I’m 46 years old and I’ve been riding for decades so, I was just looking for a MTB specific workout plan for the winter. Just a few weeks into the program I was seeing a noticeable difference in my body and my riding. The coaches are super helpful and were able to point out my weaknesses and give me actionable steps to ride better. I feel like I’m riding better now than I was 20 years ago.

A Holistic Mountain Biking Approach
I am an older mountain bike rider. I have been mountain biking for 10 years and have tried various training and coaching programs. This is a holistic program that addresses your mobility and flexibility, strength on and off the bike and specific movements, techniques and strategies and skills on the trail. I can’t say enough about how well this program is working for me. This program is not in person although there are group rides that may likely happen later this year. This is an online program, but unlike some other programs there are weekly zoom riding clinic meetings. The coaching is very supportive and extremely knowledgeable. After enrolling, you submit video(s) of a pre-assessment on your flexibility. Based on this you receive a custom daily mobility workout and a custom three day strength workout. You also submit videos of your riding for a riding and skills assessment. I was new to filming but it is super easy to submit videos. I got feedback on my riding almost immediately but no later than a day after I posted and set up times to meet with a one of the coaches to discuss my progression and what to work on next. The strengths of this program are- Customized off the bike mobility and strength routines- Extremely knowledgeable and supportive coaching- Frequent online meetings to discuss progress (either in a group or just with your coach)- An organized progression of skills with videos and explanations - An online community that supports and encourages each other- Timely and insightful feedback on your videos This program is the most expensive mountain bike training program that I have enrolled in. The mobility and strength workouts were and are a challenge. But I am putting in the hours and the effort and I am seeing changes in the way I ride. This was less the case with other programs that I have done. I highly recommend Mountain Bike Academy, it will fundamentally change how you think about becoming a better mountain biker. And you will become a better mountain biker.

How, as someone who thought I knew how to ride, I was accepted into the MBA and immediately realized I was not in a basic riding class. I was now enrolled in a once in a lifetime opportunity to surpass what I thought I knew about riding to riding and training like a pro athlete. I might add that I am 74 years old, and riding with the excitement and enthusiasm as someone much younger. Thanks to the coaching staff I am already achieving new heights in my ability and conditioning.I could not speak at a higher level for my confidence in Mountain Bike Academy.

Even if the program is expensive, it is a good investment in yourself as a rider and in your physique for the future years to come.The crew and David are great instructors and great people on both on or off the bike stuff.Recommended!

Absolute GAMECHANGER of a program!
I'm a professional mountain bike coach, and have worked with a LOT of different coaches and programs over the years - both as a student as well as a coach. Some were excellent. Others, less so. What sets the Mountain Bike Academy apart from anything I've ever encountered isn't so much the mountain bike skills coaching (which is truly outstanding), but rather the individualized movement analysis and custom program to correct/enable essential movement patterns - learned and mastered off the bike before applied on the bike. Too often I've told/watched/been told "move in x way". But if the student can't move their body in that way period, they'll never get the movement on the bike. People can take yoga classes to improve flexibility, work on their strength and conditioning, and do functional movement programs. All are good things. But they don't specifically target *that* individual's weaknesses/lack of mobility, or offer the right path to rectify the issue. TMBA does exactly that. Yes, they have phenomenal skills coaches and offer individualized feedback for on the bike elements (cornering/drops/jumping/etc.) - but the "secret sauce", the thing that truly sets them apart is the focus on a given individual's specific limitations, and a prescribed set of exercises/drills to correct those imbalances/lack of range/inability to move.There is also a strong community with regular coach feedback sessions (group and 1-1) and encouragement from others. If you have the means, will, and dedication to truly improve your riding, this is the best possible way to do so that I've come across by far.(edited to add - this was not a paid/sponsored review, nor do I work for TMBA - I paid full price as a regular participant, I just want to share the value and key difference between this program and others)

Awesome Academy!
This Academy is an amazing experience! With learning how to properly progress and train for jumps/whips/downhill, coach Dave and other coaches did an amazing job helping with achieving that goal. The daily workout movements with the custom plan have also helped me accelerate rapidly in my riding! Would 10/10 reccomend this to anyone looking to progress in the safest way possible!

new to the Athlete Accelerator
I’m relatively new to the Athlete Accelerator program, but have seen gains in fitness and feel great. So far the most beneficial aspect has been the custom made workouts emphasizing balance and flexibility. I wish I’d discovered this way of exercising years ago. I think the mountain biking drills and videos will ultimately be what I came here for once I build up endurance. The whole course prioritizes the basics and fundamentals to learn higher level riding in a safe and effective way. Exactly what I needed.

This program is something else
I came across David’s videos while scrolling through hours of how to videos. I am a 47 year old mountain biker. I’ve been ridding for 4 years. While my skills improved relatively fast I always felt that something is holding me back. I took about a week into the program that I felt the first fruits of the training. My body was moving much more actively and intentionally on the bike. Since then, 4 weeks in the program I’ve been progressing faster than ever. Honestly this program is not for everyone but if you want to progress your riding fast and willing to do the work david will be there for you, analyse your riding, correct you where it matters and will give you the workouts that will make you shred. This program is something else. I have never felt such a shift in the way my body moves in such a short period of time.

If you want regular access to an instructor on a personal level, this is the place for you. David is very accessible and takes the time to go over a student's video footage in great detail, helping his students to see what they are doing and what they need to do. His videos are also very detailed and instructive.

Excellent Customized Coaching
I have received excellent mountain bike skills coaching from the get-go with this program. The program teaches cycling-specific calisthenics & movements and technical training. The one-on-one interaction and feedback is speedy, informative, and useful. You get lots of individualized feedback and attention to your specific areas of concern! These folks really know their stuff! Watch a World Cup race and you’ll see the pros executing what they are teaching here. There are also small group live zoom sessions which are interesting and helpful. They start with the basics and place a great deal of emphasis on off-the-bike flexibility and range of motion. I can attest that the “custom movements” make it easier to learn new techniques and exert oneself on the bike. When I started the program, I didn’t know how long-distance skills coaching would work, but I can say now- it works very well! If you put in the time and work hard, you will become a better rider through this program!

Incredible program
This program has been life changing for me. The daily movement and workout routines are easy enough that I actually do them but challenging enough that I've seen drastic changes in my strength and mobility. I feel so much more confident in my movement than I have in years. And the mountain biking portion is a simple progression once your body is building confidence. Easy to follow seemingly simple movements and body position on the bike that drastically improve riding skills. I'm incredibly stoked that I found this program and would highly recommend to anyone that feels like they have lost a step on the bike and want to get back to, or into, their best riding form.

I’m pretty early in the program so I’ll start with that. Even in the first few days of the daily movements, I’ve felt an improvement in my overall flexibility and just a basic feeling of being more sure footed both on and off the bike. The direct and most usually, immediate support has been outstanding from day one! I’ll be back to update this review later on in the program, but, as someone who’s 50 and has just gotten back on after a long time off the bike, I’m super stoked!!

Amazing program !!
Amazing Program - More than Delivered. I connected with the group in Sept 2020, very quickly the core strength program became my morning routine and have been doing it now every day since. Having back problems most of my adult life....I needed this. Now fast forward 1.7 yrs later....I'm still doing my core workout, haven't been to my chiropractor since I started the program, nor taking any advil/pain pills. My back feels loose and my shoulders.....I could barely scratch my neck let alone my back. These moves have made AMAZING changes to my arm rotation and movement. For me this is HUGE, life changing. For something so simple 8-9 key moves, 10-15 minutes a day. You can do them anywhere and anyone that says they don't have the time are just making excuses. Believe me I made excuses for a long time....I needed this and luckily David's Fb ad found me and I am so glad. The core training becomes a habit and for an older guy that just wanted to keep up with his son....It works. Since taking this program I have biked a lot, hiked, climbed a few mtns, started skiing again. 2 yrs ago, you couldn't have paid me to try playing paintball or chasing my son around playing air soft. I would;ve been in pain for a week after 20 mins. This past year, I joined my son and his friends playing airsoft SEVERAL times and sorry, for an older guy like me....when I captured the flag and ran it in on 18+ younger kids/players.....IT FEELS Awesome. LIke David says....Feel like a kid again !! All thanks to the core program. Many people will go much further with their advanced training and specifics for High performance Mtn Biking...and I may soon too. But for ANYONE looking to walk before they run, whether you are in good shape or a desk jockey like I was.....these movements will MAKE ALL the difference. Let David and his team share THE MOST powerful acronym in the WHOLE world that rhymes with PAR...(sorry, you gotta pay him for that one )...its all in his strength course !! Not just the pics of the moves....videos that you can login and refer to ANYTIME. For me, this will be my lifelong routine and I hope to be 90 yrs old, jumping on my bike, hiking or enjoying life ALL thanks to this program !!

These guys are on the forefront of MTB Coaching. This is definitely a 21st century service. They have access to most tech and plenty of tools and staff to take your cycling to the next level. Wether of not you can do a tail whip or back flip or want to just get stronger and focus on upping your technique you your mountain bike.

This will change your mindset, if you let it...
The mobility and strength workshop was not completely as I expected. The mindset employed here is uncommon - focus on the why and how, before the what. The focus on brain and muscle activation is welcome new perspective to me as I'm my experience has simply been see movement, mimic movement.Understand, this is completely relevant to mountain biking. There is no way to fully replicate, in a workout, all the inputs and possible movements that need to be made on the bike. So instead, work to teach your body to move fluidly and do what you tell ot so that it is more adaptable on the trails. THIS is what is really being taught here, there are movements and tools that are helpful for biking to be sure. If you want to change your perspective, check this stuff out today!This is good stuff!

Rehab for a tired desk jockey
I have a tight body with limited mobility due to working an office job for so many years. This course helped me realize where my areas of weakness are and gave some easy exercises to start stretching this out. I am going to start putting these movements into my morning routine!
