is. Only thing I find a shame but I do understand, is that they have put the minimum order price up to £20. It used to be lower, so now I will only order once every few months unfortunately. Still, great idea and fantastic to have this collaboration with all the local farms, shops etc.
Have done a few orders with the Sussex kitchen over lockdown.Lovely bread, lovely breakfast boxes.Very happy customer
Absolutely love sourdough bread from The Sussex Kitchen. Shopping and delivery is so easy. If you order before midday the bread will arrive next morning. Love the products and love them service.
