Pawprint>Orivet

Pawprint>OrivetEver since Orivet bought out PawPrint Genetics I have had nothing but issues. First of all their website is not user friendly. Second the DNA testing we submitted took longer than I was initially told, 3-4 weeks to almost 7 weeks. Then I was not able to access the results from the website, could not download or print or emial them to myself to be able to forward results. Needless to say this is the last time our clinic will be using Orivet. We will belooking at other options going forward. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME LIKE I DID!

If there was a 0 rating !

If there was a 0 rating !! I never had trouble with Pawprint, since the merge it is a nightmare. I have dogs missing and what dogs are there I have no results for anything. I want my money back. This company sucks, I will never recommend them.

Orivet DNA Testing Is No Good

I sent in a semen sample of one of my Labradors that passed years ago to go ahead and get current DNA testing done over the testing I had done years ago. I get an email saying sample received DNA extraction in progress. Now, I sent in 2.5 times the amount they needed. I get another email stating DNA extracted testing in progress. That means they have enough DNA to complete the testing ordered. OH NO it does not. I get resulted tests with multiple Indeterminable result recollection required. Excuse me? This was not a cheek swab, this was a semen sample from a deceased dog. This makes a customer question Orivets competence.I sent two email with this concern and why they couldn't perform the tests when they said they had enough DNA? This was almost two weeks ago and no response which is typical of this company. Orivet got my first and last sample. It also looks like Paw Print being part of them is not changing anything.

Very very slow process

Very very slow process. I ordered a test kit and it took over 2 months to get to me. They said “sorry your order was over looked” I then sent it back with the collection kit the next day. It took 3 weeks for them to say they received it. On their website it says results will be in 16 days.I have been waiting 40 days. I called and was very upset: they results some of the results that are back while the others are pending. I did this to have the dna results back before my liter of puppies went home. Well I bred my dog had puppies and now they are going to their homes all before the company can give me results.

SCAM!

Edit: I emailed them as per their reply below (it was out of hours - replied within 30 minutes of their reply) and haven't heard backI still dont have my results. I paid $165. I spoke to them again a week ago and they said I should have them by the 5th. I then spoke to them yesterday again and they basically said sorry, got nothing and we don't have a solution. I told them that by next week I will be contacting ACCC and the pet store that sells them. They don't care - clearly normal practice for them.I wish I never went for this company and checked reviews, but coming from a pet store I assumed all ok. With previous companies I have been able to get results in 2 weeks. You mail the swabs to Melbourne. I'm in Brisbane. They tell you it takes 2-3 weeks to receive them to start processing. This makes me think either they are holding onto them so that their guarantee is pushed back (28 days from receiving with no results gets you a refund - apparently) OR the swabs divert somewhere overseas.

Waste of time

Few years ago results came fast. Now the it took them 3 months of repeated queries to admit that "sample failed". Stay away.

Do not use this DNA test if you have…

Do not use this DNA test if you have any interest in receiving your results while your pet is still alive. It takes forever! I’ve been waiting a month and a half and still nothing. Spend a few extra dollars and get a real test.

If I could give this company zero…

If I could give this company zero stars, I would. Paw Print Genetics should have bought them, not the other way around. Always had a great experience with PPG and their turnaround time was always decently quick. Maximum of 2-3 weeks wait. Orivet is amazingly slow. Not only that, their IT system sends out bogus emails telling you that the samples have arrived and are in the testing process. I had sent in DNA swabs and waited 5 weeks with no results. Contacted them only to be told that there were "customs issues" and the swabs had only just arrived. And that their IT system was sending out inaccurate (read: FAKE) email updates. Completely unbelievable. Demanded a refund and made a point to tell all my friends to never buy a test from orivet. How this company is still in business, let alone had the money to buy another great company, I'll never know. I wish PPG hadn't sold out to these incompetent idiots.

Orivet is simply incompetent

Orivet is simply incompetent. Not only do their results take up to 10 times longer than they advertise, they consistently lose samples and previous results. The only reason I stayed with then for so long is that they promised that I could upgrade my tests at a later date. When it tried to do this with samples which were less than a year old, they said that the samples were no longer available and would need to be recollected. When I checked my account, I noted that some of my older results have gone missing and they don't seem to be able to be recovered. The office is not great at communication and there are no escalation pathways. Orivet should not be in business. Avoid them like the plague! I feel sorry for the staff who have to work for them

horrible customer service

horrible customer service. I loved Pawprint and had the best possible experience with them. Since merging with Orivet- I cannot access any of our information- I've done the online chat, emails, phone calls and still NOTHING! I just want to be able to access my genetic health reports from Pawprint. If I can just print out the copies I don't have- I will find a new genetic testing company! The website is not navigable- and the customer service absolutely sucks! My experience is from May 2025-today-

Absolutely do not recommend

Absolutely do not recommend Sadly I keep going back, and still they continue to disappoint time after time. Their ‘machine’ is very sporadic in whether you have enough DNA to test or not. 90% of the time, tests are ‘indeterminable’ even though all been done by the same vet, with the same method. No.. of course it wouldn’t be the handling or the machines. Thousands of people experiencing the same problem. Customer service is almost non existent.

NO ACCESS TO YOUR PAW PRINT ACCOUNT

No customer service. Website doesn't work and no support when you reach out to them to try and get logged in. NO ACCESS TO YOUR PAW PRINT ACCOUNT despite "opt-in"

I had an awful experience with OrivetExtremely Disappointed – Avoid This Company

Editing after they replied - too little too late, you have to carry the consequences for the worst customer service ever - I wish my review will change something so other customers won't have to go through this. I had an awful experience with Orivet. After placing an order, I received no product and no response to multiple attempts at contacting their support. Weeks went by with complete silence.Eventually, I had to escalate the issue and dispute the charge through my credit card company just to get my money back. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had.Save yourself the frustration – stay far away from Orivet.

Slow and non-responsive

They "received" 5 samples for 5 puppies for only testing on 1 genetic marker each. After 3 weeks, they gave me results on 3 of the 5. 1 week later, I got results for a 4th puppy. I've been waiting 2 additional weeks for results on the 5th and final puppy. Last week it showed 0 days remaining on test analysis, but still no report. The customer service people are not very helpful. Next time I'll spend the extra $100 and go to their competitors. I only used them because the sire's owner has used them previously and the single marker test was $50 compared to $129-$149 for the full panel from competitiors

I am a customer of a breeder who used…

I am a customer of a breeder who used this company and I can honestly say if there was a 0 star option I would put that. This company has taken all the joy and excitement out of the process of purchasing my puppy. I have been waiting for my breeder to receive the information on the puppies paternity all month and they still keep pushing back the deadline and avoiding responsibility when confronted. I have called and emailed with barely any response in return. They have given false promises and expectations that they have been unable to uphold. There is honesty nothing good to say about Orivet. I am a very patient person but I am tired of being strung along when all I want to my puppy to come home which can’t happen until they give my breeder his paternity. I was supposed to have the information and my puppy over two weeks ago. This is absurd, they make their customers feel ignored, powerless and unimportant. There actions not only have affected me, but they affect my breeder who is just tying to do the best she can for her business. If you are thinking of trusting this company with your pets DNA or the DNA their offspring, DONT! Unless of course you enjoy waiting x4 longer than you expect.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. Slowest testing process ever. It took 6 weeks for results. Not cost effective. The result reports are not user friendly. I really hate that Paw prints genetics (neogen) merged with them. I loved them because the customer service was excellent and you could easily be connected with a geneticist to discuss things. I will definitely be using a different company.
