Southampton salon- amazing experience

Thank you Southampton for the most amazing hair!I genuinely didn’t think it would turn out this good — I feel like a completely different person. From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel so welcome. I was really anxious, but they kept me calm throughout, constantly checking in, offering drinks and snacks, and just being so kind and reassuring.I had a mesh integration, and the result is better than I could ever have imagined. Such a lovely, caring team.A huge thank you to Paulo, Charel and Leah — you are all amazing. If you struggle with hair loss, this truly is the place to come. I can’t wait to continue my journey! 🤍

Wonderful Southampton team!

Paulo and the team in Southampton are absolutely wonderful. They go out of their way to make clients feel relaxed and comfortable in the salon, understanding the sensitivities and emotions connected to hair loss. My life has been completely changed since I first went to meet Lucinda in the Chiswick salon over eight years ago.

Life changing moment !…

I have been a client at Lucinda Ellery since 2018 when I had my first Intralace system. I can definitely say this changed my life - (such a cliche but no other way of saying it !) Since then I have had regular visits to the Edinburgh studio . The staff are amazing and all really efficient at what they do . The atmosphere in the studio is relaxed and pleasant , music and good chat ,tea and coffee . This is the place for hair loss solutions - the staff are patient with explaining and advising how things would best be done and what would suit each individual client . It has become a part of my life and I have no regrets about choosing Lucinda Ellery 😊

11 years and counting

I have been coming to the Edinburgh studio for 11 years now and have found them to be absolutely brilliant. I am always made to feel welcome by the most fantastically friendly staff. Obviously staff have changed over the years and I am now being looked after by Darren and Danielle who are both amazing. Special mention to all staff including Mina, Leah, Caroline Ross and of course all the assistants. My last system has been the best of all and I've had many compliments. I would definitely recommend Lucinda Ellery Edinburgh studio

I went Lucinda Ellery for advice having suffered chemotherapy hair loss. I was advised to have an interlace system. I explained that I was still on chemotherapy and my hair was continuing to fall out so securing the system to my hair, which is what the interlace system involves, didn’t seem sensible. I was reassured that the system was suitable for me and would be effective. I duly had an interlace system put in place on 13th June. I was in the salon for 12 hours. The system fell off on 4th July I paid £2295 for a hair loss system that lasted only three weeks. I feel I have been exploited at a time when I was vulnerable due the cancer treatment hair loss. I will not be returning to Lucinda Ellery and advise anyone thinking of going to them to think carefully. There are good alternatives available as so have since discovered.

Extensions gave me bald patches

I visited the London branch on the recommendation of a friend who was delighted with her experience. I had thinning hair due to medication I was taking and was interested in extensions. The initial appointment was sketchy in that the staff member assumed I was there for their hairpiece solution, which my friend has and is delighted by, even though I had no alopecia (at that time!). once we had clarified that I was interested in extensions she explained the different types and we agreed a date to put them in. She told me there would be an inspection 8 weeks later and at that time I could either renew them or come back for another appointment to do so later or remove them. There was no mention of a two week check or the possibility of traction alopecia although the consent form I signed mentioned the two week review. I’m afraid I signed it without asking what it meant. I assumed the staff member had mentioned all the relevant information to me and the two werk review hadn’t come up. 8 weeks later I returned and the original extensions were removed and new ones put in. No one checked my scalp. No manager came over to review progress. A different technician was doing it this time and hers were much tighter than the first set, such that I sometimes had headaches, 8 weeks after that I went back. I hadn’t made up my mind whether to carry on or not. The extensions were taken out and it was assumed new ones wd be added. Again no one checked my scalp. I decided at that moment not to continue and left. At home that night I washed my hair and was horrified to see bald patches in the three places where the extensions had been. I cried myself to sleep. For about a month I was depressed. Didn’t want to socialise. Couldn’t tell my husband or children. Too ashamed. Bought a sort of boot polish to cover up the bald spots. I couldn’t see a future except a grey one. I avoided mirrors. Hated washing my hair. Then I. Contacted a hair transplant clinic and went to see them but they said I was bald in all the places they would use to harvest hair. I am now signed up for infra red treatment starting in two weeks plus injections into my scalp. It’s been the most terrible experience, worse than my breast cancer, not least because I brought it on myself. My hair was thinning, yes, but now it’s still thinning AND I have bald patches. What a result! And I paid to do this to myself. Extensions work for some people. But if you’re thinking about them ask for the two week review. I have communicated this all to the clinic whose main reply has been that I signed the consent form and I didn’t take good enough care of my extensions. My feeling is that they had two occasions to check my scalp and they didn’t do so . So whether I signed the consent form or not they had a duty of care to ensure the extensions weren’t making me bald. And they didn’t live up to that duty of care. Be aware of this if you are planning a visit. Ask them to check your scalp on every appointment . And sign nothing unless you are 100% sure of what you are signing . Good luck

Best decision ever!

I have had my intralace system for 2 years, 8 months. The whole process was kindly and respectfully done and every visit makes me feel special and looked after. The entire team are absolutely amazing and help in any way needed. The hair system has changed my life completely. My confidence has improved so much and I feel good about myself again. The system is a big financial investment, but worth every penny! The fact I can wash/style/dry/curl/swim with etc my hair is mind blowing! It looks so natural and no one knows it’s not my hair! If you take good care of your system and it will last a long time and keep its vibrant colour too!

Lucinda Ellery Southampton Studio - A big thank you 🙏🏻

Thank you Paolo and everyone at Southampton Lucinda Ellery Studio. After years of living with FFA and losing all confidence I had a consultation and then had an interlace grade 4 fitted. It has changed my life and I would encourage any woman suffering with hair loss to seek out a consultation. They have solutions for any type of hair loss .The consultation itself was thorough, transparent and very informative. It was honest. It’s not a quick fix, it’s not medical and it’s a long term commitment. I bought some photos of a past hairstyle with me, and we discussed colours and what could be achieved . After I felt confident and excited about booking my appointment.I booked two appointments, first to fit and style the hair , second for first wash and instruction on how to take care of and maintain the hair.I was welcomed and introduced to my hair technician Chantrel. It was an emotional day. I was looked after very well and I love the results.Everyone at the Southampton studio is helpful, empathetic and professional. Again ‘Thank you’ 🙏🏻

What a horrible place that has an outward veneer of friendliness until they get you roped in and then you will see that underneath that is something rotten. I am not demanding at all but my parting frayed after 7 weeks ( this was a few years ago) and the manager an Eastern European lady was so aggressive and patronising refused to replace it at the start asked me “ did I know how a business ran “ and basically insulted me . There are lots of other places that do an excellent job for a lot cheaper . A well decorated place that gives free wine doesn’t really make up for rip off prices and bad manners by management who are jumped up fools obviously !!!!

I visited the Edinburgh studio for a Grade 4 hair intralace system. The customer service and experience here was brilliant. All the staff here were friendly and understanding. I felt totally at ease. I am so pleased with my new hair. I would recommend this for anyone experiencing hair loss. My hair loss isn't extreme but it was enough to affect my self esteem and personality. Since I have have had my new hair I can feel myself again. I feel more confident and cannot fault anything. Thank you Edinburgh!

Nightmare end to a hair repair journey

Ok. So firstly, I’d like to emphasise that the staff at the Bristol salon are friendly, approachable and proactive in attempting to sort out any problems and I feel like it’s a shame that being the ones on the frontline, that they have to deal with the wrath of unhappy clients due to decisions made my management (owners). I have been a client of Lucinda ellery Bristol for about ten years now and despite always being very happy, never complained once until lately when I had a problem with my parting. For a few months I felt that they were using cheaper low quality hair but it was confirmed when I had a new parting. I could not wash it without it completely matting in a huge ball on top of my head every single time it was washed. They refused to replace it despite the staff at the salon empathising with my problem and trying hard for me, the owners decided it was not going to happen. I spoke to one of the owners on the phone who despite being mortified by the feedback I had sent would still not solve the problem. My hair had also become extremely thin following the fight i had with my hair after every wash. The ends had also all split. I was sent away from the salon with hair that was thin, brittle, split and the guarantee that it would Matt again after washing. I was told that I either pay £695 for a new one, only less than two months after it was fitted or I go home with my hair the way it was. This was my choice and I decided that I wouldn’t pay again only to potentially have the same problem. I have changed to another salon now, also in Bristol who do the same thing for half of the money. ( only difference is the connections). If I had written a review of Lucinda ellery in the past, it would have been a 5 star review but it’s changed. The business is very much money charged now and emphasis on the struggles we have as women with thinning hair has gone.I wouldn’t start off your hair repair journey here. Again, the staff at the salon are awesome, very professional and very friendly. It’s the owners, the earners that are the problem here.

Zero

Zero. This is sadly a totally honest factual review. From the consultation by one of the directors of the company, this didn’t go well. The wrong hair colour was chosen by him, so when I arrived I said that’s not the colour, but they confirmed it was the one he had noted down and agreed it was completely wrong. I was told it wouldn’t be one flat colour which I was concerned about. It was exactly that. They put way too much hair on my head, it was huge and endless layers. I was told a top piece with mesh would be fitted , not layers so my own hair was stuck underneath. The wrong size mesh was used so it came right down over all my own hair. The next day I went back asap and it was quickly cut off by the women helping me, saying this is all wrong. Cheap plastic roughly cut squares we’re stuck on the side of the system to hold the hair down at the sides with glue strips. They stood out from my head so far it looked ridiculous The sheer weight of the wig covering all my own hair not integrated into my own hair as agreed. It took 9 hours to put it all in. When I left I looked ridiculous, it hurt and it was so heavy I just cried. I called and returned asap as I couldn’t live in this painful wig with tape and plastic bits sticking into my head. It was glued to my hair which I had not been told would happen. So no natural hair line. I have curly hair, this was poker straight although told it could be curled which I couldn’t believe and It looked very false and solid. I feltheart broken. The experience is so hard when you have FAA. Alopecia is really impactful on a woman and this only made it worse. The women I returned to see was lovely and kept apologising and eventuallyIt was all taken out 24 hours later, but the hair that was pulled out so quickly after being put in it left bald patches on the side of my head and my own hair had snapped off in places. She also cut down the wrong sized mesh and took out strips of hair, so I was then offered hair that was closer to my own hair colour but very flat and straight and I have curly hair. This was colour three as I’d already had to change it the day I went for the system to be fitted as the one prepped was ginger and I’m midbrown ? The pain of the huge amount of unnecessary hair they applied ( confirmed by the really lovely women who was trying to fix everything for me, but couldn’t) to the itching of the mesh that covered all my hair, was all wrong. I had cuts at the side of my face from the plastic and a reaction to the tape. I only got my money back after sending photos of the impact but it was not easy to get £2500 plus back and they kept me waiting for weeks. Going back again to have it fixed after 24 hours as it looked so terrible was emotionally exhausting. The woman tried to help and convince me to keep some of the system but by then I was so exhausted and in pain and it still looked so false and ridiculous itjust couldn’t stay in. Having it taken out broke snapped and pulled a lot of my own hair out so I’ve spent months hoping it willgrow back a bit. Photos were sent to the company as evidence. I was assured the money would be reimbursed by head office in full and I left. However I had to make endless calls and messages complaining to trying and get back my £2,500 ( I was overcharged for a service I didn’t need as I was told by the women at the salon and recommended the wrong system ). Head office had stepped in and they wouldn’t return my money unless I’d worn the wrong system for 15 days but money back was only guaranteed for 14 days!! . I said it was taken off it wasn’t right and I felt I was missold. Still they wouldn’t return my money and offered me a bit back?! It took ages to get refunded. The impact of this experience is still with me as the small amount of hair I had at the front was ruined and thinner and with bald patches of hair at the sides from taking the glue out, so I have had to cover it up more to hopefully enable it to grow back . Traumatising and extremely depressing experience for me, which felt like such a dream solution when the director told me about it at the consultation. Even returning the money was stressful, they eventually said they only send cheques ?! Then they rang to say sorry they had not signed it so could I destroy it when it turned up. It never turned up so I assume they had not sent it Finally I had the whole amount reimbursed but it was a hell of a fight. Still very sad about the whole experience which has had a real Impact on my metal health. Which is why it has taken me a while to be able to write this review as I didn’t want to think about it all as I was so hopeful when I found this place.

Lovely hair - happy me

I have now had my intralace system for over six months and I’m so very pleased with the result. I feel much more confident and have had so many compliments. Danielle and her team in the Edinburgh salon are all very professional and sensitive to a client’s anxieties. Particular shout out to Darren, who fitted my system and Leah, who maintains it, both fabulous technicians; Ross, who is a master at colour matching and Caroline for her styling. I only wish I had had it done years ago!
