Paid novomove to arrange an NIF number for Portgual, while initially very professional they are now asking for more money, i have also discovered they are in Estonia not Portugal.Avoid, there are other agents.

A company that takes ownership
I initially used Novomove to get fiscal numbers for my wife and I, as we were buying property and we were having difficulty in obtaining the numbers ourselves. So we used Novomove as an agency to get this process completed without further delay. Included in the package was a year’s fiscal representation that would manage or at least help to manage our tax affairs in Portugal. So at the renewal this year we were aware of a couple of issues that were of no fault of Novomove but needed to be resolved. The help and assistance of Novomove was invaluable and I have no hesitation in recommending them totally. It has been a pleasure dealing with a company that has taken ownership of what needed to be done and made sure we were completely satisfied at the end of the process.

NOVOMOVE is a complete fiasco
NOVOMOVE is a complete fiasco. They still haven't finalized the bank account opening process I started in July 2025. We signed and shipped all the requested documents. We've been waiting for them to pick up the package for about three weeks now. This company is a total waste of time.

I only write reviews if they are VERY bad to warn others or for exceptional services. Novomove is one of those exceptional services!!! I have done multiple services with them (Dianne is my contact) and she is patient, thorough, personable, empathetic to our timely needs and constantly communicates better than any business person I have ever dealt with. I have no affiliation at all with this business and we are moving from the US to Portugal which is a pretty big change and have relied on Novomove to be successful in completing this move. Please keep the following in mind, Novomove and their partners do their best to complete everything in a timely manner. They cannot control untimely bureaucracies in different countries but Novomove “Stays on top of it” for final and expected results. I will be doing further business with them as well. So with all that said, give them a try. You won’t regret it!

Used Novomove for my visa documents and honestly can't say enough good things. They were professional, patient with all my questions, and when something went wrong with my apostille they jumped in immediately and helped me sort it. Made the whole process so much easier than I expected. Definitely recommend them.

Smooth Bank Account Opening
Just opened my Portuguese bank account remotely through Novomove and honestly couldn't be happier with how it went. From the start, communication was clear and they were really responsive. Honestly didn't think I'd actually make it to Portugal. The digital nomad visa seemed doable in theory but the paperwork was confusing as hell. Income proof, apostilles, health insurance that consulates would accept – I kept starting and then getting overwhelmed and stopping.Reached out to Novomove in May and they were super responsive from day one. Every time I had a question (and I had a lot), they'd get back to me fast with actual answers, not just vague info. That alone was huge because I was working full-time while trying to figure this out.They got my NIF done in like a week, helped me open a Portuguese bank account without having to fly there, and walked me through the income documentation since I'm freelance and wasn't sure how to prove stable income. When I was stuck on health insurance options, they told me exactly which ones work. Their lawyer looked over everything before I submitted and tightened it all up. Applied at the consulate in July, approved in September, moved to Porto last month.If you're thinking about the D8 visa, honestly just use Novomove. They made something that felt impossible actually happen

Sitting in our Cascais apartment right now, still kind of in shock that we live in Portugal. D7 visas approved, residency cards on the way, and we're drinking €5 wine that's better than anything we paid $40 for back home.Six months ago we were a complete mess. Every Facebook group said something different. Reddit was no help. The consulate website was basically gibberish. We'd be up at 2am googling "do I really need apostilles for everything??" and getting more confused by the minute.A friend mentioned Novomove and we figured why not, we were desperate at that point. Not gonna lie though – sending our passports and bank info to a company we found online felt sketchy. We almost didn't do it. But their team answered our (admittedly paranoid) questions without making us feel dumb, and after a couple weeks we just... trusted them. They were good people.The moment we knew they were legit was when we flew to Lisbon in July to find an apartment. We thought we nailed it on day three – cute place, good price, ready to wire the deposit. Our case manager Philip was like "send us the lease first, just to be safe." Their lawyer found SO many problems. Sketchy deposit terms, weird language that could tank our visa application, and the landlord wasn't even the actual owner of the property. We would've been completely screwed. They didn't baby us through the process, which we actually appreciated. They gave us clear steps and expected us to handle our part like adults. But when our FBI background check got lost in the mail – total nightmare – Philip jumped on it and had solutions within an hour. Their lawyers knew exactly what the consulate wanted to see and reformatted our entire application. The tax consultation alone probably saved us thousands in mistakes we didn't even know we were about to make.You do still have to do the work yourself. Gathering documents, filling out forms, booking your consulate appointment. They're not doing it for you. But they're showing you exactly how to do it right, and honestly we're glad we learned the system because now we actually understand how it all works.Boston consulate approved us in September. No drama, no requests for more documents, just approved.Five months ago this seemed completely impossible. Now we're here, and Novomove is the reason we didn't give up or mess it all up halfway through. Best money we spent on this whole move.

Like waiting months for your account to be opened?
Terrible. It took them three weeks to get our NIFs after promising 1-3 day service with a 7 day guarantee (more on that momentarily). It has been over a month and our bank account is still not open, which is a problem because we are about to travel to Portugal and will now need to carry cash (or attempt to open an account while there despite not knowing very much Portuguese).They kept sending our signed PoAs back because "our signatures didn't match our passport images" when they clearly did. We would sign them again, being careful to match our passports as closely as possible, and they would send them back again in a loop... for weeks. This looked to us like a stalling tactic - since they have a 7 day money back guarantee, this is a great way to dodge it by claiming that their delay is somehow our fault.We provided all of the documentation to open the account that they requested. Apparently this is not enough - three weeks after initiating our application, they reached out to ask for more documents that they did not specify were required. We sent the last month of payslips, but since it took so long for them to process the application, they are now dated and they are asking for more payslips. I honestly don't know if we will ever get this account opened, much less before our trip.If you want fast, efficient processing, this is *not* the place to get it. I deeply regret using them over their similarly priced competitors.
