Great platform for arranging home…
Great platform for arranging home exchanges. Responsive admin. Wonderful homes in worldwide locations on offer. Friendly people and a community feel.

They really are people like us!
Great platform to connect with like minded people. Each exchange feel like you are staying with friends. We have had the opportunity to learn about so many great places off the beaten path and our travel wish list keeps growing.

Be flexible!
Try to be flexible. Expecting to get specific dates in an exact location may not work for you. Provide people with a range of possible dates if you can. Be prepared to travel a bit to get to the sites - you may have to commute. Finally carefully consider every exchange proposal that you get - it may not be the exchange you are looking for but some of our best exchanges have come from people in places we never expected to visit.

Еxpand the network in different regions
The system is very well designed, but for me, as a resident of Bulgaria, there is a serious issue. The vast majority of participants are from Anglo-Saxon countries, and as I observe, their main interest is in traveling within those countries or to a few world-famous tourist destinations such as France, Italy, and Spain.I find it difficult to connect with people who want to visit our country, especially when I am looking to arrange an exchange with participants outside Europe and North America. I would recommend making efforts to expand the network in regions where it is not particularly popular, so that it can truly become global.

I've been a member of PLU for several years and can thoroughly recommend the platform.PLU offers a good range of possibilities in the UK and world wide; clearly you have to put some work in in terms of liason with potential exchanges and preparing your own home, so be aware of these. However the rewards are well worth it.

Short-term Renters Irritating
I enjoy using the site but I do not like that people put their homes up for swaps but also rent them out (AirBnB, VRBO, etc). So when I find a home to try to swap, the owner only wants to swap IF they can’t rent it out, which means it’s unavailable while they hold out for a rental. That is not the purpose of this group! I like the group & it’s well-run. Lots of great places, homes, & I will continue to keep trying to book home swaps. Wonderful people we have swapped with thus far!

People Like Us is a really wonderful platform for helping your family explore the world and connect with other people in a unique way ... living in a cute neighborhood, or in the woods, or by a lake ... your choice! The folks on PLU treat each other with such kindness and respect, it's a very positive, fun, and responsible community. I highly recommend it for your adventures!

Toxic and Controlling Leadership Culture
We have met some great people through PLU but the overall culture from admins and the owner is controlling and off-putting. I only recommend my friends join Home Exchange at this point - I do not recommend PLU. Admins and owners shut down any online comments that honestly share less than positive reviews of PLU. A community can only be authentic if the truth is allowed. I believe this may be cultural as the owner and admins are from Australia, a country where freedom of speech is not guaranteed. However they need to understand how to be relevant to other cultures in the world where conversation that includes honest negative information is allowed.

People Like US Proposal
As part of exchanging a home with another member, the proposal process is our agreement step which establishes the dates and details of the agreement. Once this is accepted then we work towards the actual exchange and final completion steps. The website is well designed, intuitive and controls the process.

PLU, an outstanding home exchange community
We’ve been PLU members for a little over 2 years and have had only positive exchange experiences. The design of the site, which undergoes continuous upgrades and tweaks, is of very high quality and has always allowed us to locate opportunities regardless of the destination. The Globe system, or non-reciprocal stays, works especially well and expands the pool of possibilities. Our fellow PLU members really give this platform a sense of community and friendly vibes. Bravo to Drew, the founders and the braintrust behind this initiative.
