I ordered over $100 in seeds in mid…
I ordered over $100 in seeds in mid February for spring planting in Portland or. The order came fine but I immediately noticed that one $27 bag of evening primrose seeds was dated as “ sell before Arpri of 2026 , which means they would be outdated when I planted them early April after frost . It had been “ tested one year earlier and had 85% germination rate then. How many could I really expect to germinate a year after that ? I’m thinking maybe 50 % or less as they would get worse and worse as time went by. I reached out to outside pride regularly customer service twice to ask if they had anything fresher and did not receive any response. I was able to find the name of the person who took my order and contacted her ( Bekka ) and at least got a quick response . She simply said they didn’t have any fresher seeds. She didn’t offer any hope that the germination rate would still be 85% or that they would replace the stale seeds if they didn’t grow or offer another strain of evening primrose seeds to replace them. I have grown them before and they can be really tricky at best , they are kind of biennial and I might not even know they didn’t grow for a year , which I asked Bekka and the other customer service about as well. Nothing replied about it at all , just “ that’s the only seed we have. It’s now close to the after frost time here and I will have to plant stale seeds. I hope more than half might grow, but who knows?

Great selection and quick delivery
We are preparing our preschool garden for spring planting. Outside Pride has a great selection to choose from and had everything we needed. The seeds came quickly and were well marked. Our little ones are very excited to plant their seeds.
