Easy to Learn

My dog learned quickly and it’s amazing how well it works keeping my dog safe and within bounds. My dog knows her boundaries and doesn’t try to cross. I also like the tracking feature with Spot On. I can see where my dog is at anytime on our property or if she were to escape…she did twice while learning the system.

1/21/2025

1/21/2025. Collar was purchased 10/24 for $999.00 to secure a young American Black Lab to a 4 acre yard. This collar is now available for a reduced price of $899.00. The dog is presently 2 1/3 years old. Learning boundaries was easy for this dog however he's become more emboldened in time and has been know to cross lines. To correct him from this I am now using a "Dogtra" electronic training collar along with the Spot-On collar, primarily using the Spot-On for it's GPS capability, keeping the phone app open to watch him every time he goes outdoors. When I see him ignoring the set Spot-On boundaries, I remind him to stay put with the Dogtra. The spot-on collar is adjusted to the maximum 30 but fails to change his mind to stay in his yard. Squirls and deer entice him to leave the yard. Incredible diligence is required with constant app watching, keeping an eye on him at all times when he is outdoors, reviewing his every movement via the phone app. But to make matters worse and by far my greatest complaint is that now the collar has developed a 1/4" failure, a stress tear in the thin edge of the rubber collar material, close to the collar antenna! A call to Spot-On, the rep requested pictures and mentioned a repair is possible if the collar components have not been damaged or wet. Spot-on reply to the pictures sent in have determined the collar is non-repairable and offering (as a loyal customer), a replacement collar with an identical collar (same material) for $499.00 including a 1 year warranty or a pre owned collar (same material) for $299.00 along with a 90 day warranty. Or I can purchase the newest, a more durable collar (different material described as a plastic/rubber type?) for another $999.00 which is the original price paid for this failed collar. It is my honest opinion (and I find it a huge disappointment) that the material used for this collar does not hold up to normal wear and tear. I have had multiple breeds of large dogs and have never ever experienced even one collar failure, ever and I believe the expense sacrificed towards the purchase of this collar is wasteful and will not recommend to others who own larger active dogs. Smaller dogs no larger than a beagle or small terriers may be acceptable1/30/26- Thank you for your reply but I feel your response has mis identified the problem as a chewing problem/failure of the collar which it is clearly not. Again, the dog is highly motivated, runs and plays hard. I have seen clumps of sod, grass, sticks wedged between the collar and his neck from chasing balls and happens to him frequently no matter the collar he wears and yet, this is the only collar to have ever failed. I'm not saying your new collar won't stand up to this kind of use. And I will make a suggestion, something I believe most dog owners would like to see on your products, a ring to fix a name tag to if the dog just happened to find itself across the boundaries and free to the great outdoors. Or is there none because the collar will not stand up to the stresses should someone try to leash the dog? Either case, I like many other dog owners, never let my dog venture out of the house without an ID well fixed to him and because this collar has no ring for tags( or leash), I use a magic marker on mine to ID my dog just in case.

The GPS collar allowed me to track and locate my escaped dog in real time, so I was able to cut him off and recover him in under 10 minutes! Compare that to a day of agony waiting for him to come home and this collar is worth every dollar spent!

The collar works wonders

The collar works wonders. I have a lot of walkers with dogs in my neighborhood. I have cows in the meadow and deer coming through the property and he stays within his fence. I’m really impressed.

Rayna has so much freedom with this collar. She gets plenty of exercise, loves investing the entire yard & sleeps better. This really was a game changer for her & us. Love that we don't need anymore leashes= no tripping over, wet or frozen clips, rub marks on corners of house! Every thing about it is great. Have forgotten a few times to charge at night, but in less than an hour, it's fully charged & ready for another days adventure. Spot on is exactly that!! Highly recommend this to dog owners. 🐕 ☺️ 💜🐾

A WIN for me and the neighbors

I purchased two collars for my dogs, Lab/shepherd mix and an Australian shepherd to keep them within my property lines. I live on 16 acres where they have plenty of room to run. There is an access road that runs along my property line leading to my neighbors cattle. Both dogs loved to chase my neighbors on their 4-wheeler, tractor or in their truck while driving by to feed and check cattle. They not only chased them but would bark and run in front of the vehicles. They eventually started following them down to the main road where there is more traffic. I was able to set the boundary on the road and the collars alert them about 10 feet from the road. The vibration mode did not deter either dog and I had to use static. The static mode is adjustable for each dog which is great as the lab had to be adjusted to levels higher than the Aussi. The dogs now have no interest in chasing or barking at the neighbors vehicles. They no longer go into the cow pasture looking for treats or chasing cows. I also have the fence boundary blocking them from going into the muddy swamp snake infested water and it's a win for me. The neighbors are happy not having to listen to the barking as they pass by as well. I was worried about the collars holding up as the dogs play rough with each other but there is no sign of wear on either collar.

I have two 2.5 year old golden retrievers, they stay within the virtual SpotOn Fence in the day and late at night. even when distracted by deer, rabbits etc. They will chase them to the line but won't cross it. I use the online tracker to monitor their activity even when they are out of site with confidence.

Excellent customer service American company

Excellent customer service. Expensive product but it is an American company and I’m happy to support them. The collar works well for my husky poodle mix and I had my doubts because she is a real wanderer and hunter. The cellular plan does not work well at our location (loses connection often) so I will probably discontinue that service.
