20 min before closing on Christmas Eve
20 min before closing on Christmas Eve! I’m calling because I’m trying to complete a transaction with my credit card. The other end says it stoped the transaction for potential fraud! I’m on the phone and can’t get through due to them having this North Korean algorithm bimbo,”don’t understand “ even pressing zero! Still waiting for email or text or anything from bank to ok the transaction! Nothing came! I jump in the car and barely make it to the bank, when they sent the text as I park my car! LoL! I’m closing this account!

Worst Federal Credit Union Ever
In April 2025, I became a member of Langley Federal Credit Union after purchasing a vehicle from an independent dealership in North Carolina. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered that the vehicle had a serious engine problem. I reached out to Langley within a week to stop payment on the loan, but to my dismay, no one was willing to assist me. They continued processing payments to the dealership, leaving me with the burden of staggering repair costs. Then, in May 2025, I made my first payment and was shocked to find out that a $100,000 HELOC loan had been fraudulently issued in my name, with a staggering $1,000 monthly payment. Initially, I thought I was a victim of identity theft. After a few days, I learned that this was a colossal mistake on the bank's part; a careless loan officer had run my credit report and processed a loan I never authorized. This blunder caused my credit score to plummet by 75 points, and I lost my excellent credit status. The repercussions were immediate. When I needed to renew my auto insurance in July, I could no longer access the favorable rates I had enjoyed before, despite maintaining a flawless driving record. It became abundantly clear that Langley Federal Credit Union prioritizes profit over customer service. Getting in touch with anyone at the bank was a nightmare, and I ultimately had to visit a local branch to resolve the issue. While the staff at the Short Pump branch were courteous, that’s about the only positive thing I can say.I believe I am owed compensation for the distress and financial damage inflicted by this absurd situation. If you're considering joining Langley Federal Credit Union, I urge you to think twice. As someone who has been a member of several credit unions across the country, I can confidently say that this is not how a new member should be treated. Consumers, beware! Choose a credit union that truly values its members.

I like Langley FCU for their rates
I like Langley FCU for their rates, App design, promotions, but Langley is not 100% compatible with my Quicken for Mac App personal financial software. Have been using Quicken for over 25 years and most banks accept Quicken account setup security platform, but not Langley. Every morning when I access Quicken I am stopped by Langley until they can send me a text code (no other bank I use does this). Quicken is very secure and only downloads account info, so until Langley changes I will be staying with NFCU and USAA for majority of my banking needs.

Suggest not seeking to do business with this outfit
It was truly an overall abysmal experience, first seeking application for membership, then taking out a CD. The initial online application attempt resulted in the website failing while in progress, despite having registered both a user ID and password. Subsequently, when I logged on again using the same user ID and password, the system could not recognize it. I was later forced to apply by phone, which was a time-consuming process.Next, I repeatedly sought to take out a CD. At one point, I was asked for several pieces of ID verification, which I provided in full. However, I was then told that one previously supplied document needed to show the entire page, even though the remaining portion was completely irrelevant to the task at hand.Following this, I received a cryptic written message, for which I solicited an explanation but received no reply. In all, about a week of my time was fruitlessly expended on the aforementioned endeavors. I definitely do not recommend others seek to do financial-related transactions with this company.

This is the worst bank in USA
This is the worst bank in USA. It takes 20 to 30 to get a code to log on . The operators Thailand will hang up on you. Then finally get code, it takes degree in Nuclear Physics to find payment location. The customer service people at Langley in USA are arrogant snobs. Worse than. MCI world com.

I was unable to access my account…
I was unable to access my account online and the telephone support service failed as well. I was told a specialist would contact me within 3 days which was unacceptable. I traveled to the Broad Street, Richmond branch, signed in, and after a n HOUR AND A HALF WAIT choose to initiate action on my own. I withdrew 67k from my account and left just enough in checking to cover the automatic payments and continue automatic deposits so as not to disrupt my ongoing business. The 67K went out to the parking lot with me and now resides in my new banking institution. IT WAS ONLY AFTER I DEMANDED THE CASHIERS CHECK THAT THE PSEUDO CARING SIDE CAME OUT OF THE MANAGER! Now I am using them, the way they used me for 30 plus years and I encourage existing members to do the same and potential members to go elsewhere!

Misspelled name on my debit card…
Misspelled name on my debit card should’ve been an easy fix, but I got an agent (Kendal Montgomery) who’s committed to making my day long an inconvenient. We started in chats. I told him about the misspelled name, and he sent me a document to change my name on my account, which they also misspelled. (I cannot see this from my end. On my end, my name is spelled correctly, so I suspect this is a lie.)I completed and signed the documents, and Kendal closed our chat.I tried to send him a direct email, and he ignored it.I tried calling their customer service, and their AI put me in a loop for a “lost or stolen card” (which I assume wouldn’t have fixed my misspelled name), and wouldn’t let me chat with a real agent. It took half an hour to find a real human to speak to, and she got in touch with Kendal, who said I needed to sign another document. Then, he sends me a document that wouldn’t have fixed my name change because it didn’t even have the option to put my name in.After the third document, I asked him for confirmation that he’ll be delivering my new debit card with my correctly spelled name, and he is once again ignoring me.So, I’ll be calling once again. All of this for something that should’ve been a simple fix. They do NOT have good customer service.Update: after talking with my third agent over 3 hours, I got my issue resolved. He was lovely, his name was Monty. I suppose getting good help with them is a game of roulette.

Langley Federal Credit Union on Jefferson Ave Newport News…
Langley Federal Credit Union on Jefferson Ave Newport News has some of the laziest employees. No one wants to wait on you. Each teller sits there and waits to see if another teller will make the first move. The female security guard must ride the short bus to school because she doesn’t know why she is there. Not all branches have this problem but why do you have to drive to another branch to get service? The requirements for working at Langley must be low because the customer is not valued there. Where is the oversight? I don’t trust these people. They are also very unfriendly. They act as if they are doing you a favor by just being there. Someone needs to train the employees on providing customer service to the people who pay their salaries.

I bought a new vehicle
I bought a new vehicle, the dealer financed it through Langley. I wasted close to two hours of my time just trying to get the information I need to make my payments!!! Over an hour on the phone, mostly on hold and pushing buttons just to talk to a human. The girl was terrific, she gave me my account number and the info I needed. When I tried to sign into my account on line, I was told "credit card" numbers not allowed!! More time wasted trying to find out what my member number was!! If they would have mailed my information I would have spent 30 seconds opening my mail instead of 2 hours trying to get my information by phone or online. Do they not realize a lot of people, especially older folks have no idea how to "bank online" Lesson learned!! A Langley loan will NEVER happen again

Very bad customer service
Very bad customer service. They are charging you extra and claiming that you don't have insurance even if you provide them proof of insurance they will ask you to call a 3rd party company to verify it and it will be hours before they can give you a good answer for a simple question. I will NEVER EVER WORK WITH THEM AGAIN

Unethical company
Langley Federal Credit Union is an unethical, aggressive, and poorly run company. Stay away from this awful lender.
