There is no credible assembly support, which is unacceptable. The bench has a thousand loose parts, and a step-by-step assembly video is missing. The US customer service experience was worse, with antagonistic staff. This reflects poorly on Marcy. You marketed the bench but neglected post-purchase support, indicating poor company standards.
I purchased the Marcy MKM-81030 home gym and if the quality of the product is anything like the assembly guide then there isn’t a low enough score I could rate this product. The instructions for the cable assembly are virtually impossible to follow. I was able to get the frame together without any trouble but the cable/pulley system? Forget about it.
The product is solid and easy to use. Hope to get plenty of workouts on it. Thank you.
I ordered a Marcy upright fitness bike it came on time but after opening it I noticed a peddle for the bike loose with no package around it ,didn’t think to much about it so put the bike together when I come to put the peddled on the right one fitted perfect . When I tried to put the left side on I noticed the end thread was damaged so could not put the peddle together as was damaged ie loose peddle in box 📦 I can’t be bothered to dismantle the hole bike so will try and have it repaired somehow more money. Also found out this is an American company can’t get through said numbers left tickets for them to get in touch but to no availability as yet can’t say what I really think of this company but bad things I’m a minister of the church and I must say I’m very disappointed ☹️ with this company I won’t buy anything else from them and will tell everyone I know not to use this said company that’s my opinion
Marcy olimpic bench 857 pegs that hold bench bar are to long 4 inches every time l pick up bar I am hitting pegs they need to be 2 inches to just catch bar customer service said nothing they could do I need short pegs that work for marcy bench 857
The ME-709 gets good reviews for a budget recumbent exercise bike. I mistakenly ordered the ME-708, which is not recumbent or recommended for people with lower back issues. Two days post order, I called Marcy to cancel and was told that my order had shipped and I would have to pay $55 (return shipping plus restocking fee) to return the one I ordered by mistake! In truth, it had not been shipped according to their website and my payment was still pending, according to my CC company. My dispute was deemed justified by my CC company.Marcy is very good at playing the CC game. After my CC company confirmed their tactics, they then rebilled for portions of the original price, shipping, and restocking. So in the end, I was not made whole, but charged $57 for shipping and $25 for restocking, and then refunded $114. This company will tell you the blue sky is pink. Math: I paid $169.99 by a credit card processed by a third party that investigates every buyer and their credit history. Although my account did not inform me that the bike had been shipped, it arrived. We refused delivery. End result: I paid $169.99 and they negotiated with my CC company to give me $114!Lessons Learned:Customer makes simple mistake; company sees way to make money. Companies teach their customer screwers to lie. This will be a jump, but a small one, trust me: do you buy prescribed drugs, gas for your vehicle? So, a lawsuit against these people that you would never, ever want to date your sister/brother wins, what happens to the company's bottom line? Answer: zilch. Basic business principle: it is cheaper to pay a fine than to fix the many many ways we screw consumers.Summary: Marcy learned from the Big Oil, Big Hospital, Big pharmacy, and a couple of US Supremes, that effing common, decent people in this country is somehow ordained by a -od that wants you to carry a war weapon, so you can shoot 'em when they call you on your stupidity! Oh? does marcy make AR-15? 9mm hand guns. Who owns marcy?????
I haven't even put it together and I'm already disappointed by Marcy. Their product registration is the lamest ever .. one literally writes out the information in an email, which is the ONLY way you can contact Marcy for support. And of course, their system doesn't work. Yeah, try getting help with a complex problem via email. Clearly they DO. NOT. CARE. I should take it back right now and save myself a lot of aggravation.
It came with the wrong screws ,I have it held together with zipties,.arct are a typical American company they make garbage because the national socialist states of America, this is the biggest piece of trash ever made
We just purchased our first Marcy Home Gym MWM-990. My husband put it together and it took him four hours. He said this was the first piece of equipment that he had put together in along time that you could go by the directions. Page by page, he went by everything it said, and it fit together perfectly. It also had the tools to put it together. He said it was a well built home gym. We had one several years ago and it was built good, (not a Marcy) and this one is even better. I was hesitant about spending this much money on it. But my husband said it was well worth it!😁 So I will begin my journey, to built muscle and lose weight. I give you a 10. Thank you!!❤️
Very dangerous buying home gym equipment from this company , the welding job is below poor standard and if you pack on too much weight on something not welded proper it will snap, so be carefull benching because what keeps your seat up is welded too, MARCY BE1000 BARBELL WEIGHT bench, the preacher curl snapped when I added 25kg to it , I also went to customer warranty as I only had it about a month and they told me they don't sent parts out to UK customers, anyone from the UK please avoid this company like the plague they don't care about their customers and products are not safety checked as most parts are barely welded on
They couldn’t even weld a crucial piece of the equipment on straight. It hangs over a half inch off of one side, and is flush on the other. It’s also not level or straight. It’s welded on so crooked that my entire machine droops to the left. What kind of company sends products out without even quality checking them?
I recently purchased The Marcy Smith Machine and Cage System. The thing is a Beast. 600 lbs of solid steel that took a while to put together but worth it. You will basically have to cancel your gym membership because you will have it all in your house. Shipping only took 7 days which was great also. Definately worth the $.
I recently purchased a Marcy incline bench from Meijer in Auburn Hills. The purchase price was very reasonable. I was concerned that the quality might be lacking, however, after I opened the box and put it together (very easy) I was pleasantly surprised at the soundness of the material. I have not had a chance to use it yet, but I do anticipate that I will get many useful workouts with this bench.
I purchased a Marcy Onyx 80 elliptical trainer 10 days ago from Argos for £400 and unfortunately it is going back today. The flywheel completely failed yesterday morning and is now completely unusable. I can't fault the 3rd party supplier who called shortly after l reported the fault to Argos, they offered a replacement but be warned when l asked of there was an issue with the flywheel (and l commend them for the honesty) they said yes. So I am going for a full refund. The only positive l can find with this trainer was its ease of build, and it worked well for the time I used it (45 mins per day) helping me burn 500calories,(info from my fenix 5 watch the trainer would show nearly 700) . I am now saving my pennies and will wait until later in the year when availability will hopefully see a wider range with better build quality and the inflated prices will drop to more realistic levels. My advice is to avoid this make meantime, or if you have the space keep the box and packaging until the end of the warranty. I used to view Marcy as a quality brand standards have apparently slipped.
Very good bit of kit but you should state that the leg adaption is discontinued so people know (Marcy pro 4400) really not happy.
Received our recumbent bike today, Model ME-709 - through Amazon.ca - a day early! The assembly instructions were well-organized; easy to understand and follow; all parts were in the box, well-labelled; and the assembly was smooth and uneventful. So far - so good! Will post again after we give the bike a workout.
