KitchenSaver Bait and Switch
I recently contacted KitchenSaver for a consultation. The salesman came out a gave a 3-hour pitch for their service/product. During that pitch it was said that at the end of the presentation we would know the total cost of their service. We were presented with that cost and the required down payment. After discussing we decided to accept the offer and provided a down payment of $2340 or 30% of the total cost. The following day I received a phone call from the salesman saying that there was a mistake on the down payment and that it should have been 33% not 30%. I added another $260 to the down payment for a total of $2600. The following week I received another phone call from a KitchenSaver VP saying the when the project manager looked over the proposal there was a discrepancy of $3600. This with no one ever coming out to take measurements and after being provided with the total cost of the project. I was told the Kitchen Saver would "split the difference" and I would be responsible for another $1800. I was also given the option to cancel, which I accepted. Can you say bait and switch.
