Absolute joke, SCAM ALERTDon't waste your time and I have just done.
You are only allowed to send ONE message to sitters and then they force you to pay money to send more. What an utter scam. After taking personal information. Piece of trash company do not use this scam
I think this entire website is a scam/fraud. Seeing all the other peoples reviews reassured me that it is indeed a scam. I made an acccount on this website to become a pet sitter because I needed an income and I’ve been messaged by multiple people claiming to have pets to be pets that are cared for and I’ve tried to link up with them to do a meet and greet for I actually care for their animals so I could meet their animals to see if their animals got along with me or whatever and There always something like they’re out of town or like they’re being babysat by the neighbour and I have to go to wherever and I have to except some type of check or something and deposit it or whatever usually up to like $1000-$2000 check to accept the job and what not and it’s always the same backstory and it’s never a legit job and it’s a real shame because people who are actually like looking for work like me it’s like a real slap in the face because I’m trying to find some trying to find work and this is just like basically I’m like oh you got a job and then oh no I don’t. I really Don’t. I’m just getting scammed by another scam artist if I was able to provide screenshots and proof that I’ve been scammed on this from being somebody who’s trying to be a pet sitter and I’ve also gone on this website trying to get my pet sitter as well and both times I was scammed, so don’t trust this thing because yeah, I’ve proven everything if I was able to post it that would
I have been introduced to some beautiful pets who I now care for on a regular basis.Obviously a very different experience to some who have reviewed.
Registered with PetSitter.com hoping to find legit pet‐sitting gigs, but instead encountered scammy profiles, requests for payment upfront, and no real support when I asked questions. Feels like a waste of money and time.
I provided a profile several years ago, and received some replies. Then nothing, except the peoples' messages to me are in mirror image and scrambled.. I requested and received a refund of 25.00. Now I get emails from PS.com that there are more people wanting sitters. When I try to send anyone a message, the screen shows Error 403 even when clicking Upgrade, there is the same error. Many people register with Rover.com, but the sitter does not receive 100% of the payment.
Hi. I am a pet care provider and i have used petsitter.com for about 4 years now. The site itself is not a scam. Unfortunately there are people trying to scam anyone who lets them on any websites possible. We all need to pay attention and be accountable for our own safety. But from this site, I've met some amazing families that i still work with. Im also a member of 4 other similar sites and petsitter.com is a rival competitor.
This website feels like a total scam. They fill it with fake profiles, connect you with supposed "sitters," and then those sitters disappear after you message them. A few even replied and accepted the job, only to vanish from the platform right after. I’d check back for an update and see things like “last seen online 9 days ago” when I messaged them 8 days ago, or “last seen online 6 days ago” after messaging them 5 days ago. I don’t know too many people actively looking for work who ghost immediately after accepting a job. Something’s definitely not right here.
BEWARE!I posted my profile to find dog sitting jobs. They only inquiries I got were complete bogus, scams. Individuals offering inordinately high salaries, to be paid in advance, without ever meeting or even a phone conversation. Of course, they wanted all my personal information, such as exact address and year of birth, supposedly so their clerk or PA could send a check. Once I refused, they did not attempt contact againDO NOT USE
Terrible unreliable. I posted a job and received a few replies but then they stopped corresponding. My father inlaw was dying and and I couldn't get any responses for an inhome sitter, like if these people dont want to work then dont get on sites like this. I found a great girl that I hired as my full time sitter and now makes close to $1000 per month guaranteed. If one of these people would have responded they now would have had a monthly guaranteed cash income. .
Scam. Avoid.
I jumped in before I realized it’s a scam. I reached out to “customer service” and the scammer messaged me back saying it’s like email, you have to wait for a response. It’s been over a month and guess what, no response. I paid for the background check and premium service, what I got was a premium scam. Somebody please investigate them!
Shady practices automatically enabling automatic renewals on subscriptions. Suggest the company reviews state rules regarding auto renewal as they did not follow the rules as defined by my state (Maryland) at time of subscription. I now live in the UK which has even stricter rules and this company just does not care.Had to cancel my debit card and will be informing BBB and states attorney once I finish writing this.Shame on you for running such a sleazy business practice.
I just started emailing this guy name something Russel and he got a little tense when I said I was confused on something he was talking about he said he'd email me a check for 3100 and I'd keep my pay check and give the rest to a guy who is painting his house even my mom said it was a scam I don't believe her untill I saw everyone making reviews on my same experience now I know I am deleting this app as we speak
PETSITTER.COM - This site (at least the free membership) seems to be a place for scammers not people that want a pet sitter! My first interaction… long story guy was out of town, his dog was with his buddy that had an emergency, after the elaborate story and hours of texting he wanted to pay up front…. Red flag! Sent the email for an Etrans, low and behold he had a new bank account and couldn’t send Etrans yet 2nd red flag, so he wanted to pay by E cheque … Called the bank NEVER except E cheques unless you know the person well!. We also checked his area code although he supposedly lived in a 416 area code, but was on a business trip in NYC, his area code was 747 -345-2770 California) told the guy you can pay cash when you pick the dog up… never heard from Kev D again!
They do not vet their people who respond to your enquiry/advertisement. It appears to be nothing more than a bot, running a matching service that has no true vetting of personnel against your needs. It appears to be nothing but an algorithm that throws people at your ad dependent upon certain code words. As an example, I had a 15 YEAR OLD apply for a dog sitting position for two weeks. I am going to be out of the country, and she had 'some' experience with dogs, but not cats, which was in profile. BAD BAD service. Terribly disappointed that I was to pay $30+ each month, for nothing but more aggravating work.
I want to thank those who have already left reviews. I signed up and have had two try to scam me. Even emailed me a check and wanted me to print it. It’s ridiculous. I’m deleting mine right after this. FRAUDS AND SCAMS
A horrible website. Hard to use and the site is littered with scams. You have to upgrade to premium and even then, you only receive 8 messages. Confusing, messy, very hard to communicate with this site. I only signed up for 3 months, but I will not be renewing.
Maybe petsitter.com should find a better way to run their website. It's full of people trying to scam you. I'm trying to find jobs so I can make a living and i being pushed into getting scammed and there customer service people are useless. Stay away if u can.
I got scammed.I opened up my discover card mobile app to find 6 charges of 52 dollars. Discover is saying pet sitter gave them documents that has me agreeing to that. I couldn't get anywhere on this app just like other people said. I'd click on an email and I got nowhere. The people were the same people looking for a sitter. I don't even remember signing up for a 52 dollars a month agreement.
