Taylor is a very patient and helpful teacher. I am a beginner had been learning from his on line course videos for about 2 years. Taking his private class really helped me immensely. My practicing became more focused and productive and my playing improved dramatically. Taylor is very easy to work with, very knowledgeable and the lessons are a pleasure. I highly recommend taking private lessons with him!
I came across Taylor's website by chance and signed up for his Guitar Building Blocks, which helped my chord changing. I also was able to attend his bootcamps and that nudged me to sign up for his private one on one lessons. It was the best decision I made with regards to my guitar journey. My guitar skills improved immensely over the 12 week sessions, and all my goals were accomplished such as playing some of my favorite songs. My only regret is that I wish I had done it sooner.
The 1:1 lessons with Taylor definitely helped me progress in my guitar journey. I was able to work on specific goals with real time feedback. Being able to interact directly enabled easily discuss my goals and get questions answered. My playing ability and confidence definitely improved because of the 1:1 lessons. I highly recommend doing some 1:1’s. Thank you Taylor for helping me on my guitar journey. It has been a great experience
One on one sessions with Taylor have been a great experience for me in improving my guitar playing. He's very encouraging and provides great tips to work through problem areas. This bootcamp has given me a very detailed and focused structure in learning songs I've always wanted to play. I've had a great time with this and am very pleased with the results. Look foward to doing it again
I recently took a series of 1 on 1 guitar lessons with Taylor. As a beginner guitarist I found that these lessons were excellent. We covered a variety of techniques such as cord changes, strumming, and reading tablature. I also worked on playing songs. This twelve week session was awesome. Taylor has a way of breaking things down so that the student can follow and then implement the lesson more easily. I’ve taken Taylor’s other Building Blocks guitar course, and I can honestly say that he is an excellent teacher. His approach to guitar instruction is easy to follow and gives results to the student. I highly recommend Taylor to anyone wanting to learn how to play guitar.
I've been learning guitar with Taylor for a year, and it’s been an awesome experience. He has a great way of breaking things down, whether it’s using the building blocks platform, in a one-on-one lesson, a group boot camp, or a song-learning session. No matter the setting, he make learning fun, approachable, and effective. What I really appreciate is how he tailors lessons to each student’s needs. He pushes you to improve without making it overwhelming, and he's always patient and encouraging. The group sessions are a great way to stay motivated and learn alongside others, while the one-on-one lessons really help fine-tune technique and build confidence. If you're looking for a guitar teacher who knows his stuff and genuinely cares about his students' progress, I can’t recommend Taylor Dean Barnett, Guitar Building Blocks and Musichmatcher enough!
The 1 on 1 private lessons with Taylor have been VERY helpful! I have been able to work through a number of different songs that I wanted to learn with Taylor's encouragement, feedback and structured practices that helped me make nice strides in my guitar journey. A very good investment of my money and time! Thank you Taylor!
The one on one and getting instant feedback really helped me see what I was doing wrong and how to fix it. Having the structured lessons with the specific jam tracks to practice was a big help.
I recently started with Taylor. He is an excellent teacher and his building blocks courses are excellent. Variable speed jam tracks with a ton of helpful suggestions. I love the Wednesday song learning sessions and Saturday song building sessions. You will not regret your investment in his course.
Just buy it. Definitely worth every penny. The course is fantastic, and Tyler is as helpful as they come. If you're looking for a great guitar course with perfectly structured training this is it!
Taylor is a fabulous guitar instructor, he really cares about everyone’s development and progression and is very patient and doesn’t rush through anything. I would definitely recommend this course and his style of teaching. His course is set out in easy to follow learning blocks which are easy to follow and can follow at your own pace. There is a live lesson you can join every Saturday and can watch back if you are unable to attend live. There is access to jam tracks and tabs to coincide with the lessons. Taylor is contactable if you need any advice and there is a Facebook community page to share tips and any learning issues with the members, which Taylor also replies too.
Taylor is very laid back and positive when instructing. His lessons are informative and no pressure. He is also very reachable wheaten it’s text , phone or e mail.
A step by step course with good instructions and repeating excercises to practice what you learned. Just perfect and exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
I am 71 years old and wanted to take up playing guitar again. I haven't played since I was 16 years old. With the help of Taylor and his Building Blocks course I was able to play again. Slow but I'm playing and every Saturday Taylor has a training day for his students. Thank Taylor and looking forward to your next class.
The process works. Taylor’s approach to learning guitar is simple and easy to follow. Between the online platform for tracking progress through lessons and the mix of guitar techniques provided there’s a wide variety of learning in this program. The lesson introductions by Taylor are easy to understand and his style of instruction is clear for those of us who have no guitar background. I’m loving the progress I’m making after just a few months—having had no guitar experience before—and already playing some of my favorite songs.
For several years I have tried several different ways of learning guitar. I have finally found a method that motivates and encourages. MusicMatchr is that system. Taylor Dean Barnett’s MusicMatchr system lets you learn at your own comfortable pace and I am blown away by the amount I have already learned. We have a music online meeting that Taylor hosts every Saturday. He is a fantastic teacher and no question is too trivial. These online classes motivate me to keep practicing and I love the music and the progress I am making. Don’t hesitate to be a part of this group, you’ll be glad you did!
I've been doing the Guitar Building Blocks program for a while now. I'm just a home hobby guitar player but enjoy music and have subscribed to a few learning programs over the years so feel I am able to provide a review having had experience with other learning programs. Taylor has created a really good structured learning program which really does build your ability as you progress through the modules. The program also has a Facebook group for members where he hosts regular live tuition sessions for learning a song which you can watch later if you can't make the live time.I particularly the scales lessons which also have a really catchy backing track so you actually feel like you are playing along with a band when doing the scales modules, as did the chords module.Overall Guitar Building Blocks delivers what it says, it is a complete package and I would have like to have found it earlier in my guitar journey, because for me, it's been a better learning experience and I feel I have progressed better than other programs I've tried in the past.Definitely a quality professional guitar study program that delivers results if you follow the steps.Don't try and Fast Track it, just put in the work, follow the structure that is presented, and you will be surprised how you progress. Just make sure you do it a few times a week instead of leaving it all for the weekend, little and often regular practice is better. All the best, Mike
Taylor has developed a system of building blocks that were very helpful to me. I had played the guitar on a very basic level of strumming and practicing the building blocks has helped me to improve quite a bit. I really love to participate in his weekly online sessions when I can because it's fun to follow his lead in applying different techniques to favorite songs. He is a great and enthusiastic teacher!
I like the format and the guidance. The fact that you can view recordings of weekly lessons as well as song tutorials is a real plus. The pace of going from module to the next completely messed with me...I still haven't gotten through chord picking with no end in sight. Power chords looks super easy but aren't, so stuck there too. Chord changes, while better, are still embarrassingly inconsistent. So overall the course barely got me out of beginner stage and I'm trying to find local in-person lessons and have stopped playing altogether as it was more frustrating than fun.
