This group has a host of tutors who can help meet your child's needs. We most recently worked with Emily Garrison who helped our son gain all the confidence he needed to take the SHSAT. We would highly recommend her and NOW Test Prep for anyone trying to make sure their child succeeds academically.
We engaged Li to assist a family member during the summer with their last minute Earth Science regents review, starting just 2 weeks before the test. We knew it was a long shot, but a recommendation from our neighbor who we trust had us confident we would beat the odds.From the outset, Li established a strong rapport with the student, effectively meeting them where they were and applauding every bit of progress along the way.She used relatable methods and simple analogies to explain the Earth's processes.Over the course of four sessions, our student went from a failing grade to a passing one and this simply would not have been possible without Li's insight, guidance, and motivational support.We came looking for a passing grade and left with a real breakthrough - the emergence of a confident and determined young student who now understands their true potential and won't settle for less - and a lovely passing grade.We couldn't be more grateful!
In the beginning of my Junior year, I was struggling to learn AP Biology. My school had the first unit (macromolecules) as a summer course and I had forgotten most of the content by September, which impacted my ability to understand new content. Around October, I took Biology tutoring from a Yale student, Li Murphy. Through tutoring, I was able to understand Biology concepts more throughly such as Cell Structure, Cellular Respiration & Photosynthesis, and Cellular Reproduction. After taking around 6 tutoring lessons to cover content, I took the first semester final exam and did well. Now, in the second semester, my grade has improved to a 95%! I am more easily able to learn Biology concepts in class like Gene Expression and Meiosis much better thanks to Ms. Murphy's tutoring, for which I am very grateful for!
Highly recommend. Myles is professional, organized, kind, and motivating. We began with SSAT prep and ended with Myles helping craft the suite of essays our son had to submit while applying to boarding school as a 9th grader. We're delighted with our son's admissions outcomes and give a lot of credit to Myles!
Now Test Prep is owned by Myles Muñera-Keating, who we've gotten know over the years as a neighbor. When it was time to prep our son for the SHSAT there was no question we would entrust Myles with this. Myles is able to connect with people of all ages, as evidenced by the fact that he is friendly with everyone on our block. For our son, the early days of prep were a bit rough - he's never really had to work at anything before, and he can get easily frustrated. Myles was patient, kind, and supportive. By the end, our son was consistently doing well on the practice exams and feeling confident and ready for the test. Happy to say he got his first choice SHSAT school, but even if he hadn't I would still recommend Myles.

From the very first session with Myles, my wife and I recognized our daughter was in good hands. Myles is very knowledgeable about the core curriculum requirements in her (6th) grade level, whether it's humanities, math, reading, or science. He gears the weekly sessions to the pertinent assignments, testing, homework and projects that our daughter is working on, and he does so in a way which is clear and easy for our daughter to understand. He is, moreover, very personable and easy going with our daughter. Finding Myles has been a definite game changer for our daughter, and she looks forward to school with a confidence she did not have before working with him.
Myles is phenomenal, marrying a true generosity of spirit with a level of patience that matches any essential work involving children. His facility with math is matched by a true gift at translating and teaching math, making complex ideas accessible even to the youngest students. Myles Keating of NOW test prep is a sharp Stanford graduate who knows his stuff. He helped my daughter prepare for her 7th grade state math test, and explained to her the importance of time management. It didn’t take long for Myles to figure out my daughter’s weaknesses, and he soon helped her understand concepts in a way that made sense to her. I actually witnessed an “a-ha” moment, and it was glorious. The help she received boosted her confidence, and changed her whole attitude towards math. Besides being professional, Myles is also upbeat and relates well to kids. I’m amazed by the impact he had, and delighted that my daughter is enjoying math now.

Myles was a wonderful tutor! He helped me brush up on my math for the SAT, and after only two weeks of tutoring (five one-hour lessons) I was able to increase my math score from a 720 to a 760! He is able to articulate concepts in ways that are easy to understand, and he genuinely cares about helping his students.

Myles is great - he's very good with young adults and he adapts the lessons to things that will interest them, while also educating them about key topics. My son enjoyed meeting with him and I felt like he was very in tune with how to engage my son, even during the crazy COVID times.
