Bad Review: Nohrd Slim Beam via Core Furniture, Cape Town
I regret ever purchasing my Nohrd Slim Beam through Core Furniture, the official South African retailer. From the very beginning, the experience was riddled with red flags: slow replies, vague information, and poor product knowledge from their sales assistant. Ironically, Nohrd’s own office sits across the road, and their staff were far more helpful and knowledgeable than Core Furniture’s team.I eventually placed my order and received the Slim Beam itself in an acceptable timeframe. But here’s the catch: the machine is useless without accessories. I paid the deposit for these on 1 December, expecting delivery within the quoted 10–15 days. Instead, my order only reached the courier in Germany on 10 December, left Germany on 16 December, and was scheduled to land on the 17th. Today is 7 January 2026—and I still have nothing. The so-called “premium courier service” I was billed for turned out to be a handoff to the collapsed South African Post Office. Anyone living here knows what that means: endless delays, incompetence, and zero accountability. I’ve spent hours and days chasing DHL, visiting their offices, the post office, and even PostNet, only to be passed from one division to another with no resolution. DHL now claims they can’t even trace my package.Meanwhile, Core Furniture’s sales agent and owner have been utterly unhelpful, dismissive, and indifferent. Requests for Nohrd Germany’s contact details remain unanswered. I’ve had to take matters into my own hands, and tomorrow I’ll attempt to contact Nohrd directly.Bottom Line• Core Furniture bills for premium service but delivers the opposite.• Nohrd markets itself as a premium brand, yet the customer experience is anything but.• I am left with a Slim Beam I cannot use, six weeks later, with no accessories and no support. If you value your time, money, and sanity, avoid buying Nohrd products through Core Furniture in South Africa. What should have been a premium purchase has turned into a nightmare.

Useless product and badly designed
Useless product and badly designed. I was gifted the ‘230cm’ wall bar for my suspension training. Unless you are a midget the only way to do the suspension training is with your feet on the ground. The overhang opens at angle lowering below 230cm, and the ‘far from the wall’ design means you do have to use the flor to mount the bars, which makes impossible to mount it any higher. There are minor chips and imperfections in the wood too - so definitely no quality control for a product priced at premium. Not even mentioning it was delivered to the billing address and not the shipping address 200km away, and the company was unable to simply send it across the country, which meant a 5 hour round trip for us in order to collect it from the driver to get it before Christmas. So much hassle for an overpriced product that is impractical and simply unusable for what it supposed to be.

Don't even think about buying The Wall from Nohrd
The Wall, from Nohrd, is a triumph of form over function. It looks great but fails in nearly all aspects. The pulley weight system, on the left, is fine. It performs well. The Cross Country Trainer, on the right, is nonsense - no wonder there are no training videos or information from Nohrd for this device. In the center is a selection of weights - Nohrd bags with a handle. If you buy these separately (not with The Wall) they provide a set of cards, showing how to use the. With the wall, no such cards! Unless you really love this type of weights, go for the traditional dumbell. The worst part of this system is the computer monitor in the center. I had such great hopes for this. It is a total waste. There is no information about any of the devices on the wall. It only has set exercise plans - start with pushups or squats, then do jumping jacks, then it comes to using some of their equipment. No way to ask for exercises using the pulley weights, or the cross country trainer, or the free weights. This is total nonsense and a waste of money. I have been in contact with the company, but it is like "talking to the Wall."

Below average product, absent customer service
I recently purchased Nohrd WallBar + multi adapter from John Lewis. Order fulfilment was prompt - what you expect of an iconic British brand. But that’s just about everything good about it end. Bearing in mind it’s “Made In Germany” and it costs £600+ for what is essentially bars made in Cherry Wood, once expects something German about it - great manufacturing, great finish and perhaps a BMW type service. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be. I faced issues with the assembly of the product from the time I opened the package. A few of the bars had manufacturing defects - which on reaching out to customer care I was politely told that there wasn’t. Several bars had manufacturing defects with the holes in the bar not fully aligned to the holes on the frame and it was a struggle to put it together. Despite sending pictures to customer care proving what was wrong, I wasn’t offered a replacement - in fact not even a call back as per their promise. Eventually paid £250 to a carpenter to come in, correct the defects and mount the frame on the wall. The wall mounts sent in the pack were also less by 1 - 3 instead of 4. I requested to be paid £250 that I spent on the carpenter. It was declined. I asked for a credit on any future purchase - that was declined. All I got after the email ping pong was a constipated “we are sorry”. I spent £850+ on a product which could have been bought for under £300! The product is finally usable in my home gym, but this means either “Made in Germany” has lost significance or this is just shoddy customer service backing up a shoddy product. There is better value elsewhere - don’t go for the glossy pictures. Buy elesewhere

Non-existant customer care.
Non-existant customer care.I bought a Tria Trainer that was packed in some sort of green plastic which had unfortunately gotten stuck to the wood and I couldn't figure out how to get it off.So I decided to ask! I tried contact which forwarded me to the Swedish site however they replied "You purchased your NOHRD product from our competitor". Turns out it's just a retailer.Next I tried their support mail which they list on their site, this actually bounced back from a dante at another domain after a while.Lastly I tried the german branch since they seem to be based there simply asking them to please forward me to someone who can help. No answer! Now I have to return the damn thing instead of just getting advise on how to get the thing off.I have two other products but since I never had reason to try and get support I just didn't know it was just a front. I would advise caution to anyone thinking of buying their products! Support and customer care is important, especially when there is a large price tag, don't expect it here.

Elasko was cracked - not once, but twice.
I purchased an Elasko through a third-party vendor, only to discover that they forwarded my order to Norhd for fulfillment, with the product being shipped directly from Germany. My experience with this item has been less than satisfactory. After an extensive wait of almost three weeks, the first Elasko I received was not only damaged but also in the wrong color. I reached out to the vendor, who took a couple of days to coordinate with Norhd. Fortunately, Norhd expedited the replacement, which I received about 8 days later. However, this unit, while correctly colored, had a more pronounced crack/break in the wooden frame. I have once again contacted the vendor, who is liaising with Norhd, but it's been three days without any update. This was an expensive purchase and one that I contemplated for months before deciding to purchase it. I am beyond frustrated with this company and their slow-poke response to this situation. And I’m blown away that I received another Elasko with the same issue - one would think that they would’ve inspected it before shipping to ensure that I would receive the equipment in top order. I haven’t decided what I’ll do now. It’s going to depend on the response from Norhd. What I do know is that I’m disappointed. This is my third piece of equipment from this company, and it may be my last if they don’t get their act together.
