Mover Mafia! DONT BOOK THEM!

My experience with this company was truly one of the worst I've ever had. It deeply saddened me to encounter such a negative representation of humanity. I had made a reservation with them for a 3-bedroom, 2-bath move, hiring 3 movers, scheduled for July 1st. The initial quote was for 4 hours at a rate of $230 per hour. During the booking process, the representative mentioned that the move would likely take around 5 hours, so we made our plans accordingly. I paid a deposit of $250 before the scheduled move. The day before the move, the company called me to say they needed to reschedule the move to July 3rd due to a truck fire. I explained that this new date wouldn't work for me as my husband would be at work. So, I inquired about the return of my deposit. Immediately, the representative assured me that nothing would change, they would be here in the morning. Which was weird, your truck was on fire? This conversation raised some concerns and seemed like a red flag.On the day of the move, the movers arrived at 8:32 am per the text. However, didn't start working until 9:10 am. I walked to the truck and seen them smoking and playing music on my dime, which I later confirmed through the security cameras in my complex. I had to leave for an hour, and upon my return, my husband informed me that one of the movers had stopped working to play soccer with our son. These incidents left me feeling uneasy, and I decided to check inside the truck. Shockingly, I found one of the movers relaxing on his phone in my gaming chair. At that point, I had had enough and called the supervisor since we were already three hours into the move, and our front home hadn't been cleared at all.Following the call to the supervisor, one of the movers quit. To get things moving and complete the move, my husband, son and I joined in to assist. However, the office didn't contact me to discuss any updates or changes in the rates. This lack of communication further fueled my frustration. Exhausted and regretting my decision to hire this company. My husband and I managed to move everything to the front room by 1:30 pm and began dismantling our belongings. By 2:30 pm, we only had the refrigerator and stackable washer & dryer left to move.We didn’t leave to the second stop until 4:30 pm (2 hours to move 2 things) with my husband’s assistance. They finally gave me the adjusted rate of $160 per hour after calling multiple times. My bill had reached $990, in addition to the $250 deposit. They arrived at the new location, which was just 15 minutes away, at 6:00 pm (1 hour and a half lunch, which they charged me for). We paid the remaining balance of $990, but to our dismay, they handed me another invoice demanding an additional $1,788 for a mere 3 hours of work. They threatened to drive off with my belongings if I didn't pay on the spot. Feeling cornered and desperate to protect my possessions, I quickly ran up to the truck and sat on my things. Immediately, the dispatch instructed the driver to leave, even after I reluctantly paid the exorbitant total of $3,028 they driver found this funny. Since they saw I wasn’t going anywhere and the billed was paid. They had to take my things off the truck. This entire ordeal left me in tears, unable to comprehend how people could act so heartlessly and unethically. While they did unload our belongings from the truck, they carelessly left them in the parking lot, including the refrigerator. To add insult to injury, they damaged our furniture, including our dining room table and three dressers. Even my relatively new couch had to be cleaned due to their negligence. To make matters worse, I discovered an additional charge of $200 from them after the fact. These actions felt nothing short of deceitful. Thankfully, our family and friends came to our aid, preventing us from leaving our belongings outside. These individuals and the company they represent are truly vile, and I firmly believe that karma will catch up to them. I urge you to stay away from this nightmarish company. Their behavior resembled that of the mafia, and you definitely don't want such individuals in your home. Consider this a lesson learned. Wishing you all the best and may you be blessed!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! THEY WILL ROB YOU!!!! The representatives on the phone are so rude, cut you off, and talk over you while treating you like absolute crap. I am unfourtlatley having to start the process of suing this company. I spoke with Arnold on the phone who initially helped us book our unload only service. I explained to him how we are moving from out of state and we are looking for a company who could be a little flexible on our move in date as we were driving 18 hours. He promised me the world and that on the day of my move in, I could call and let them know our arrival time and they would accommodate. NO cancellation policy or other policies were spoken about at all on the phone, ON A RECORDED LINE so I have PROOF!Long story short I was lied to and taken advantage of. $250 has been taken from me and I will FIGHT BACK to get my money because I was LIED to and promised the world so he would get my card number and take my money. These guys are jerks and do not give a damn about anyone but their greedy selves. Do yourself a favor and hire a small company that actually cares and will render services as promised. PLEASE, listen to the 1000+ ONE star reviews they have on their yelp, google review and do NOT use them.

DO NOT HIRE MOVE CENTRAL

I was convinced that this was going to be the best move yet. However, this is a screwed up system #MoveCentralMoving&Storage has. They bring a moving truck to your house and stuff it full. Then they tell you that they are going to move all of this stuff into pods. $100/month storage for each pod. Movers at our house said we should be able to get everything in 3 pods. 5 pods later, we are paying $500/month for storage. We never got to see how full the pods were or how they are packed. Then to get my stuff back, they want all kinds of deposits. I figure they will put the pods on a truck and get right to me. When I scheduled the move out I was told they would be done at their facility and to my new apartment no later than 11. An hour and a half after that 2 guys showed up. I asked them to set up my beds, as Cesar assured me when I set up this move that they could do, and both men said they weren't the ones who took it apart and they don't know how to put it together. It took them >6 hours to get us out of a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom that was 90% packed for a total of $2700. Then they charge us $500 a month rent. Then they charged us $250 deposit to move out. The move out charges totaled $1047 and no made beds and everything left on my patio. I do know that moving is very expensive but I surely feel like #movecentralmoving&storage really took two old ladies for a ride on their moving cart. How do I know how long it took them to load/unload the pods? How do I know how full those pods were?Too many questions and too much money spent.Nobody informed me that I needed to pay for the move out service BEFORE my stuff was delivered. Pedro stopped the movers from off loading twice because I couldn't pay him quick enough.

Would never hire.

The team was very unprofessional and had absolutely terrible customer service. I have moved across country with other movers and have never had such issues as I had with Move Central— who I only hired to load/unload. They completely shattered the glass for a coffee table and due to their policy, they only offered to compensate $58 for a $720 coffee table. They said they only compensate $.60 for every pound- which they do not communicate to you when you reserve the appointment. They have you sign the contract at the site of the move. I would not move anything of value with them. They also left the shattered glass all over the street and their team did not clean up after themselves. They also just put all the boxes in the living room upside down and stacked heavy items on top of boxes labeled delicate, ruining more items. I hired movers because I needed help with a move but they ended up only adding more stress and damaging more items. They were also incredibly reckless with heavy items and scraped the wooden floors when they moved the filing cabinets. I would never hire this team.

Talked to someone on the phone this…

Talked to someone on the phone this morning for my move. He was very polite and respectful. I'm moving about 400 miles. At first he quoted me $3400. When I said I couldn't afford that, he said he could do it for $2100. This kind of shady price quoting make me skeptical about doing business with this company. For all I know, they say it $2100 and later charge me $3400. I have read the reviews. There are so many people who say they were quoted one rate and then expected to pay another. Yeah I'll pass.

Scammers & Thievest!!!! Run!!!

Unethical scammers!!! This was a horrible experience. Do not use! Do a little research and look at the negative reviews, this tells the true story. They ruined my bedroom set by shattering the pillars, they did not come with tools to take apart the bedroom set despite my confirmation, nor were they smart enough to figure it out, they stole a brand new iPhone, and one of the guys had diarrhea and spent 20 minutes three separate times in the bathroom at $160 per hour. It took me 45 minutes to get to the Final Destination yet it took them 2 hours. They said traffic yet we left at the same time. They charged me time and a half and double time, the entire experience taking 11 hours to move a bedroom set and and a desk with small armoire and about 25 boxes. One guy stayed on the truck while the other one moved the furniture into the house so it was like I had one mover. I filed a claim while they were still moving my furniture. They never followed up and yet when my bank reaches out about the damage they declined to cover.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE company. This place is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! The nightmare my family had to go through, I wish nobody else has to. Took 3 guys 7 hours to load a 3 bedroom apartment and didn't even finish the whole apartment! Scratched up every wall bringing in my kids bunk beds, and didn't even put it back together. Then left with our stuff still in truck without even telling us. Claiming they felt threatened by me (a 105 pound woman) and my mother in law (who has cancer and can barley walk). Then demanded we pay $3,500 to get our things back. Of course we paid because we needed our things, but that much money and they didn't even do the job! My daughter and I basically did their job by bringing them everything to load. So as the truck arrives 2 DAYS LATER, they demand more money to unload. As the truck gets open, pretty much everything was broke. Bookshelf, Tvs, shoe racks, purse rack. Everything was thrown in the truck. They had mattresses and box springs sitting on top of everything else. I called the police because they demanded more money, and the police said what they are doing is ILLEGAL and a SCAM! THANK GOD the men who arrived with the truck was understanding and gave us our things (they probably got fired because they even told them we should not be charged anymore especially due to how the truck was packed and our broken items). You know its bad when the employees are literally arguing with management about how we have been treated. Then after all this they tried to charge my card TWICE without my authorization. DO NOT EVER book this company!!!!

AWFUL experience

AWFUL experience. I used move central in Oakland. They were 3 hours late. I had to sign a waiver on the phone, which I thought was weird as this could have been arranged online when I actually had time to read and see what I was signing. They were so slow and inefficient I died a little inside every time they did something. Especially one of them hardly lifted a finger and kept complaining. This same guy made me feel uncomfortable by lying down on the bed and asking what happens in this room. I called my husband to come home from his work after that. My husband and I actually did most of the moving. It’s like they just provided the truck and packed it up, very slowly. We lost the fully loaded truck for 20mins on the way to the new place, as they went to macdonalds to get lunch, without telling us. We didn’t even ask them to put stuff in place in our new house as we knew how slow they were so we asked to just unload it all in the garage, to stop the bill from growing. They logged 2x 15 mins break. Which were at least 30-45 mins each (not including the macdonalds trip), and one of them sat in the truck doing nothing for at least an hour in total. They also started an hour after arrival to ‘scope out’ the work. I was told I wasn’t going to be charged for this time, but I was.Was charged 7hours to move a 2 bed apartment. I was told it would be an easy move and quoted 3 hours. They then lied afterwards on the phone when they said I was quoted 9 after calling them (many times) in frustration. One badly damaged TV unit and some scratches on other things but this was actually one of the things they were ok at (moving carefully). It’s like the company is going broke and trying to milk every last penny from customers, not caring about bad reviews or experiences. It was horrible. Don’t use them.

Please read a truthful review

If there's zero star rating it would be the rate. The whole experience with them was just horrible. I would have to file legal action against this company. Please spare your time and save yourself some head ache and chest pains. They are insane crazy greedy about the deposit but can't deliver the service correctly and promptly. This company needs to close down.1) they didn’t arrive at a promise time 2) they delivered my 52” tv with a missing stand. I had to buy wall tv mount - for which It should have not happened/ 3) they lost part of my bed. I am sleeping at my new house on the floor because my bed is no longer usable in any ways or forms. 4) they folded my sleep number bed mattress and eventually split them into 2. That’s a $3,000 worth of mattress. I am extremely livid about this. They offered to compensate me $100 for the damage done. It’s an insult to be honest.5) they returned my dining table disassembled and the crew wasn’t notified that they had to put it together. They have no tools with them. So they left my table with no legs. It’s awful. Infuriating. I am livid. Beyond mad. But they kept calling me when they needed the deposit when I told Gilbert the sales person that I am with a dying patient. Very disrespectful.

PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS

PLEASE READ ALL REVIEWS before moving forward with this company!!! They are charging us over $3,000 more than the estimate. Jay Ortiz is a slick sales person on the phone. He will talk about all the discounts he can offer you and say he will take care of you. Jay estimated 5-6 storage pods at $100 each per month. The are charging us for over 9 pods at $950 per month. This was higher than the most expensive storage company I could find. Jay also estimated about $2,700 for our move into storage a few miles away, the bill was over $4,000. This was after someone came to our home and took inventory of everything we had inside and outside. In fact, we got rid of more large furniture items since the inventory was taken. We have scammed and I don't want anyone else to go through what we are dealing with. Jay will promise you the world, then stick you with a bill that is far greater than the "good faith" estimate. Please don't fall for it like I did.

Movers under the influence and…

Movers under the influence and agressive. Company unwilling to accept responsibility. Over 15k in damaged furniture. Had to file police report. Read details below. They have been sued 8 times in 2 years in Sn Diego County alone (see pictures), probably many more times across Southern California. When they showed up to our new home to unload our belongings the foreman told us we had to much stuff and that he was going to need two more movers (at an additional cost), we reluctantly agreed. Shortly afterwards we started to notice a lot of broken and damaged items. We started to complain to the foreman and say that we wanted to be reimbursed for the packaging/wrapping, since so much was damaged. Things were a little tense, but professional at this point. After a while two other individuals showed up to "help". They continued unloading for for a while when one of the new movers who showed up became very agressive, he was kicking boxes and furniture, and started yelling at me. I immediately noticed he was acting "drunk" and then smelled a strong odor of Marijuana. We called their dispatch immediately and told them what was happening. Astonishingly they did nothing. The aggressive man and another man who was with him continued on-site smoking marijuana and were menacing us. Very scary situation to have men under the influence being aggressive at your home. Unfortunately we had paid earlier in the day (they threatened to leave with our belongings if we didnt pay) and they had included paying a person to break our stuff and threaten us. Before they left the foreman offered to call dispatch on speaker phone to see if it was okay to refund us a part of the money, the dispatcher (Joe Ibarra) said to the driver, "if she's inside the house get in the truck and leave". They have made no serious attempted to correct this situation.

Moving Central Irvine

Moving Central Irvine: I moved two miles after selling my home 1/2022I was given a quote of $959. i paid a deposit and when they brought my furniture to my new place, the manager called me from the main office, was so aggressive and rude, on the phone demanding double of their quote, or they would take my things and store them, And told me i'd have to pay for storage anc a new moving fee.I was sobbing but I had to give him a new credit card to get my furniture. Then went back to check my home and they brought the plaster and paint off the wall at the top of the stairs and left my queen bed in my room. They are the worst business and honestly need to be investigated for extorting customers when they have your whole house of furniture on their trucks. Never ever use them. They are the worst ever.

Movers Under the Influence- Don't risk your safety with this company!

I Movers Under the Influence- Don't risk your safety with this company! We moved on 7/8/2022. By far the worse company I have ever dealt with. Like a lot of other people who have left negative reviews here, I can confirm, this company has very deceiving business practices. They have very efficient processes designed to force you to pay more than quoted at every turn and they make it impossible to recover any significant losses. If you refuse to pay the upcharges they threaten to leave, with your property. You can read a lot about known and systemic problems in other reviews here on yelp. However, I would like to focus my review on a more serious matter. I honestly became very frightened and nervous since my 15 year old daughter was there and my husband had gone off to finish other tasks. When my husband returned he asked the mover in question to leave, he refused and said he wasn't doing anything wrong. When asked why he was smoking Marijuana his response was "its not illegal". He threatened my husband and they had a verbal dispute, my husband had to walk away to avoid being attacked. We called their dispatch immediately and told them what was happening. Astonishingly they did nothing. The aggressive man and another man who was with him continued on-site smoking marijuana and were menacing us. Very scary situation to have men under the influence being aggressive at your home. Unfortunately we had paid earlier in the day (they threatened to leave with our belongings if we didnt pay) and they had included the extra hours for the two additional movers, so we ended up paying a person to break our stuff and threaten us. Before they left the foreman offered to call dispatch on speaker phone to see if it was okay to refund us a part of the money, the dispatcher (Joe Ibarra) said to the driver, "if she's inside the house get in the truck and leave". After now dozens of calls the company has failed to take any responsibility, nor reimburse us for any services. Even after speaking with Angel, a supposed high-level manager who promised to review the situation carefully. They only offered us a settlement to cover some of the damage, $300.00, when there's over 15k in damaged property. Not to mention the horrible experience. Additionally, Angel told me that that it was not the companies responsibility if one of there employees did something wrong, apparently there have been other situations, simply incredible. Obviously we turned down that settlement offer. We filed a police report and are working on further action. I encourage everyone who has had a bad experience with this company to file a formal complaint with the state. When I filed they were very friendly and it was easy. Apparently this company is well known for poor business practices. Don't let them get away with it. File and let's have the state look at their license. Below is the link and info you need to file a complain. It will only take 5 to 10 minutes. You fill out a form and email it if they need to they will follow up. Highly unprofessional and unethical company

Highly unprofessional company. I would advise readers of this review to not go to this company. They did my move on June-01 from Irvine to Eastvale. In that process, they damaged my appliances and charged my card against my consent. They are non-responsive to settle my damage claim a month after it was caused.

Move Central: Scam, damages, no response.

!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY !!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I hired Move Central based on the positive reviews and it was a huge mistake that has cost me big time. I paid the price when Move Central's truck got stuck outside my building for 4hrs. To keep it short: Move Central made a big mistake which left me without any of my things (and no place to sleep!) and said they'd make it right. Instead I was called the next morning and told that if I didn't pay $1500 for the previous day's work ($900+ in overcharges), I couldn't have my stuff delivered. They assured me that it would all be figured out Monday, they frequently have cases where they overcharge their clients, don't worry! When they did deliver my items, they severely damaged multiple items. That Monday and every day since they have ducked my calls and claims—every person I got on the phone couldn't help me, but they could all take my credit card.I'm out $2000 and now have Move Central contacting me via call AND TEXT to try and extort more money from me. I've been dealing with this for four months and still have no answer from the company.DONT BE TRICKED!!!!! This company is a scam. I saw all the good reviews and picked them based on that. After this experience, I went back and took a look and there are many awful experiences just like mine hidden in the sea of reviews. People out thousands of dollars, damages, not response from the company, poor practices, etc. I would not recommend Move Central. There are so many other options, go find another one.

I will never use this moving company…

I will never use this moving company again and I would recommend for everyone to stay away from using them at quite literally all costs. I ended up being charged for 11 hours of work to move a single room at a rate of approximately $150/hr plus I was charged a storage fee of $200, which was suppose to be free for 30 days or a month. I moved out on February 27th 2022 from a 2 bedroom apt on the 8th floor that had an elevator next to the apt. I was not on-site, but had an someone there present to let them in and out of the building and had prepackaged all of my belongings minus my bed. The contents were a mattress & box, bed frame, dresser, nightstand, small desk & chair, a large TV, a desktop computer & 2 monitors, and 5 containers with clothes and shoes. My original expected time of completion for all this work was about 3 hrs as it doesn't take very long to move all of these contents. I knew the bed frame would take a little longer for them to disassemble and was fine with paying that as I was not able to disassemble it before I left the apartment. There was also some extra estimated time for travel from location to storage location which was about 1.5 hrs on top of the working hours. None of this came close to 8hrs of worktime for a single room, which I could have done myself in much less time. Now the really ugly part. When getting my items delivered, I had scheduled for a 12pm drop off time slot on March 25th 2022, but was changed to a 10am time slot, not bad, and was then getting build for a 7am timeslot which I had expressly declined since I hadn't received the apartment yet. The entire drop off process took about 15 minutes, which i had to pay for 3 hrs of work minimum. When I received my furniture, one of the legs on my dresser had been broken, the bedframe had also been completely broken (the thing I paid them to take apart), and I then later found out that my monitors had not been delivered. In all there were about $500 in damages, not huge, but the complete lack of respect for others property was very evident here, especially considering I didn't have many items. I received a check for ~$140 to cover my bedframe and dresser, but I was not compensated for my monitors since I had not noticed that they were missing in my original claim. My total bill was around $1,850 for labor and storage, of which I got the $140 back. My original estimate would have been for about half this price, 6hrs of minimum work and no storage fee. I reached out to them, phone and email, about the storage fee since I had used it for less than 30 days, but I never heard back from them. In all, I highly recommend to never use this company and if you do to make sure that your estimated time fits the actual time, queue "watch them like a hawk" cliché. Also, don't be surprised if your stuff is delivered damaged, broken, or at all.

DO NOT USE MOVE CENTRAL MOVING AND…

DO NOT USE MOVE CENTRAL MOVING AND STORAGE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND COMMITTED FRAUD AGAINST MY FAMILY. THEY STOLE MONEY FROM OUR ACCOUNT THAT WAS NOT AGREED ON AND CHARGED US $5,000 MORE THAN WHAT WAS QUOTED!!THEY DAMAGED OUR WALLS, FLOORS AND FURNITURE!!!!We used Move Central Moving and Storage for our move last week. Before the move there should have been a visual physical inspection for an accurate quote but this company chose not to do one. We scheduled a virtual walkthrough with their team but no one called us and it did not happen. We were quoted $3,085 for our move.At the end of our 13 hour move, when ready to pay over the phone, it was told to us that the cost was actually over $8,000.00 which is $5,000 more than we were quoted.I agreed to pay for the extra 3 hours of labor and offered multiple times to pay in cash for the mutually agreed to expenses and the company refused to accept payment. Since I was promised a cash rate, I expect the cash rate to be honored. I was told that it was late at night on Sunday and a manager was not available. I was told they would either call me in a few minutes or in the morning. I did not receive a call from the company. On Tuesday I became award of a pending charge for $7,808.25 in addition to the $250 deposit the total charged was $8,058.25. They charged our card despite knowing we were in dispute and did not agree to that payment!!!! I was told before the move that packaging materials could be used if requested. When the crew arrived we were not asked. We were told that they would use materials. The quantity of packaging materials was excessive, and they over charged for those materials significantly. We were charged $2,382.00 for packing materials!! This is basically bubble wrap and packing paper, as we had already boxed our items. Not only were we overcharged but this company damaged many of our items!!! We have large dents in our walls, scratches on our hardwood floors, a ripped umbrella cover, and a broken dresser leg. Also two dressers had legs removed, misplaced, and now they can’t be found!!!We have not been contacted with a resolution or compensation for these numerous problems. We will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, and will take legal action if this is not corrected!!!!!!
